Compiler?

Okay, I'm looking for an average video card for my computer. Sadly, my, uh, "budget" doesn't allow for anything above $130. And, I would not like to pay the disgusting amount of money that the store will charge you if you let them install it, so I'd also like some book suggestions to help me find my way around the inside of a computer.

Here's my computer's specs. Er, some of them.

2.80 Intel Celeron Processor

80 GB Hard Drive. (Don't know how much of that is full.)

256 MB of RAM! (Way too low.)

So... I'd greatly appreciate help. Thanks all.

If you could go over say 50 dollars, there is a great GeForce card. The 6600, does shadowing, 256 RAM, and uses a seperate Power Supply. It uses a PCI slot, though, so if you don't have one you can't use it.

I'm going to read this sticker on the side of my computer..>_>

3200 AMD Althlon XP Processor [2.20GHz]

512 MB of RAM

160 Gig hard drive

My video card right now is an NVIDIA GeForce MX with 64MB allocated to video memory.

My parents went to get me F.E.A.R. for Christmas, but apparantly my video card can't handle it.

So how much is it going to cost me to get a top of the line video card to play the game, and what is it going to cost to have someone install it?

To play most recent computer games, you're going to want one with shadowing.
