Chapter 15 Earlier A man with a scarf wrapped around his face had his sniping gun pointed downwards towards a street. He was atop of a large apartment, on the flat roof, laid down. He closed his eyes, and focused his psynergy. After much of this meditating, he opened his eyes quickly and looked down at the large city. He was so high up, he could see so much of Fef. He saw the building his target was located in. More focusing, while putting his eye to the scope and pointing his barrel towards the building, he was able to pinpoint a shadow in one window. His target. He held the trigger, “There!” He squeezed, and an electronic bullet with psynergic attributes was shot from the gun, flew over dozens of buildings, and broke a window from the Military’s main HQ Building. It went further, and went through the shoulder piece of the armor, and into General Rock’s shoulder. The General could feel the bullet hit a bone, he screamed, the only notice at all besides the shattering of glass. The shot was so silent. But it would only get worse, now he could feel his entire nervous system freak out, strong electronic waves were heavily damaging his body. The General fell to the floor with a strong seizure, hitting his head on the floor, bruising many parts of his body. The shock was so strong his armor was damaged. He screamed more, but no one could hear him. The sniper used his psynergy again to silence the air around the General. Now he would suffocate him. He loved doing this, from so far away. His target had no idea what had just happened to him, and now he would die, die in his own building, in front of the Colonel’s door. Oh, yes, the Colonel… “Eh?” The Sniper looked behind him, hearing something. There he saw a man in robes, with a hood covering his face. The sniper pointed his gun at the man, “H-How’d you get here?!” “…………a…………s………k…l” Whispers came out from the man’s mouth, one of the only visible features on his face. The sniper didn’t get it, “Don’t move! I’ll kill you!” “……”, The hooded man held his palm out towards the sniper, and psynergy flowed through his body. The sniper now realized who this was, with the stance he was giving him. He stood up, he had to flee. “The Legendary Hero!!” The sniper exclaimed, “I’m sorry, but I don’t have enough time to chat!” He jumped down the building before the massive gush of water slammed at him. The water flew off the building like a waterfall, but went so far out. The sniper went straight down the building, clapped his hands, used psynergy, and teleported away out of thin air. The hooded man looked down the building, and grunted slightly. What he said was inaudible. --- Sentenal wanted to stab his eyes out at this point. He had recently been over-flowed with interrogations, none of them being that great. He had been unable to get any solid information from anyone at all, and here came his hardest character, who just was escorted through the interrogation door, Marcus. The same sly look was worn on the Anti-Boon leader’s face, even as he sat down across the table from Sentenal. After a long moment of just the two staring at each other, Sentenal began, “How are you doing today?” “The food kinda sucks. But other than that, I’m feeling super. You, Major?” “Enough about me, how about you? Had any of your boon visions?” Sentenal yawned, he really was not in the mood for this. “Me? No, but the guy a couple cells down from me was talking in his sleep. Something about some girl, made me really creepy, y’know, Major? That feeling? Like in College when you stepped into your dorm room only to find your roommate sleeping with your English teacher?” “How’d you—“ “So you got that guy’s ID#? Be nice if y’know, we could speak.” He examined his fingernails, he had to get them cut, “Think I know him.” “Couple cells down from you?” Sentenal looked at a couple pieces of paper, and spoke, “Well, this is a psynergy-restricted room with all the cells and everything, so don’t try anything funny.” “Oh, Major. Since when do I do anything funny?” “Gosh, let me think.” Sentenal had too much sarcasm for one day already. “Anyway, I guess we’ll bring him in if he said something that got your attention, besides his sexual fantasies.” “Major, you really don’t get me at all…” “But while we’re waiting,” Sentenal eyed Marcus suspiciously, “What do you really want with this guy, eh?” Marcus looked back at the officer with no guilt in his eyes. He simply smiled a bit, “Oh, I just think I recognize his voice is all, Major. Friendly cell-mates are nice to have.” Sentenal didn’t buy it for a second. Marcus was the guy who always knew too much for his own good, and for some reason, always DID know what was going on. Sentenal wanted to call off bringing in the other prisoner, but what could Marcus possibly do? There were armed men waiting outside the doors if he did anything out of the ordinary. Then