Really? You like democrates, right? 108 of them don't want victory. Only 59 of them to. This topic was to point out that Democrates are incapable of being trusted with our War on Terror. |

The government doesnt care what we think. They only care that they do things at home that we like so they stay in office. Really, getting Iraq free is good and all, but I think we have overstayed our visit now. When Suddams trial is over, we should haul our |

Oh really? Well we don't start threads to attack a specefic group, kay? This thread seems to have turned out like every other Iraq thread (i.e. It's going to become a HUGE shouting match one day), so it's okay, but do not do it again.
Don't tell anyone that they are making a dumbass generalization in a debate. Just point out that they are wrong in a respectful manner; that goes for everyone, not just Richie. |

If Democrates don't like what their politicians do, they should vote them out of office. But as of now, I havn't seen a big out-cry about this from every-day democrates. The press has hardly touched it.
I don't mean to argue, but it was a presentation of fact (news story and voting record), and its worthy of debate. |

THIS JUST IN! When people do what we don't want them too, we vote them out of office. That's more or less the point of democracy. Somewhere along the lines, every topic turns into either: a) Does God exist. Is Bush Cool.c) Iraqi War, yah or nah. So really, every topic should be allowed. I am personally of the belief that, yeah this war is justified and everything, but I think it's time we bring them home. There's nothing else we can really do. Training really only goes so far. As for the Democrat thing, as stupid as it is they did it, I think the Republicans had it planned. They just played into their hands. |

Yes, but many things can be changed. Where I live, 3000 votes were lost, and apparently 2964 were for Kerry, and they happen to turn up after election <_< Anyway, it seems a lot of us want success in Iraq. Remember though that Bush declared victory almost 2 years ago. But as Wind Sword and I have seemed to agree on, that we have stayed to long and need to get out. |

Generalizations are not acceptable in debates. Only a dumbass would make one, as it is what starts prejudice and bigotry. Hence I was telling him not to make a dumbass out of himself by generalizing. |

Name one good thing that will come with us leaving now. Sure, our troops won't be killed in Iraq anymore, but they will die else where. Will us leaving Iraq cause us to be safer? Will terrorist stop recruiting? Will nations like Lybia stop their nuclear programs (which they did after we invaded Iraq)? Will Iraq be better off? Is us leaving Iraq worth it if you answered 'no' to any of the previous?
Sorry, richie, but in my first post, I linked to the voting record of the voting record of the House of Representatives. More than half of them want US defeat. Thats not generalization. Thats fact. Lets see if Democrates care (as in, vote them out) next November. |

Prejudices form for a reason. Frankly, I hate political correctness. Unbased prejudcies, i.e. all blacks are white-people raping gangstas and Jews are poor swine, are simply inacceptable. To say the majority of Jews have curly hair is prejudice, but so? It's true. If he presents facts to support his generalizations, they seize to become so. In this case, Sentenal made a generalization, and gave facts to base it. If I had reliable statistics saying almost all Poles have hemophillia, say 75%, that would be a rather ok generalization. Sentenal has data saying more than half voted for something stupid. What he did WRONG, was to take those facts and make an ugly STEREOTYPE, misinterpretating data. If you had said THE MAJORITY of Democrats DON'T WANT VICTORY, there would be no problem. Instead, you took the inititive to say that all Democrats ought to be voted out of office. I honestly think that now that we've given them a taste of democracy, even if it's only for five years, we don't need to do the rest. The people will refuse to sit under an autocratic rule. And I think two years is training enough. At the least, bring some of them home, reduce the number of troops. Bush's problem is he sees this as breaking in to the Democrats. He needs to think of something other than the black and white Democrat-Republican line. That goes for the Democrats too. Half of the insurgency ouldn't care less if we were Saudis occupying. They fight for the old regime. If we leave, they won't suddenly focus their attacks on the US, they keep attacking the Iraqi people, before they realize they hate them. |

Fine. The majority of Democrats want defeat. Happy Windsword?
Without US protecting Iraq till it can defend itself, wants going to stop other Middle Eastern Countries like Iran or Syria from coming in and stopping this "western" government from being formed? This will be the first true democratic republic in the Mideast, and it is a threat to countrys like Syria and Iran. They are already allowing their people to go into Iraq to blow themselves up. |

Uh oh, 82 of the 108 who voted "No" are Males. Guess that means that the majority of the Male Democrats in the United States of America want defeat for the United States, and thus are treasonous traitors. EDIT: Proof - http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congres...se/1/votes/648/ And the majority of the Democrats who voted no have the astrological sign of Virgo. VIRGOAN TRAITORS! And 18 of the people who said no live in California. CALIFORNIAN SCUM! 35 of the people who voted no live in the Northeast! DOWN WITH THE INTELLIGENCE! 55 of the people are from the Baby Boomer generation. HEATHENS! |
