I know. I've written too many fanfictions recently. Kingdom Hearts, well, that was going to be getting nowhere, and the game is coming out in December, I don't see the point in writting it. Elibe Fusion...forget you even read any of the parts after II, they're terrible sequals .___________.

NLAH I'm iffy on, I don't feel like writting it sometimes. So now, this WILL be a good fanfiction. I've noticed whenever I've written a forum fic, it's always involved countires. Never really been original. So this time there will be no countires, it will be...Fef, the city. This will also not really have any 'FE Classes', but more of the GS world of adepts, because Adepts are just freakin' awesome. IF you want to be in the story, post, and just say what Adept you are, Fire, Earth, Wind, Water, yay.

Now enough ranting.

Cast - Not yet finished

In order of appearance

Santi

A civilian of the city of Fef, a grand, modern city isolated in the middle of a desert. He begins the story by losing his porn stash which was stolen by Hiei and Air Grady, but looks for it in a dumpster in an alley between his apartment building and a deli. He ends up getting killed by anti-boon members.

Santi is not an adept.

“Damn, my porn stash…”

Jaffar

The Colonel of the Fef Central military branch, who weilds a strong and special-military-issued katana given for only very high-ranked officers. He is a man of few words, but has a large ego. He stirred negative rumors about himself by promoting very young officers to be his Lieutenant Colonels – Garet, Leon, and Neo; choosing them over some very skilled veterans in the military. However, the men who have seen him in the heat of a battle and critical situation have usually never given him a trace of distrust since, as he holds a very powerful leading aura. Unfortunatly, he looks like a very intimidating man with little sense of leadership to strangers.

Jaffar is a Jupiter, or Wind Adept.

“Just because you can reproduce doesn’t mean that you should.”

Neo

One of three Lieutenant Colonels of the Fef Central Military branch who wields a large and powerful shotgun. He’s quite clever in his creation of earth psynergy, capable of building a firing shotgun built out of simple sand in the air and ground. He’s almost never seen without a burning cigarette, which he suffers much critisism from Leon for. He isn’t afraid to voice his opinion on things, which usually can be seen as complaining, but it’s a quality that Jaffar admires in his subordinate. Neo doesn’t mind doing his share of the load, but he absoulty hates going in over his head.

Neo is a Venus, or Earth adept. Yes, I know that they condrodict each other.

“I am the one.”

Pendant

A female major of the military, but more importantly, the head of the CSI. She wields a katana that is full of electricity, but is more comfortable using psynergy alone than close combat. She’s extremly intellegent, which got her in the chair of the leader of CSI, after solving countless cases. However, she has a short temper when it comes to idiocy and sexism, causing her to lose control of herself occasoionally. This has happened a few times when other female officers in the military started rumors about how she gave “favors” to the higher-ups to get a high-ranking position in the military and juggle the position of CSI Head at the same time. Heads started rolling.

Pendant is a Jupiter Adept.

“…I hate men.”

Zidane

Deputy Chief of the CSI, an intellegent, hard-working man rivaling Pendant’s intellegence. Deputy-Chief isn’t a leginimate title in CSI, but Zidane made it up himself because it makes him feel tough and important. He helps around the CSI with Pendant and FEGirl, and was Pendant’s aide in solving all those cases. Except, he and Pendant have been having some trouble with certain cases that involve an odd mark on the victim’s forehead…

Zidane is a novice at Jupiter psynergy (Pendant snuck him some lessons)

“Anti-Boon?…”

Air Grady

A dangerous, large, cash money thug who joined the ranks of Anti-Boon just so he could brag about it to women he picked up on the curb. He’s large and strong, weilding the standard katana and is usually seen with his friend, Hiei. The pair are currently arrested in the Central jail.

Air Grady is a Mars, or Fire adept.

“Ladies! Don’t worry, Air Grady will come to save you! And Pimp you up. Booya.”

Hiei

Air Grady's pimp partner who uses a standard katana as well. He has a big mouth, and while he's a bit smarter than Air Grady, he's not as brute strong as he is. He apparently doesn't know this, and believes that he is just as strong as his leader, Marcus of Anti-Boon. There is nothing more that interests him than women, but since he hangs out with his more attractive friend, Air Grady, he usually gets the short end of the stick. No pun intended.

Hiei is a Mercury, or water adept.

“I call the chick with DD.”

Zagar

An clumsy member of anti-boon, being the complete cannon fodder of the terrorist group. He uses a katana like most everyone else in Fef, but is not very well trained in combat at all. When he tried robbing a grocery store, he reached into his jacket for a pistol, but it slipped in his hands and landed at the cashier's desk. He was then chased out with bullets going his way instead of the cashier's.

"Well, I saw that go through my mind in a different way…”

Leon

A Lieutenant Colonel who uses dual pistols with superb accuracy and the ability to fire them rapidly. He completly out-ranks others in the Military in the use of light-weight fire arms, which no one could guess by meeting him outside of a battle. A flirt who is occasionaly called feminine, Leon jumps the gun once he meets a woman to try to get her in his pants. It rarley works. With his loud personality, it was a wonder why Jaffar made him a Lieutenant Colonel.

