Airplane bullshit

This was sparked by the marijuana topic, but it's not a very serious debate.

Smoking is prohibited on airplanes, always. You aren't allowed to. No smoking on airplanes. Smoking on airplanes is illegal. Always. I don't mind, it's good, I don't want to sit next to someone who's smoking on a long distance flight or some such.

So why do they have an on/off light next to the fasten-your-seatbelts lights? It's not like they're ever going to turn the no smoking light off? What the hell is the point in this? They could just have a permanent no smoking label instead of a little light that wastes tiny amounts of electricity to stay on, right?

Ok, for all I know there are some airlines in some countries that do allow it, but if so they could have lights I guess. Why do american based airlines like continental and delta have this?

Why do they have a "warning: may cause drowsiness" message on sleeping pills? Because they have to.

Hes not asking why there is a "No Smoking" sign of some sort, but asking why the said sign is a on/off light, rather than just regular metal plate sign. Obviously, its always a no smoking area.

And to answer your question, is that people in general are stupid.

I see. As a matter of fact, I don't think I've ever been on an airplane that had a lighted no-smoking sign. =.

You're scary and weird. You must ride on planes made of demonic energy, or maybe ones that run on solar power and have candy dispensers.

Also, they have ashtrays on some planes in between seats in the little armrests. I suppose that's so that if someone does start smoking, there's somewhere to put their minced up corpses when the flight attendant comes over to kill them. And the cigarette.

The smell kills more. Anyway, this is funny that you have brought this topic up.

Well, maybe it wasn't always illegal to smoke on planes, and those planes were made when it wasn't illegal?

Like Sentinel said: People in General are not as smart as us. I may be stoopid here to you all, but I'm generally low on the facts because my home computer is fuked. Other than that, I'd probably be ahead on the times, but I gotta go to the library. I, however, wouldn't need to be informed of no smoking, unlike the general public.

You could sue them for not putting ALL the effects on the label.

And lights attract smoking bugs like moths.
