IIRC, Marcus got power ranked at #3 unit in the game for usefulness.

Above any other Paladin.

- Level advantage/Joining time.
- More stable STR; will have superior STR just until the endgame due to superier growth and level advantage.
- Supported by the time Heath joins.
- Can take advantage of terrain.
- Can use axes; Swords first tier + lances against Heath's lances only; Axes > Swords anyway.
- No weakness to arrows/ballistae.
- Better postpromotion CON.

About the time you get Heath, you phase Sain out, and replace him. Heath is a monster.

Or you don't and you're probably just as well off.

I loved using Sain as a counter arguement against Sentenal's Heath in the finals. B)

Heath is incredible superior to Sain, there is no way you can look at the two units side by side, and choose Sain. Heath does everything Sain does, better. Just takes a bit more work.

Not if you've taken the time to support him and build him up, I wouldn't think so. There'd be little difference in choosing Heath; it'd be even more irritating to build up Heath for the purpose of replacing Sain in ranked play, as well.

The gaps between them aren't even that large... While Heath has a minor stat advantage in SPD, STR, RES, Sain will have higher STR long before Heath manages to catch up. Heath has much better SKL, but Sain is open to the entire weapon triangle, and Heath is not. If both are using heavy weapon beyond weight, the SPD difference is negated because Sain will match Heath's SPD.

So Heath has some more HP and DEF than Sain. Sain's a tad bit more evasive(Not by much), but if you also throw in the fact he can use Axes for WTA against enemies, that throws in an extra 10% to his side. So... It's not exactly making up for the differences in HP/DEF, but at the same time, you have somebody you've had since pretty much the beginning still on your team, fighting competently. He has a lot more chapters to build up, gain support, etc. I don't see the point in phasing him out if used, to be honest >_>;

Huh...save for the absurdly low placement of Marcus, the poll actually looks accurate now.

Agreed.

Sain and Kent are barely better than Lowen, who's barely better than Isadora, who completely rapes Marcus. That's how it actually is, methinks.