Chapter 1

Santi searched through the trash dumpster in an alley in the evening. The alley being in the city known as Fef. Santi sighed when he took out his hands from the dirty trash after many minutes of searching, “Damn. My porn stash was thrown in here somewhere…someone probably already took it. Today sure was a crummy day. I need to hit the bar…”

Santi then heard footsteps echoing down in the alley that he was in. He looked towards his right, and saw a figure, but it was so dark he couldn’t see the person, only the shape. “So, here is another. My blade, it quenches the blood of boons.” It spoke.

Santi gasped, “Oh, no! You’re the---No!!” He ran off in the opposite direction of the dark figure, and as he did, another shadow appeared on the other end of the alley. Santi was trapped, the new shadow spoke, “Heh. Sir, do you want this one?”

“Oh, you’re being so kind to me today. I’ll gladly do this one.” The other one said, “I shall rid this world of boons. For great justice.”

“Terminate it.”

“AAAH-NOOOO!” Santi screamed, as he blackened out, and wouldn’t wake up again.

---

Jaffar opened up the back car door to one of Fef’s Military Police cars, and stepped out into the cool midnight atmosphere. When he closed the door, Neo met him, a Lt. Colonel of Fef’s Military. He saluted with a cigarette in his mouth, rarely seen without one, “Colonel.”

Jaffar nodded back, and Neo put his arm back down, “What is it this time?”

“It’s another murder from the serial killer. The victim has the same mark on his forehead as the others, this one is Santi.” Neo answered, as the two walked into the alley, going under the yellow police tape. Jaffar sighed at the scene, a pool-like stain of blood surrounded Santi’s body, lying face-down on the cement. His body had been butchered with katana marks, his clothes torn to shreds.

At Santi’s body, was Pendant with a camera and various kits, with her being the Head of Fef’s CSI Organization. She stood up when she noticed Jaffar entered the alley. “Cause of death?” Asked Jaffar.

“Well, Santi survived all the cuttings on his body, then the killer slit his throat after all that.” Pendant said, “And if you see here…” She raised Santi’s face to face Jaffar, and she pointed at Santi’s forehead, “The same mark as the other victims.”

“Sixth one this week alone.” Neo said, and blew out a smoke ring. Jaffar shook his head, “The people are in panic. We need to catch him.”

“What makes you think it’s a him?” Pendant asked.

“I know that mark. It’s the mark of…” Jaffar sighed, “The Anti-Boon Organization.”

“Anti-Boon?” Zidane walked in, another member of the CSI with plastic gloves on, carrying a small bottle in one hand, “Isn’t that founded by…”

“Yup.” Neo said knowing what Zidane was going to say, “Watcha got there?” He pointed one finger at the bottle, with the other hand holding the cigarette. Zidane held the top of it with two fingers, showing the inside of it, which had a sliver of silver in it. “Found this on the other side. I think it’s the blade of the katana, got scraped on the cement floor or the brick wall, either way, it’s a considerable chunk of metal.”

“So?” Neo asked, “Doubt you can get any prints on it, and blades are made of common material.”

“No, that’s not it.” Pendant said, “The Anti-Boon organization dip their blades into their own blood before they are certified. If this really was the work of Anti-Boon, which it probably is, then we can find out who the serial killer is.”

“Well, Anti-Boon isn’t exactly a non-violent organization.” Neo said, “They’re all killers.”

“But we got most of them under our custody.” Jaffar said, “Most of them are at the jail at HQ, some of them being Air Grady, Hiei, Zagar…”

“Zagar was a piece of cake to find.” Leon said, walking onto the scene with fairly-transparent sunglasses on, also wearing a Military uniform, like Jaffar and Neo’s, “Didn’t we find him in the park on a sunny afternoon? Stealing candy from a baby.”

“What was he doing? Zidane asked.

“Stealing candy from a baby.” Neo said, “Fortunately the baby beat the crap out of him with a stuffed animal.” He turned his attention to Leon, “Lt. Colonel. What brings you here? You usually don’t show up for these things at all.”

“Actually I wasn’t going to show up, but just thought I’d stop by and tell you we caught another Anti-Boon at Greth’s bar. Had a brawl with Fado while I was having a drink there, name’s uhh…Darksushi.”

“What was his parents thinking when they named him?” Jaffar asked, “Well, best go to HQ and give this guy a talk. Got any info out of him yet?”

“His favorite color is blue.”

“Greaaat.” Jaffar sighed, “Back to work then. I’ll see all of you tomorrow.” Jaffar walked off, he knew he’d have a summon from the Four Leaders of Fef; Rock, JediSSJ, Psio, and Eaichu. He, Colonel of Fef’s military, wasn’t doing too well, he hadn’t stopped the frequent serial killings yet, and the people were nervous. When he sat back down in the back seat of his MP car, he closed the door and the driver drove off towards HQ.

