Yes, it was bound to come up. What are your guys' feelings about the legalization of marijuana?

Personally, I'm all for it. Cannabis itself has no addictive substance in it (unlike tobacco), so it's really not any more addictive than beer. That's really the main argument here, marijuana does not harm any more brain cells nor make the body any more incapacitated than alcohol does. So why is beer legal when marijuana isn't?

Compiler?

Because we can't trust people not to abuse it and do stupid things.

I'd be conserned about exactly what restrictions would be put on it. I don't think kids should smoke weed, nor do I think people driving should.

I don't like the idea in general, but meh. I don't even see a benifical purpose of legalizing it, other than people already doing it won't be breaking the law anymore. Excluding medical marijuana, because that does have a purpose.

I could replace the word "weed" with "alcohol" in every instance of the above post and have just as good of an argument.

:P

Nice dodge.

I wouldn't mind beer being banned. But here is the difference. Alchohol is must more wide spread in our society than weed. Outlawing it would do the exact same thing as it did last time. (btw, here is what happend last time).

But legalizing weed would eliminate a lot of incrimination in today's society.

And if we legalized murder, that would eliminate alot of incrimination in today's society. Now, I'm not saying that smoking weed is anywhere near on the level as murder. There is just no benifit to come out legalizing either, and both can be harmful to people.

Which really isn't beneficial for society. XD

I think both Marijuanna and Alcohol should be illegal. They are very detrimental to society.

I agree with Sentenal; there is no benefit to legalizing it. In fact, there is a benefit to keeping it illegal; we won't have people abusing the substance and harming others.

Marijuana smells bad.

And besides, what's a college party without bear? Outlawing beer is kind of like outlawing videogames. Is it bad for you in large dosages? Heck yes! Are people going to stop doing it. Probably not.

I personally love certain alcoholic beverages, and I drink rather responsibly, so I don't see any issues with alcohol. Other nations don't even have drinking ages and they actually have less problems with alcoholics.

As for marijuana, make it legal for all I care. As long as the government can collect tax money off of it, I'm fine with it.

SKILLNADEN ÄR DRINKABILITY

Marijuana is a "Gateway Drug". You drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes, and that's just about it, maybe both.

You do weed, you are almost garaunteed to move on to coke, meth, E, heroin, or speed. That's not speculation, it's a generall accepted fact.

There are many misconceptions about Marijuana:
1. IT IS ADDICTIVE. People on it become physically and mentally dependent.
2. It is extremely dangerous. Smoking one joint is like smoking three cigarettes.
3. It can kill you. I was appaled when someone in my school told me it was harmless. That is idiocy. It causes Lung Cancer and Throat Cancer, just like cigarettes and alcohol.

On that note, I do think alcohol should be banned. The problem with Prohibition was that no one had the guts to stop the illegal trade.

You also don't know what the person who made it put into it. For all you know, there could be stuff that is 10X as worse into it.

However, it is currently very easy to get as kids who are still in middle school are using it. You may as well make it legal to at least get money off of it.

But it is, in fact, detrimental to society, so why would anyone want to make it legal?

Exactly.

Dope is indeed, well, for dopes.

There's no reason to legalise it. Medical purposes? Fuck that. We've got other pain killers than weed.

There, arguement defeated. The Mary Jane = Unneeded.

And it smells like shit too. How anyone can smoke that stuff while sniffing it is beyond my comprehension.