again, for Marcus, strangling a man with his handcuffs was quite ordinary. Before the bored officer knew it, the door that Marcus had entered through opened again. A prisoner with the standard orange prisoner uniform entered the room with handcuffs on, looking very emotionless. When he stared at the Major, he nodded slowly, then when he saw Marcus, he simply stared at him for a long while. Marcus had a large smile, “Why, just who I thought it was!” “Marcus, sit at that end of the table, Sir…Bob,” He read the name tag on Bob’s breast pocket, “Please sit at the other.” Sentenal set up the seats so that the two would sit as far from each other as possible while at the table, while he sat between them. Sentenal waved away the armed guard who closed the door again, leaving him with the two prisoners. After everyone knew fully well that bob did not wish to speak after half a minute, Sentenal stood up, “Excuse me, gentlemen. I need to go gather some papers from Bob’s profile…” He exited the room, with the two in a cold eye-locked contest. Marcus spoke, “Where were you?” Bob didn’t change his expression at all, “Hm?” “When I attacked this place a couple weeks ago. I came searching for you, silly man.” Said Marcus in a more serious tone, “But Zephyr said you were nowhere to be found in the jails.” “Oh.” Bob’s memory seemed to have suddenly returned to him, “I guess he didn’t see me.” “Or you were hiding?” “Maybe yes, maybe not.” --- On The Night Of The Raid “Where is that fool!?” Zephyr walked down the hallways of the jail, while many anti-boons were slaughtering prisoners. He walked past a man in all camo, pants, shirt, hat, stuff that you would find at a local K-Mart. The man laughed, “Ha ha. Now you can’t see me.” “Hm? Did this wall say something just now while I walked past it?” Zephyr looked over his shoulder. “Nope. Just keeeep walking forward, sonny.” “Kay.” --- Marcus could guess that the man in front of him was in fact present at the time of his attack, and knew full well that he was searching for this prisoner. He didn’t like it when people lied in front of his face, but he shook it off, “So, how have you been over here?” “Food sucks.” “Really? I thought it tasted almost as good as…the blood of boons.” Marcus snickered. When he said this statement, Bob snapped from his loose-attitude and locked eyes with Marcus, “W-What’d you say?” “Hm? Oh, did I get your attention, Professor Tomato?” Bob grit his teeth, “Don’t call me that here,” but quickly loosened up again, after staring at the cold floor for a while, “How…many did you get?” “In the past weeks, I’d say…” He counted his fingers, but gave up once he hit twelve, “Gah, go ask our friendly neighborhood officers, I’m sure they got some plaque on the wall. Well over a couple dozen.” “That’s not enough.” Bob said, looking down at the floor. Marcus sighed, “Well, of course. But that’s still over a couple dozen gone, right, Bobbito?” Bob continued looking at the floor, “Even one is incredibly dangerous. I can’t have them out there.” “And look where you ended up.” Marcus put his chin on his fist again, “So, how’d you end up in here? I thought you wanted all the good of all the people for great justice and so forth…” “Had a bad night.” Bob simply said. Behind the one-way window, Seahawk was very interested in the conversation the two were having. He didn’t want to miss a word of it, until now, when they were talking about very simple things. Sentenal stumbled into the room, making the door screech, and some of the men writing down the conversation hissed at Sentenal. The Officer wanted to hiss back, but slowly closed the door with a folder under one arm, and walked up to Seahawk. He opened up the folder and searched through it, “So, do you know who this guy is here?” “I remember him. We arrested him for…picking up prostitutes on Main Street half a year ago.” Seahawk said, “No one bailed him out. Soon after, he assaulted a cell mate that he was with, killing and strangling him with his own handcuffs. And here we are…” “You remember him being arrested, a very minor arrest? How?” Sentenal asked. But he suddenly retracted his statement with a, “Never mind,” After quickly remembering who he was talking too. What a weird and disturbing hobby. “We’re gonna keep tabs on that man.” Seahawk said, “24/7. He has a relationship with Marcus, and it’s strong.” |