Chapter 2

The next morning, Jaffar got out of bed at Military HQ, washed, got dressed, and grabbed his katana. All of the Fef Military used Katanas as their main weaponry of choice, with a few exceptions. Leon and Neo, two of Jaffar’s three Lt. Colonels, used Fire-Arms. If combat became close, they were then forced to use their katanas, which rarely happens.

Then again, all of the Military were adepts, so it wasn’t like his Lt. Colonels were cheaters in combat. Anything could happen. His other Lt. Colonel? Oh, that was-

“Colonel.” Jaffar’s door was knocked as he was tucking up his collar. “Enter,” He said, and Garet opened up the door. Jaffar nodded at his guest, “Lt. Colonel. What is it that has you come down here to me so early?”

“Sir, it’s like, 11 in the morning…” Garet said, “Um, anyway, our Leaders would like to have a talk with you whenever you’re ready in their hall.”

Jaffar sighed, “Summons, huh? Knew this was going to happen sooner or later.”

“Is it the serial killings, Colonel?”

“Oh course it’s the serial killings.” Jaffar sighed again, “We really need to get that under control. Thanks, go do what you were doing before now.”

“Yes, Colonel.” Garet saluted then closed the door.

---
Jaffar took the stairs down the HQ, and after a few minutes of walking down the long halls, arrived in the lobby. At the secretary desk, Leon was leaning on the table speaking to the secretary, Crystal. “So, do you like air?” He asked her.

“Um…yeah?” Crystal asked, uncertain what the point of that was. Leon gasped, “Omigosh, I do too! We’re so alike! What about water?”

Before Crystal could answer another stupid question, the phone on her desk rang, but Leon’s hand beat her to the handle. “Let me get that for you,” He said with a gleaming smile. He put the ear-piece to his ear, “Lt. Colonel Leon here.”

“Leon, quit your pathetic thing you call flirting and get to work.” Jaffar said on the pay-phone on the opposite wall of the secretary desk. Leon turned as white as a ghost and dropped the phone without putting it back, then spun around and saluted. Crystal silently put her phone back on the holder.

“C-Colonel Jaffar! Good morning! How are you today? Wait…did you just pay to call me when we’re in the same room?” Leon asked. Jaffar walked over to him and Crystal with his hands in his pockets, “That’s right, you owe me 5 gold. Pay me when I get back from City Hall.”

“City Hall? Sir, what are you--?”

“Don’t pretend like you care.” He turned towards Crystal, “Crystal, anything come in for me?”

“No, just I sent Garet to tell you that the Leaders want to see you. I guess you already got that if you’re going to City Hall.” She said, “But we do have a new recruit.” She pointed at a boy with a withdrawn katana, striking at air, as if there was an enemy in front of him. “Name?” Jaffar asked.

“It’s Bosco.” Crystal answered him, and Bosco came walking when his name was said, as Crystal continued, “He’s a little weird, but…well, you’ll see.”

“Anyone call my name?” Bosco asked, as he tied his braggart to his waist. Jaffar nodded, “Bosco, eh? Good with the blade?”

“I try my best,” He whispered towards Crystal, “Whose he?” Though everyone heard him.

“Colonel Jaffar.” Jaffar answered his question himself, and Bosco jumped from his hearing, and the answer, “T-THE Colonel?! Leader of Fef’s Military!? Aka Blood Bath Blade!? Oh shit!” He saluted, bowed, kow-towed, folded his hands, he wasn’t sure how to do this military stuff. “Whoa, I think you can stop there.” Leon said as he was about to execute Seppuku.

“Yes, Sir!” He said and stood up, after performing another bow.

“We sure got a winner.” Jaffar said under his breath. “Well…if you got any questions, kid, just ask Crystal here or anyone else around here…watch out for the hazing though.” He eyed at Leon harshly as he said the last part. Leon shrugged it off with an innocent smile, then pretended to hang himself with invisible rope when Jaffar turned around to exit the HQ.

---

A few minutes later Jaffar exited his MP car and closed the door, then walked up City Hall’s stairs. When he entered he continued walking straight ahead until he came to a large set of doors, guarded by two MP officers. The MP Officers recognized the Colonel immediately and opened the doors, then saluted. Jaffar saluted back and entered the large room. The room was dark, only a lampshade in the middle of the room gave the room some light. Under it was a chair, which Jaffar walked up to and sat in.

When he did the lampshade became a tad brighter, enough that Jaffar could see the wall in front of him, with one long desk where four people sat in royal uniform. From left to right sat Psio, Rock, JediSSJ, and Eaichu. JediSSJ tapped his pen on a piece of paper, “Colonel Jaffar, we got reports of what happened last night…another killing? Any idea who the serial killer is yet?”

“I have my inklings, sir.” Jaffar simply said, “The mark is of the Anti-Boon, as for the one member who did it…Pendant and the CSI are currently examining the DNA on a small piece of blade of the Anti-Boon that we found in the alley. It should have the blood of the killer…”

“But what will you do then?” Psio asked, “Not like we have trackers of each member of the Anti-Boon.”

