Is system similar to Shogun: Total War (which I have played)? I believe they're in the same series, I'd assume the answer is yes...

About the timeline thing, I forgot the events we tacked in for the setting of the RPG. It doesn't make sense that Tristan would revolt against Ares, but then again there isn't really anyone else who'd work. The only other people who can travel to Agustria besides Aless are Delmud/Tristan and Ares' wife, and maybe Nanna if she doesn't have a lover...not too sure on that.

Yes, Shogun and Rome are made by Creative Assembly.

I can probably just make up some dumb schmuck, and make Aless the Nodion Faction leader, with Tristan & Delmud as generals.

Shagall II? Same whiny stupid personality, whole new generation of inept treachery?

I've decided it will be Shagall's secound cousin's (twice removed) baby's daddy's freind's friend. Actually, just some guy with an indirect relation to Shagall. I'll post up some of my General sprites/mugs later.

Update, kindasorta.

Alright, the Barbarian Invasion version of the mod is being gayer than Mr. Slave from South Park, so instead the mod will be serving the Rome: Total War standalone game on the 1.5 Patch (So get the game and download patches 1.2, 1.3, and the 1.5 patch (no 1.4)). You WILL need barbarian invasion to play this mod though.

Any difference in gameplay? No. Just no religions that affect provinces. Instead, factions now have fixed religions based on culture. (basically, Velthomer can't have a population of 20% Lopts, and 80% Nargas, but instead, just Narga)

Also, to those who have the game, the 1.0 version of the mod will serve as an Extra Campaign, so it will be seperate from the Imperial Campaign. In 1.0, none of the Jugdral factions will be included, but instead, just renamed RTW factions to act as placeholders. This is to serve as a beta to see if the Campaign Map is working.

Current Progress: That fucking map_ground_features. Couldn't be any harder.

EDIT: Grandbell's description:

Quote:

The Kingdom of Grandbell

Grandbell is a place where tradition and history count for much. The Kingdom itself has gone through many climatic changes, such as the Era of Prosperity, and the horrific years of the Lopto Empire. However, it is these events that have shaped Grandbell into what it is today: the active political and peaceful nation that is the New Kingdom of Grandbell.

The Fates have not always been kind to the Royal Families of the Kingdom of Grandbell. From the first family to revolt against the Lopto Empire, the Maira, to the legacy of house Chalphy, where the Knight Sigurd was wrongly slain. The families are but one whose star has not always been in the ascendant. The familie’s fortunes have declined and then risen over the centuries, so much so that they may almost be considered vaguely parvenu: upstarts newly arrived to wealth, power and authority. With the loss of position and status in the past, the other nations of Jugdral look down (if only ever so slightly) on these ‘dead-again born-again’ men of Jugdral. It's new King, Celice, has had to adjust to the realities of politics and power inhis Kingdom and thourgh foreign affairs, and has cultivated his popularity with the common people, moreso during the Holy War.

This populist attitude to the common people puts the Kingdom of Grandbell at odds with the other nations still struggling to recover from the Empires shatter. It is now Celice's time to prove his worth as a ruler of a nation in this time of unrest...

Well, depends. It certainly doesn't suck as much as Age of Empires III did (I'm surprised the company who makes the game hasn't been sued for lying about it's 'OMFG grayt grafiks'). RTW isn't like anything, to be honest. It's moslty like, well, a Total War game. =D

And another update WOOTOOT:

Finally got ground_features and map_heights complete, which determine the 3d aspects of the map. Now I'm working on region naming, and changing the names of the game's factions.

Which means one thing: This will be a full conversion for the game, so if anyone here has RTW, I advise to make a copy of the C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome: Total War\data should you want to remove the mod or should something go bad.

Tomorrow expect a screenshot. ;)
