I put it here since people may have crazy things to say, but....

anyhow, this girl I know seems to have gotten pregnant as a junior in high school. And the potential and most likly father just cheated on her and well, obvious thrashing he got. But Im trying to to comfort her and all, but she is being closed mouthed. Does anyone have any advice here?? Im sort of stuck, even though I know the situation well since my family has had some things too.

Talk to someone, preferably someone older than the both of you. It'd make most sense to speak with a counselour or something, but that can be risky at times too.

Brendas got a baby

I remember the first time I got a girl pregnant. Those were some wild times. Sucks for the dad, but he'll probably just leave her, thats pretty normal.

Wow @ kids these days.

I second that emotion

Well, I would be a total hard ass If I were in your situation. I would probably even make her cry. So Mayber, just maybe, you should ask someone with some life experience.. like a counselor, I mean the counselor doesnt sit in his/her office to collect dust, ya know.

Well, the two solutions are obvious. If it's not too late in the development cycle, she can abort the unborn child and live with the guilt, if the latter applies. If not, she can go through with the pregnancy and give the child up to adoption.

But junior high? Wtf. Give her your support, but don't let her think that what she did was "okay." Because of ONE mistake, her entire future is now in jeopardy. But if she acts methodically and with proper guidance, it isn't too late.

I've had a lot of experience comforting people in many different ways, but I'm afraid this is out of my league right about now. XD My only suggestion to you is to try and focus on the more optimistic points of having a baby. Not just the negative points. Problem is, when you're a Junior in Highschool there are a lot more negatives them normal. :/

Good luck, though.

Around here we have a little day care for mamas in school to drop off their babies and pick them up after school's done. It's not all that bad. Just drop her the good things about having a baby.

Same.

Even though underaged teen pregnancies are unbelievably common over here, that's one hell of a comment to make.