“We’re still looking for all members of that organization, sir.” Jaffar said, “In fact, we caught one just last night at Greth’s bar.”

“I doubt that is the killer though. Darksushi, is it?” Psio read a piece of paper on the desk, “Doesn’t sound like an intimidating member.”

“I had the same reaction, sir. But you never know.” Jaffar said.

“Still, what is your inkling, then, as you said before?” Eaichu asked, “Cure my curiosity.”

Jaffar looked over at Eaichu, “If I’d have to guess, I would say it would be either Zephyr or Marcus.” The Military Colonel said, “Or another high-skilled member, the way they killed the victims, all the strokes were very fast. No ordinary person can do that.”

“Zephyr and Marcus? The leaders, then. Leaders doing the killing even though they have lackeys?” Rock said, confused.

“Anti-Boon isn’t very well-organized. And if you ask me Marcus and Zephyr are going on a killing spree, they aren’t fully sane, as you may know, sirs.” Jaffar explained, “Anything else?”

“There’s still the matter of finding Zephyr and Marcus.” Psio said, “Any ideas?”

“Marcus will come to me, I’m sure. Zephyr, well, I don’t know what to say, sir. They usually do things in pairs.” Jaffar said, and stood up. “If there’s anything else…”

Rock shook his head, “No, that is all. Good day, and good luck, Colonel. I’m sure we’ll be in touch with your again shortly.”

Jaffar saluted, then walked off and exited the room. Rock, Psio, and JediSSJ got up, and exited through the back, but Eaichu stayed while reading the reports. He gave a faint smile, then got up and left.

---

Garet swung his wooden sword at Reaver, who dodged the blow cleanly and jumped back, out of Garet’s range. The two were practicing at the Training room at the Military HQ, with others leaning against the wall, watching the match as the two danced on the large blue mat. Whenever their wooden swords hit each other, it made a loud crack that could be heard anywhere in the large room. Neo lit his cigarette as Reaver nearly missed another attack from Garet. “Hey, this is a no-smoking room.”

“Lt. Apocolypse…” Neo continued his smoke, “Have you ever seen Garet fight?”

“What does that have to do with anything?”

“Sigh, look.”

Garet sneered as he missed Reaver again, “That’s it! Try this on!” He threw out his hand and psynergy waves flowed around his body, then flames erupted, burning the air. It became a stream and soared towards Reaver, who quickly reacted by slamming his hand at the ground, and summoned a large block of earth to rip out from the ground and block the fire wave from reaching him.

“If he can do that, I can light a cigarette in this room, Apoc.” Neo said. Apocolypse sighed, “Well, this isn’t exactly a psynergy room, Lt. Colonel.”

“Well, the walls and mats are fire-proof, and whenever earth is ripped out of it…” He pointed as Reaver withdrew the wall of earth he just created, and the blue mat was still there, as if nothing came out of it, “It somehow returns to its original form. Don’t ask me how.” He said as Apoc looked curious how it worked. “But that classifies this room as a fairly good psynergy training room.”

“Hey, don’t we have some ball coming up here at HQ in the next couple of days?” Bryars asked.

“That’s tonight.” Apocolypse said, “How can you not know that? There are posters all over the place here. And you live here.”

“GAH! Tonight!? I gotta get a date and a suit and a…” Bosco freaked out, and started blabbering stuff, all of which Bryars ignored, “Kid, don’t worry about it. All it really is is just a perfectly legal excuse for us to get drunk tonight.”

“And besides,” Neo chuckled, “You got guard duty tonight at the jail. Rough first day, huh? Ha ha.” He laughed as he saw Bosco’s reaction.

“B-But I’m just a newbie…”

“Not like you’ll be the only one.” Bryars said, “Just one of like, three people. And you’re under-age for drinking, aren’t you? Then again, there is no drinking age here at Fef…”

The group except for Bosco gave a, “Hoo-Hah!” at the same time, more in a lazy relaxed tone than an excited one. Bosco continued watching Reaver throw a stone spire at Garet, which Reaver had created out of thin air. Bosco then looked at his watch, he growled, “Dammit, it’s almost four…Lt. Colonel, when does my shift begin tonight?”

“Two.” Neo answered, which made Bosco jump ten feet high up. “Better get going before our scary Colonel gets his hands on you.”

But Bosco was already out the training room’s doors as Neo said, “Get”. Apocolypse looked up at Neo, as Apocolypse was sitting down on a chair, “When does his shift really begin?”

“Five, but he doesn’t need to know that.”

Chapter 3

It was the night of the Military’s ball, and most of the Military were in the Cafeteria, with all the tables moved out of the large room. The military had changed from their uniforms to tuxes or dresses, some just wore what they casually did. Seahawk wore a black dress. No one wanted to ask why.

