I went back into this topic to make sure no one had posted about this particular series, and as it turns out, nobody had. The series is high fantasy like Wheel of Time, but it is a far more realistic (and consequently darker) portrait of the genre. I'd recommend a read if you've never read it, as I think it's one of the best written series I have ever read.

While I don't have many favorite characters, that's because I like a great many of the characters, and it's hard to choose since most of them are pitted against each other.

So, have you read it? Have you thought about reading it? Have you even heard of it before right now?