Chapter 16 The entire Military Fusion Center had been shifted suddenly onto high-alert when Reaver had punched in the numbers on his phone. The medics had brought Rock to the hospital wing immediately, who was in critical condition. When Rock was brought to the emergency room, the security in the hospital wing had been fortified highly. Zero and Homestardude, two strong Sergeants, were kept in front of the doors of the hospital wing entrance. Only those with ID could pass through into the wing, any others were shoved out. Bryars was the guard in front of the emergency room’s doors. He stood with his arms crossed, and his katana in its braggart by his side. People kept on dashing through the halls with medical supplies in panic, while Rock was being performed on by a doctor inside the room to get the bullet out. The Lt. leaned against the wall, looking up at a TV on the wall in front of him. An anchor on the news station was at her desk, with an icon of General Rock on the top-right corner. The female anchor, Dragon Sniper, reported, “We have just had breaking news that the General of the Military had been shot, General Rock. We have few details, but we are getting word now that the Military is now about to explain the incident in the Military HQ’s conference hall. We bring you there right now.” The news then switched from Dragon Sniper to the conference hall in the HQ, staring at an empty podium. Soon, a man walked up to it, who looked very calm. Bryars’s eyebrow twitched when he saw this. The man was none other than Gojira, who had recently been promoted to Lt. Colonel. Gojira was only a Major when he was promoted to Lt. Colonel, Bryars knew he was next in line along with Apocalypse and Hystrix. He didn’t know Gojira well, but he must be pretty good if Reaver had wanted him to fill the empty Lt. Colonel spot. Reaver said he only wanted one Lt. Colonel by his side, and he fully trusted Gojira at the ceremony, so he said. Gojira spoke, “Hello, people of the press. I come here today to inform you that General Rock had been shot, as I’m sure most of you know that part already. But, to start, General Rock had been inside the HQ, going to Colonel Reaver’s room. Before he opened the door, he was shot in the right shoulder with a psynergy-infused-bullet. Psynergy-infused bullets take much concentration of psynergy, and the window in front of Colonel Reaver’s room had been broken. So with logic, we can say that an unknown sniper had shot the General. It was so powerful it pierced his shoulder-armor, then went into his shoulder. Colonel Reaver saw the General get shot, and called for help immediately. The General is in critical condition, and we are having Fef’s best performing on him now. The psynergy-bullet was the element of Jupiter, flowed with electricity. We have no idea how General Rock’s nervous system is, but we only pray that it can be healed with the proper Mercury Psynergy. If you have any questions, I’ll take them now.” Bryars sighed. He wondered if the old Colonel would have been able to sense the presence of a powerful psynergy-bullet. He had always given off the impression that he could sense anything near him. The Lt. couldn’t stand just being idle there, he had to move around at a time like this. He had also heard that Reaver was holding a meeting with most of the Lts and a couple Majors, which excluded him, for some bizarre reason. Or maybe he really wanted someone capable to guard the General, who knows. And he thought Jaffar was unpredictable. --- Reaver was at the end of one long table in a private conference room. He was standing up, holding both his hands on the table, and looked down the table at the hand-cuffed Marcus, was was sitting across from the also hand-cuffed Bob.(The Tomato) “So?” Reaver asked, staring at Marcus. Marcus looked over at Reaver, with a cool face on, “Oh, so the little spy is the Colonel now? Haha, Jaffy-boy didn’t do a good job…” “That’s enough.” Reaver stopped him, “I brought you here for answers, not comments.” “Answers?” Marcus asked. He had been interrupted earlier from his wonderful reunion with Bob in the comfy interrogation room. Two armed guards told him to follow them to another room, but Sentenal and Seahawk had insisted that Bob should be taken along as well. After some bickering, the Lt. Seahawk had forced Bob to come to the meeting. This room he was now stuck in was a bit more crowded than the Interrogation room. Down the table sat his little enemies, Apocalypse, Hystrix, Sentenal, Seahawk, and that girl he saw at the parking lot…what was her name? Oh um, liked ramen…Earring? Gah, he forgot. Didn’t care, anyway. The two armed guards at the door weren't really intimidating to Marcus. If they were wearing tight spandex pants, well…that’ll just be hot. Or maybe not, they were a bit on the chubby side, hm. “Marcus.” His attention was suddenly turned back to Reaver, who called his name again. Before he knew it, Zephyr was next to him, handcuffed also. Marcus smiled, “Yes, Mister Colonel sir? What do you want from me, now?” “Answers.” Reaver simply said, “Who shot General Rock today?” Marcus raised an eyebrow, then looked over at Zephyr. Zephyr stared back, and both of them cracked up laughing hysterically. Zephyr smashed one hand on the table, laughing his ass off. After a few minutes of letting the two relieve themselves, Marcus immediately