A lot of the crowd was on the dance-floor with partners, dancing to the ball-room like music performed by Hatake’s band, which somehow managed to play both classical with piano and rock. But mostly classical piano stuff, which Jaffar ordered, with the ball being a…ball? But a few people were also at Greth’s bar-cart. The few being the same group that was watching Reaver and Garet’s match earlier, short one member, being Bosco, who was on his shift for jail-guard.

---

At the Jail, Bosco held the handle of his katana while walking down the hall of the cells. Two other MP Officers were sitting at their room of the entrance of the jail, reading magazines and watching TV while Bosco took a walk around.

It wasn’t really scary for Bosco, it was well-lit, and the bars were large and strong. Then again, so wasn’t Air Grady, who was laying on his cot, listening to some Fef rap on a walkman. Hiei, his cellmate, was reading Santi’s porn magazines, flipping through the pages, It didn’t seem to be interesting to him.

As Bosco walked by, Hiei looked up, snickering, “Hey, Air Grady, look at the boon guard the Military got.”

Air Grady sat up, instead of looking up at the ceiling. When he saw Bosco, he shrugged, “Yeah, he’s a boon. Most of the military is. So?”

“H-Hey! No insulting the military while I’m ‘round here!” Bosco said, hitting the bars with his braggart, “Y’got that?”

“Oh. I see what you mean.” Air Grady said, without Hiei answering him. “Booooon.”

---

Neo had an unlit cigarette in one hand, and a small cup of whisky in the other, sitting on a bar-stool at Greth’s mini-bar in the ball-room. Bryars’s head was on its side, resting on the bar shelf. His face was slightly red, from the amount of alcohol he had consumed. Apocalypse turned his head and looked at Bryars straight in the eye, “Dude, why do you do this every time? Always get wasted.”

“Yeah, and…and your mom was…me and your mom had a BLAST last night, bub.” Bryars rasply said, holding an empty whisky cup, “Hahahaha…”

“Sad.” Apocalypse shook his head in disappointment, then spun his barstool around to watch the dance-floor. Somehow Leon had managed to get Crystal insane or drunk enough to dance with him, one of the rare times Apocalypse saw the Lt. Colonel in a tux. Watching the two slow-dance was boring, especially with the nervous look on both of their faces, their first date. Or maybe they were just going as friends, like Seahawk and…Fado? Er, forget that, even though one of them was in a dress…

“Hey, what’s with Seahawk tonight?” Apocalypse asked anyone at the bar. After a few seconds of awkward silence, Neo answered, “It’s his dream. As for Fado…um…Seahawk is a convincing she.”

“Poor kid.” Apocalypse said, “Not even in the military. Either Sea asked him out, or…” Apocalypse shivered, he couldn’t bear the thought of either one in his head. Imagining that happening to him, or even worse, the person being a convincing female.

---

“What is up with all of you and your philosophy of boons anyway?” Bosco asked, still annoyed however, from Air Grady and Hiei’s comments. The two jail-mates wer repeating, "Boon, boon," repeatedly as Bosco stood in front of their cell.

“Eh. I’m just in it to beat the crap out of the military.” Hiei said, “The whole boon thing was Marcus and Zephyr’s ideas. And Anti-Boon is pretty catchy, too. Anti-Boon, Anti-Boon…”

“I gotta write me an album to that.” Air Grady said, “Inspiring, Hiei. Really, Boon, boon, boon, boon…betcha that’ll hit the billboards.”

“Meh. Might get over-played.” Hiei admitted, as much as he liked the idea. Air Grady shrugged in agreement, “Guess so. But I could always stick a label on it, ‘Inspired by the boon…’ Um…” He looked at the badge Bosco wore that bore his name, which only newbies wore, “Bosco, ‘Inspired by the Boon, Bosco’. Ha ha! Hey, that’s catchy! Boon Bosco!”

“Bosco The Boon.” Hiei nodded his head in rhythm, then pointed at Air Grady, “Patten that, quick.”

The whole time Bosco’s rage grew and grew inside, finally he drew his katana and smashed it against the bars, “Hey!! Shut up already! It’s a crappy song!”

Hiei and Air Grady stopped talking, stared at each other in silence for a few moments, with their mouths wide open. Then they burst out laughing, “Booooooon!”

“GAH! SHUTUP SHUTUP SHUTUP!” Bosco smashed the bars hard with his katana, with a loud bang each time.

Before he knew it, Bosco was surrounded in darkness. The lights all shut off, and the hallways dark. Bosco backed up with his katana still drawn, looking around. He looked back towards where the other two MP Officers were in their room, with the small portable TV on, showing some light. The officers got up, with their braggarts in their hands, knowing as much about the situation as Bosco. Before Bosco could yell to them, another person entered the small station room and drew a sword, then attacked the two unsuspected Officers.

They screamed, and their blood painted over the glass walls. Bosco gasped, and starting to step backwards slowly, which broke into a run.

---

Back at the ball-room, Jaffar was at the entrance, with a tux on, arms crossed over and leaning against the wall. He rubbed his forehead, all this of the serial killings was irritating him, and this ball with the live music and everything wasn’t even helping him keep his mind off of it. Pendant entered the ball room with a long velvet dress on, and caught Jaffar in her eye. She walked up to him, “Guess I’m a little late.”

