We've changed and changed quite a bit. Feel free to ask any and all questions about both East and West Armandia, as this will help me strengthen RP. In most cases, I'll be highly strict in terms of realism.

Ask away!

What caused the rift between East and West Armandia?

East Armandia's the communist one and West Armandia's the capitalist one, right?

Do the two sides get along or are there frequent skirmishes? Is there a state of war?

Are either one of them a democracy?

With all of the changes happening to EA, how are relationships with Sobrazke? Still best bros?

How does WA feel about Sobrazke?

What are their approaches to foreign policy?

The rift between East and West Armandia stems from both ethnic and political pressures. Their languages and cultural practices slightly differ. East Armandians have always seen themselves superior to West Armandians due to the historical center of power resting in their capital of New Zhoranya (Novaya Zhoranya).

East Armandia is national socialist in practice but remains highly socially liberal. West Armandia is a typical authoritarian communist dictatorship.

The two sides do not get along at all. Frequently, border skirmishes will occur between the militias of the two sides, as well as several civilian raids. There is no official war, but that may change soon.

East Armandia is technically a democracy, yet he and his party are thought to conduct election fraud. West Armandia is governed by a de jure dictator, but the power lies in a standing unelected troika.

EA will likely try to pursue stronger ties with Sobrazke, as ethnically they see them as the same. However, the Volkov regime still pursues the cleansing of West Armandians and that might not sit well with the liberal monarchy of Sobrazke.

West Armandia hates foreigners in general, as they've been seen as an invading force. The same stands with Sobrazke, as they used to be a part of its empire.

East Armandia pursues completely free trade with every nation that does not support WA. At the same time, it doesn't look to expand abroad other than through moving Volkov's underground markets in foreign countries. WA is highly isolationist although it will typically pursue dialogue with other communist dictatorships.

What would the two sides think of a liberal constitutional monarchy like, say, Miramont? (NARCISSISM! YAY!)

What is the status of private property and private enterprise in both EA and WA? Is it totally nonexistent? At the mom-and-pop store level? Do you own the clothes on your back?

East Armandia would likely laud and exalt the liberal aspects of the nation but disapprove of a monarch. West Armandia would simply detest such bourgeoisie frivolities and control.

Private property exists on the local level in East Armandia. The state nationalized most of the utilities, agriculture, and industry, but small businesses are even encouraged. West Armandia holds a completely different view. Everything belongs to the state, and prices are set at the national level.

What do most Armandians think of the Federation? Are there any sympathetic to our cause?

Most importantly, what would the Armandian government think of a proposed alliance/pact with the Federation?

Most Armandians ambivalently dislike the Federation due to contested status of Kostralitsa Island and the Imperial subjugation of Westphalian Slavs. Even in the case of any remaining West Armandian supporters, they only are sympathetic to the Gibetan cause in that they would support them against Volkov... none of their ideals really stay the same.

Volkov, being a pragmatist, would definitely consider a pact with Gibet, depending on the terms of the alliance. Of course in our current state, there is war, yet if the Federation were to stop pressing northward and allow the Armandian state sovereignty in their traditional motherland (our foreign policy after unification does not call for any further expansion), an alliance/pact would even be welcomed. Gibet exists as the main geopolitical rival in the area, yet we'd appreciate a détente and an expansion of trade/cooperation.

Very interesting, though I doubt the current political/military situation within the Federation will provide for such a peace. As a decent majority of the Military upper-echelons hold considerable influence over major decisions in the Reichstag. The military is really the de facto power behind the throne, providing almost fanatical support for the Emperor, despite a general resentment in the parliament.

Still, anything can happen, yes?
