FEF RPG Mod for Rome: Total War

I know most people here haven't played Rome: Total War, but to get a glimpse at what I'm trying to get at, go to TW Center for screens and information.

Rome: Total War is being modded frequently with different scenarios, like Medieval eras, Native America, Persia, etc. It's game engine is unique, and it can make pretty much anything cooler than it was.

I'm therefor attempting to create a full-conversion modification for Rome: Total War by creating 20 Factions, 3 (minimum) Religions, and creating a Jugdral Campaign map. It will be taking place earlier in the modified storyline, so Aless/Ares is still alive, and Manster has not obtained independence. So far I've decided on which faction will be replacing which (This will use the barbarian invasion expansion pack):

(Mod Faction Name - Game Faction name from either RTW or RTW-BI - Colors (Body/Outline))

-The Kingdom of Grandbell (Zidane) - Western Roman Empire - Yellow and Black
-Nodion Agustria (Aless) - Eastern Roman Empire - Green and White
-Feudal Agustria (Tristan) - Eastern Roman Empire Rebels - Light Purple and White
-The Kingdom of Verdane (Galahad) - Burgundii or Huns - Green and Red
-The Kingdom of Silesia (Zephyr) - Romano-British - Blue and White
-The Miletos District (Willfor) - Western Roman Empire Rebels - Turquoise and Gold
-The Kingdom of Thracia (Syragius) - People of Pontus - Blue and Black
-The House of Lenster (Leaf) - The Seleucid Empire - White and Green
-The House of Manster (Bryars) - Macedon - White and Blue
-The Trelos (Trelos) - Lombardi - Magenta and White
-The Loputousu Sect (Neserius) - Berbers - Red and Black
-The Kingdom of Isaac (Reaver) - Light Green and White
-Orgahil (Ganas) - Saxons - Orange and White
-Thracian Rebels (Davai) - Armenia - Orange and Yellow

And that's all I have. I have room for Generic Rebels and 6 more factions. Any suggestions?

If I get the chance, I'll post up my map_regions file to show you the provinces in the game.

Comments, Suggestions, STFU's?

It's like, Age of Empires on drugs, right?

I think Romano-British is not exactly the best culture for Silesia. =.

Yeah.

Now I am fully convinced you're the cruelist man on earth for always saying no to meeting up. :(

This seems like the coolest thing ever, though. I wish I got this game.

Age of Empires is shit compared to RTW. Rome: Total War is w/o question the top RTS game out.

Well, you won't be using the Romano British culture, you'll just be taking some of their unit models (ie Graal Knights modded to create Male Pegasi, British Legionnaires as Silesian Royals, etc.). Silesia gets it's own culture. There's alot of editing I can do.

And I'm assuming you'll want to host this via the website? ;) Which is possible, yes.

Well, I was planning on getting the regular version (non expansion pack) for Christmas. So looks like if I enjoy this game, I'll be looking forward to your conversion :).

Hooray, map_regions is done (This is the backbone of the campaign map and the Single Player mode)

Each RGB color is a province. Each black pixel is the province's city, the white pixel it's port (Use to naval trade and to built warships).

Next up: map_heights B)

EDIT: Also, new factions added are:

House of Chalphy
House of Velthomer
House of Freege

To help fill in Grandbell. Silesia may be divided... it depends.

EDIT 2: Okay, bumpage. I need immediate feedback on something:

Active Volcanos. Add them or not?

Umm, I don't know about volcanoes, but I can give you random commentary.

First off, why is Federal Agustria seperate from Northern Agustria? Tristan (or delmud, if Lackesis has kids) goes to serve under Aless if both of them survive the war, and only goes to help run the country if Aless is dead. Also, neither of them are actually kings of Agustria, I've even heard Hezul refused the throne of Agustria upon its founding.

Also, if you're going to have Chalphy, Freege, and Velthomer, then you should have Edda, Jungby, and Dozel too. And rename Grandbell as Barhara/Valhalla/whatever.

Well, I am following our RPG's storyline:

Quote:

Year 782:
-Civil War in Agustria against Ares and the Feudal Lords. Ares succeeds, but is killed in the Battle of Silvail.

Meaning two forces from within are at each other's throats. Unless you can give me a name for a cahracter to control the Feudal Agustria, Tristan will remain the leader for a storyline I have planned.

As for the houses, well, the problem is with Rome: Total War is that expansion is required, and if all allied factions are in the same area, that can mean serious economic problems in the game. Those houses will appear, but as 'rebel' factions.

Is system similar to Shogun: Total War (which I have played)? I believe they're in the same series, I'd assume the answer is yes...

About the timeline thing, I forgot the events we tacked in for the setting of the RPG. It doesn't make sense that Tristan would revolt against Ares, but then again there isn't really anyone else who'd work. The only other people who can travel to Agustria besides Aless are Delmud/Tristan and Ares' wife, and maybe Nanna if she doesn't have a lover...not too sure on that.