Jaffar stopped rubbing his forehead and stared at her, “Huh? Late for what?”

“Well, I was talking about the ball, but this works too.” She handed him a piece of paper, “From DNA. The piece of blade that Zidane found at Santi’s scene, it matched with Marcus’ DNA.”

“Knew it.” Jaffar said, reading over the piece of paper. Pendant looked disappointed, “Wait, you knew!?”

“No, just a guess. I didn’t mean…yeah.” Jaffar shrugged, “So now…I just need a scene to get Marcus to me. Then-“ Jaffar stopped in mid-sentence, leaving Pendant confused about her Colonel’s odd stop, “…eh?”

“I detect psynergy.” Jaffar said, holding his head with one hand, “Psynergy…Mars, fire psynergy? You feel it?”’

Pendant looked confused for a second, then looked alert.

“Y-Yeah, I feel it too…wait, but if I can feel it that close, then-“ Coincidently, both of them stopped on the word, “Then”, Pendant’s excuse being the right ball-room wall being blasted open with the Blast Psynergy from the outside. Immediately, everyone screamed and panicked, all the non-Military citizens running out the exit, with Jaffar and Pendant running towards the blast instead of away from it.

The large-ball room wasn’t fully evacuated, even when the smoke started to clear a little. But when Garet walked up to the scene, a crystal spire shot at him from the clearing smoke. He had little time to quick-draw his katana that had flames roaring from it, and block the bullet-like crystal. He then used more Psynergy and blasted a large wave of fire at the almost transparent smoke, but a large blue barrier stopped it from coming any closer.

“Enough of this smoke, I’m on the patch because Neo smokes so much around me.” Leon said and finally blew away the smoke with a gust of strong wind, now the ball-room was cleanly evacuated, leaving only Fef’s military at the scene. And the group responsible for the explosion, which was now clear. Air Grady and Hiei smiled with drawn katanas in their hands, and a fire-ball hovering above Air Grady’s palm. The blue barrier was being casted by whom Jaffar recognized as, Marcus. He smiled with other Anti-Boon members behind him, “Hello, children. Thought I’d stop by for a dance.”

Chapter 4

The entire ballroom was left with only the active Military Soldiers who were at it, being Jaffar, Pendant, Neo, Leon, Apocalypse, Bryars, Garet, Reaver, and…Seahawk. “Bryars, Leon, Apocalypse, go and scan the rest of HQ, I doubt that Marcus would only attack the Ball itself.” Jaffar ordered. As the three saluted and ran off, Jaffar turned towards Marcus, “I don’t remember sending you an invite.”

Marcus frowned, “I know! Just how could you forget about little ol’ me? I brought some friends though, that ok?” He pointed his thumb at Air Grady, Hiei, Darksushi, Bloodrain, and lastly, Zagar. Who was playing with a yo-yo. “Sorry about the rude entrance, I just couldn’t find the doors…” Marcus explained. “I see you recognize some of my pals here, they’ve been crashing at your place for a while, but the accommodations just were not to their liking.”

“Well, unfortunately, none of your names are on the list.” Jaffar said, “But, this does have its plus-sides. Marcus, you’re wanted for suspected murder of Santi, and several other killings across the city of Fef. I take it you won’t surrender and come quietly?”

“Killings!? Oh my.” Marcus giggled, “Sorry, but I saw the rooms you give to the people you don’t like too much. Little cagey-feel to it, and who knows what’s growing there…and I just can’t let you get away with giving my home-slices poor rooming.” He looked over at Air Grady, “Did I pronounce that right?”

“It was aight.” Air Grady shrugged. “You put the, ‘Ho’, in, ‘Ghetto’

“Is that a compliment?” Marcus asked, and Air Grady shrugged again, “Whatever you want.”

Marcus smiled and looked back at Jaffar, “Now, it’s time for me and my pretties to clean up the Military around here! You just have too many boons around here, consider this a toll-free extermination!”

“You’re the only things that’ll get exterminated!” Seahawk said, still in a dress.

“That’s a come-back?” Neo asked, his cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Seahawk nervously looked around the room then at Neo, “U-Uhh…yeah.”

“Sigh.” Neo used psynergy, and the sand in the air came towards him, and took the shape of a shot-gun in his hands. The sand-shotgun was quite solid too, harder than a rock. Neo raised the gun to his eye-line then pulled the trigger, shooting a large earth-bullet at the Anti-Boons, the size of a base-ball.

Zagar pulled out his katana and swung at the large-bullet, which only broke his sword in half. “Well, I saw that go through my mind in a different way…” He growled, and charged as the other Anti-Boons did, excluding Marcus. Hiei slammed his hand at the ground, which shot out dozens of large crystal-spikes from the ground, charging towards the Military. Garet grit his teeth and did the same as Hiei, but instead a large wave of fire erupted at the charging crystal spikes, melting them.

