Harken89, improve your typing and grammar in the Debate Forum, please. This isn't Chit-Chat. On topic, I agree with Soja, for the most part. I also support Bush completely, and have done so since he defeated Gore back in 2000. I completely trust him because, well, we haven't been so much as scratched by terrorists since 9/11. He must be doing something right to keep us safe.
I can't name a single president that was stupid, I know a shitload of American history. Some of our presidents weren't the best at the job, but morons can't even become president in the first place because such things as college and primaries keep idiots from running in presidential elections.

i ment for my 5. to be directed to bush. i mean what has he done to make this america better? hes promised alot, rounding 5 years and we still havent finished in iraq, this was a small task, how long did WWII last? and that was a major war, and its the one time we didnt give a rats ass about who we killed, ( the little boy bomb) we had balls back then, used force, now bush wants to be careful, not hurt civilians, while they're running at U.S. soldiers with bombs! stop caring about civilians Bush, get our soldiers out of there, we got saddam, you were such a dumbass, dicked around, so you couldnt find osama in time. if Bush would have done it right, this war would have taken a good month max, its been almost 5 full years sense 9-11 and nothin has been accomplished except for saddams capture. stop trying to rebuild there houses, make there economy better. let them do it, there smart people. |

Look, Harken, talk with grammar. there is no way i can take any1 serious who talk liek this in teh debate forum. Now, as for the stupid comments you made. Firstly, no shit your #5 was aimed at Bush. But wait, he graduated from Harvard? How the hell could an idiot get out of an Ivy League school like that? The actual war of WW2 lasted 6 (1939-1945). More troops died per single battle in WW2 than what we have lost in our entire war. As for what Bush has done, hes cut taxes, revived the economy from the Internet Bubble Burst+9/11 shock, and hes actually protected our country agianst terrorist. We should just go, take out Saddam, and leave? Yeah, thats a good idea. Well guys, we just destroyed your countries government, your on your own now! Hope you don't create an even more oppressive government, now that we cleared the way for any Islamic extreamist group to take over. Us leaving now would be the dumbest thing possible. Say what you want about our reasons for the war, but us leaving would completely undermine the entire thing, and make the fucking situation worse. And try not to make yourself look ignorant. Your points (even when translated to english) are jokes. If I felt like it, I could tear your arguement apart, point by point. Do your research, use reason, and form your own opinion. |

I don't feel like that's a fair comment, sir! That is, after all, my girlfriend you're talking about! But berating W. and dragging out his mistakes should be left to another thread. Like every President, he has his pros and he has his cons. But this topic is just about patriotism, and I've stated my peace on that matter. A President does not need to go to college in order to become President. Anyone who is 35, naturally U.S. born or born on a U.S. territory (including military bases), and has lived in the U.S. for at least 14 years can become President. (I may have gotten something wrong since it's been a while since U.S. Government.) It states nothing about education, as colleges were hard to come by back in 1776. Unfortunately, today's financially-centered election process pretty much only allows the super rich and the super privileged to become President of the United States of America. Today, unless you have at least a six-figure income, privileged family name, and full support of the fanatics on either end of the Political Rainbow™, you cannot become President. Example: I would make a better President than Ted Kennedy. But his chances of becoming President are about 4,000,000 (four million) times better than mine because of his wealth, name, and the loyalty he could garner from the lunatic fringe Democrats (Dean, Clinton (Mrs.), Kerry). |

One of the pros of a two-party political system is that there's always gonna be people criticizing the government unless you've fallen on severely crappy times, thus I don't see us ever becoming like the Hitler-run Germany where we'll believe people who are tall and have blonde hair are superior to everyone when it's coming from a short guy with dark hair and a funny mustache who isn't even German. I still find it hard to comprehend that it actually happened. EDIT: Since someone asked for evidence, here you have it anyway. |

That's kinda different. Cheney, who we all hate anyways, isn't saying the terrorists will attack BECAUSE Kerry would be elected, but rather that Kerry might not do all that Bush is doing to prevent attacks that may come, because of Kerry's desire to end the war on terror. At least I think he wanted to end the war on terror, it's hard to tell with that guy. It's a fair accusation, he's really saying that another attack is inevitable. We're doing all we can, he wouldn't. There's a difference. |

Puppetmaster Cheney, hmm? Well, in his defense (as windsword said), Cheney was just saying the chances of the terrorist getting a successful attack would go up if Kerry were president, because Kerry probably wouldn't continue the war on Terrorism the same as Bush. I personally believe that, modern Democrates are weak on foriegn policy. |

I provided evidence, you did what I knew you were gonna do with everything I bring up that may possibly sully the Republican name, so I'm eager to move on with the topic at hand. Then again, the topic seems to be dead anyway. I think we were talking about Lucas's mistakened notion that we can't elect idiots. While every person in that seat is probably smarter than us, I think our history has proven time and time again that American leaders can be awfully unwise. We have as many failures as we have greats, really. |

Its possible to elect idiots, but with our political system now, its nearly impossible. An idiot might be able to be passed off as normal for most of the campaign, but when Debate Time arrives, they would be destroyed. |
