I'm pretty decent with HTML and CSS. Javascript I can generally get what's going on, but I can't do it myself. |

I know the basics of HTML, Javascript, and easy shit like that. I can also EDIT a little php here and there. I really would like to start making some custom shit, or maybe Java or C. All that will come in time, and when I have time. >_> |

I hate Java but at the same time I can't get away from it. It's a vicious cycle. |

Learning a language is thankfully very easy today, considering the open source nature of almost all knowledge associated with programming. Also, if you've read through, or taken any CS course that uses this book:![]() you'll find after word that learning *most* languages a very trivial aspect of the whole programming thing in general. So, my purpose in posting this is really to promote SICP, for the good of the people who don't know what it is.

Seeing that it was promoted by none other that JESUS himself, I expect nothing short of a LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE after reading it.

I take a programming class in school, so I know BASIC, C++, and Java as far as we've taken it. I can't do anything other than text-based things in Java though. |

I want to learn how to use HTML, I can edit it and such but that's about it. Like Psio, I can't create it on my own from scratch. |

Thanks to MIT press, now you don't even have to drop 60 dollars if you want to read what is clearly amongst the best CS books ever written: http://mitpress.mit.edu/sicp/full-text/book/book.html And, if you ever get confused, here's access to MIT's OCW website to find all the lesson plans, questions, lecture notes on 6.001, MIT's introductory CS course (which uses SICP): http://ocw.mit.edu/OcwWeb/Electrical-Engin...eHome/index.htm And here's all the discussion notes I personally used when taking this course (Weeks 2--15): http://inst.eecs.berkeley.edu/~cs61a-tg/ See, if you're truly motivated and want to learn how to program, there's no excuse now! .<!--emo&D:--> <!--endemo-->