Garet stood back up satisfied, but didn’t see the large pulse of rushing water flying at him, which sent him flying all the way to the other side of the ball-room. Marcus blew his fingers, smiling. However, he noticed a slight change in the temperature, and it wasn’t from the mass of water he just shot out at Garet, or any use of psynergy at all. A large shadow was engulfing him. He quickly drew his katana and spun around and parried Jaffar’s own katana, being used by no other, Jaffar. Marcus gave a fake gasp, “My, my! You know that is dangerous!” He said, as the two swords were being grinded against each other.

“Marcus, you idiot. Surrender and you won’t get hurt.” Jaffar said, pushing his blade against Marcus’s. Marcus smiled, “Oh come on, I can’t do that and you know it. That’ll classify me as a boon. Which is what you’ve grown to be!” He then casted psynergy, which causted Jaffar to react by creating a shield made of wind in front of him, splashing the large and powerful blast of water that Marcus shot at him. But the blast was so long-lasting and powerful at the same time, the shield broke, and Jaffar was sent flying out of the ball-room, into the park outside.

Marcus quickly casted more psynergy and froze the water blast that he summoned, while Jaffar was in mid-air, and froze his torso as well. Jaffar was stuck, he tried chopping the over-sized icicle, but it wouldn’t bust. He continued as Marcus walked under him, smiling from the couple dozen feet below Jaffar, “Jaffar, you silly boon. I think it’s time someone got what they paid for~”

---
Bryars struggled running down the empty hallways, being faintly drunk. He half-tripped several times, then finally cured himself by using water psynergy. The first time he did it, he almost killed himself by casting the wrong water psynergy, tundra. He realized his mistake half a second he was in the middle of casting it, and then did the correct healing Mercury spell. When he caught up with Leon and Apocalypse, he was panting heavily, “W-Where do we go? Colonel Jaffar wasn’t…wasn’t very specific…”

“Ok, I’m an Anti-Boon member. I want to kill as many boons as I can. Where do I go at the Military HQ?” Apocalypse asked, “The ball-room has already been evacuated, and we haven’t ran into any bodies yet…”

“The jail.” Leon said, “Not all of them were Anti-Boons.”

“But by the looks of it they’ve already broken some of them out, Air Grady, Zagar, Hiei…” Apocalypse counted with his fingers, “We’re probably too late by the time we get there.”

“Let’s check it out anyway.” Bryars said, “No harm. You can teleport us, right, Lt. Colonel?”

“Oh, that’s right.” Leon said, adjusting his sunglasses. Apocalypse almost fell over, “Why are we running when you can teleport!?”

“Forgot about that, jeez! Whatever, everyone gather ‘round…” Leon said, as Bryars and Apocalypse only dared to take one more step forward. “And tap your shoes together and say three times, ‘There is no place like home, there is no pl-‘”

“Lt. Colonel, if we could just skip the…”

“Right.” Leon snapped his fingers, and the three vanished from the hallway.

---
Apocalypse held his stomach with both his arms, “Argh…now I know what my stomach tastes like…” He looked around, and saw a bed, a window that over-looked the Military’s courtyard, and an open closet full of dresses.

“Lt. Colonel, this is Crystal’s room…” Bryars sighed, pointing at a picture of her and her family on the wall.

“Oh.” Leon blankly said, “That was the first thing that popped into my mind. My bad.” He snapped his fingers again, and the three again, vanished.

---
“I’m so glad I’m not a wind adept…teleporting…it…oh god, the walls are about to get painted with my insides…” Apocalypse groaned, with the same reaction as before. “Suck it up,” Bryars said, “I had more to drink than you and I’m cool.”

“Looks like this place isn’t, though.” Leon said, as the three were at the entrance of the jail, and he pointed at the Security Room inside, which got a new shade of red on its windows and walls. Apocalypse blinked, “Not…well, that’s not a welcoming sign.”

“Let’s move. Clean-up duty for us.” Leon said, loading his pistol, “I’d better get my salary doubled for this.”

The three ran through the busted-down door, and Leon took out a small flash-light and attached it to his pistol and searched down the long and dark cell-hallway while Bryars took a peek in the Security office. “Well…those two are missing some important organs…and how wonderful, Anti-Boon didn’t forget to put their trade-mark on their forehead.”

“Blech.” Apocalypse stuck out his tongue, disgusted. “Hmn? Hey guys, you hear that?”

Bryars stepped out of the bloody small room and into the cell hallway again, “Hmn? What’s that?”

“Katana clashing. Or some kind of metal. Down the corner.” Leon said, “Looks like we got some survivors. Let’s move, but watch out for fugitives…they can jump out of nowhere.”

“Narrow hallway though, only place they can come from is either above from the ceiling tiles or the jail cells on either side of us.” Apocalypse said as the three walked down the jail hallway cautiously, then drew his katana, “But eh…We should’ve gotten back-up. Just the three of us can’t take on whatever else Marcus is packing. Look, they already killed some guys in the cells here…urgh…”

“If worse comes to worse we can always retreat by teleporting.” Leon said, now taking the turn down the hallway, and flashed his flashlight down the corridor. He screamed, and then shot his pistol repeatedly and backed up. With each shot Apocalypse and Bryars could hear flesh being shot at. Bryars drew his katana as well, “L-Lt. Colonel! What is it!?”