cut off his laughing and stared at Reaver, “How should I know? All of AB (Anti-Boon) has been arrested, no? I really am not getting the point, here.” “It takes incredible skill, as much as I’d hate to say it, to give that shot.” Reaver said, “AB is the only gang that could possibly even get close to shooting the General with such a powerful bullet.” “Oh, so the old man is dead, I take it?” Zephyr asked, and was about to crack up again, trying to hide a sneer. “Not dead, he’s in the hospital wing right now.” Reaver informed them, “Major Sentenal here and Lt. Seahawk say that you have lots of information you’ve been spilling out recently. Care to inform us?” Marcus kept his eyebrow raised, “Hmmmmn? Information? Why, no, I’ve just been chatting with my good ol’ chum, Bob here. Splendid fellow, no?” Bob didn’t answer or even really react at all. He stared at the table in a deep gaze. Reaver sighed, sitting down, “And what is his connection with you?” “Drinking buddies, why of course!!” Marcus smiled, “He shared my interest of killing boons. I thought it was slightly disturbing, but also really neato too!! Crazy stuff!” Reaver put one hand over his forehead, rubbing it. He gave a large sigh, then waved his hand to the armed guards, “Take the three away, I have no use for them right now.” One guard saluted, and walked over between Zephyr and Marcus, waiting for the two to stand up. The other stood behind Bob, who immediately stood up slowly and walked over to the door. After watching Bob exit the room with a guard, Marcus gave a quick laugh and did the same, Zephyr followed suit. When the three were finally gone, Reaver grumbled, “Major Sentenal, Lt. Seahawk, I seriously doubt that Marcus was telling the truth at all.” “I agree, Colonel.” Said Seahawk, “We should—“ “Execute them.” Reaver demanded, quite suddenly. Everyone’s reaction in the room was the same, complete shock. Apocalypse spoke first, “Colonel! They all still have plenty of information left!” “We can still milk them, Colonel! We got so much information in today alone!” Sentenal said, “Marcus claims that boons are some kind of…I’m not sure yet, but I know that Bob has some answers to clear—“ “Enough.” The Colonel commanded, breaking the arguments that were about to be raised up. “Only AB would have enough skill, like I said, to pull off a stunt like what we saw today. We don’t know that we arrested all of them at The Casino.” “Colonel Reaver, we have all the information of the group that you acquired yourself at The Casino,” Pendant said, “According to the disk, we have indeed captured each and every AB member.” “That was an old and out-dated disk. I was lucky to find even that.” Reaver argued, “There are more out there.” “You don’t know that!” Apocalypse said. “Watch it, Lt.” Reaver warned, “Try saying ‘sir’, by addressing your superior officer.” Apocalypse growled, what a slap in the face, “Sir.” He said, gritting his teeth, “You don’t know for sure that there are more out there.” “And we also don’t know for sure that there aren’t.” He argued, “Marcus and Zephyr are not telling the truth, when have they ever? I’ll forward a message to City Hall for request to execute the two by this month.” “But, Sir!” --- Marcus was sitting in his cell, with Zephyr being his cellmate. It was cold night, and Marcus was sitting up on the bottom bunk, leaning over, fiddling with his fingers. The meeting was long over now that they were in their cells, but Marcus still had something to say about it, “Zephyr.” “Yerps?” Zephyr hung his head over from the top bunk, looking down at the idle AB Leader. “They’re planning on killing us.” Marcus smiled a bit, but Zephyr didn’t. “W-What? Pft, no way. We’re too important.” “Aye, you’re right. According to Reaver, it’s just a fakey so we will fess up our friendship with Bob.” Marcus said. “How you know that?” “I planted a device under my chair in that room. Listened with a small ear-piece here.” He pulled it out, it was as large as a penny. Zephyr was impressed, “Wow, g’job. But I wasn’t gonna fess up even if they were gonna kill us. Like they would.” “Actually, they are going to.” Said Marcus. “What? But Reaver said—“ “I know what Reaver said. But I can’t trust that kid as much as I can throw him.” Marcus stated, “He’s saying its just a fakey, but when we’re standing there, blind-folded, with guns pointed at us, those guns are gonna be loaded. And they’re gonna be pulled. I’ve got a strong inkling.” Zephyr looked a little worried now, he knew that Marcus’s inklings were never wrong. For all his years of knowing Marcus, the man was almost never wrong with things like this, “Then…what do we do?” “We’ll find a buddy around here in the cells. Someone that no one really pays any attention to. Not anti-boon. He’ll be our key.” “Eh? Who do you have in mind?” Zephyr asked. “Well…heh…I’ve got the perfect person in mind.” |