“B-B-B…false alarm.” He said, as he adjusted his glasses again and looked over the hallway again, leaning against the wall. Apocalypse sighed, “Lt. Colonel! You just can’t do that to us. What was it?” He stood up and walked down the hallway, and saw a body being hung by a rope from the ceiling, some jail captive in uniform with shackles on ankles and wrists. Leon shot it four times in the torso, but he was already dead long ago. Apocalypse held the vomit from his stomach and walked past it, which then he smashed his katana against another metal object, as a loud Clang echoed from it, and sparks flew briefly. Apocalypse then stepped back and smashed metal with metal again, but stayed in one spot this time, pushing his blade against whatever was attacking him.

Bryars and Leon narrowed their eyes and pushed the dead carcass out of their way and saw who Apocalypse was grinding his katana against, a kid in a Military uniform who was a little younger than all of them. Leon lowered both his pistols and Bryars lowered his katana also. “Bosco, drop your weapon, that’s Lt. Apocalypse!” Bryars commanded, as Leon shined his flashlight at the side of Apocalypse’s rock-hard face.

Bosco gasped and stepped back, but still held his weapon, trembling. His sword shook as much as he was. He pointed the blade away from the group and bowed heavily, “I-I-I’M SO SORRY!!!”

“It’s alright. Least you’re still alive, next time use some psynergy or something to alert us to find you around here, we thought you were dead.” Bryars said, seeing the state of shock Bosco was in, he was barley strong enough to stand on his two feet. Blood spatter was on his face and clothes too, “You ok there?” Leon asked, pointing out the red. Bosco looked at it, then quickly and nervously shook his head, “N-No. I mean yes, it’s n-not mine…”

“Shit, you killed a guy!?” Apocalypse asked, surprised. Bosco nervously looked behind his back, shivering, “I-I dunno…I just I…hid behind there and…a-and then h-he came and I hit him w-when he wasn’t lookin’…”

“Little brat, you won’t get away with that!” A voice yelled down the dark hall, and Leon immediately aimed his guns above Bosco’s shoulder, “Kid, get down, now!” His body was submerged in psynergy waves as he shot both his pistols down the hallway, each shot giving off a little spark of light from Leon’s pistols. He then stopped, still using psynergy. As he squinted his eyes, Bryars looked at him, “Sir, did you hit?”

“He’s not hurt.” Leon said, “It’s Zephyr, here he comes!”

Bryars heard the noise of psynergy being casted from the other side of the hallway and he immediately put both his hands out, palms facing out. A large blue barrier stuck out in front of the four, as several large spires ripped out from the earth and collided into the blue barrier, which barley withstood the earth attack. Zephyr could be heard down the hallway, “My, my! So the Military has another Wind Adept, one who can read minds! Not bad, but my mind won’t be so easy to break into fully!”

“I wouldn’t want to go that far into your twisted mind.” Leon said, “Although I’d really like to know how Bosco, a new-recruit and not yet fully-trained member of the Military, managed to strike at and successfully hit the all-powerful sub-leader of Anti-Boon!”

He looked back at Bosco, “No offence, kid.”

“None taken.”

“Not like I didn’t heal myself afterwards.” Zephyr yelled, “That brat is going to get what he deserves. Although, he ran away right after he struck at me, which is supposed to begin a fight! That classifies himself as a boon, and I’ll just have to get him!”

“Well, that sure is one creepy stalker I wouldn’t want on my list.” Apocalypse said, then tried adjusting his eyesight at the darkness in front of him by squinting his eyes. It didn’t help, “Well, if you can’t see him, just blow up all the crap in his area!”

“Taste the pain! Ragnarok!” Apocalypse’s body was flooded with psynergy waves, which he then transferred to his own katana, and swung it at the air in a crushing swing. Several meters away, his katana was shown like a spot-light, and crashed down, apparently onto a jail wall. The attack was so powerful it ripped through the cement and brick wall like it was thin paper. Zephyr’s shadow could be seen in the newly-ripped hole in the wall, which was about four times the size of Zephyr, both height and width. Zephyr waved at them, “Bye-bye! Thanks for the brilliant exit!” Zephyr ran out of the hole, leaving the four Military members baffled, “Dammit! After him!” Leon yelled, as the four ran as fast as they could, with the exception of Bosco, who just…followed nervously.

When they exited the jail via Apocalypse’s accidental hole-in-the-wall, they spun around to their left and now noticed they were in front of the Military’s parking lot. But that wasn’t the big deal; it was Zephyr standing before them all, arms crossed over, snickering. He had reason to smile, he had five friends with him, all aiming fire-arms at the four Military members. Bryars cursed as the four slowly raised their hands up in the air. Zephyr gave a hearty laugh, “Boons never prevail!”
