Ok, well you may or may not heard of the "towel trick" a recent phenonemon that fixes Xbox 360s. My Xbox 360 currently does not work, and I was about to send it back to Microsoft. I really didn't feel like waiting two more weeks, so I did one final google search about fixing xbox 360s. While searching, I found a ton of sites documenting the "towel trick" a method of fixing the xbox that was discovered about a month ago. It works as it sounds. These are the steps for the towel trick: Take a broken Xbox 360, wrap it in a towel, turn it on for 15 minutes, then turn it off and let it sit there for 30 minutes. When I first saw that I just laughed. I thought how could wrapping a console in a towel suddenly rise it from the dead? It hasn't been workign for months now, how could a towel change all this? However, I was getting desperate, so today I attempted the towel trick. And sure enough...IT WORKED! I wrapped my Xbox in a towel, and suddenly it was working again! However, it seems that everytime it's been on for around half an hour it freezes. Shame that it didn't completely fix everything, and I'm still going to send it back to Microsoft, but it was an interesting experience.

Lol, weird things like that can help out a system. If your Gamecube doesn't work, turn it upside down. It's helped me make SSBM work a few times. Good call on sending it to Microsoft though. |

Interesting. Towels must have some kind of healing properties that we were previously unaware of! Either that or the 360 is truly alien technology.

I've done worse. When I was little, I could get any Sega Genesis game to work by banging it against my head. Worked every time.

lmfao, well there's the traditional blowing on your cartridge until it works trick, even though it actually damages the game. |

If the open button on the GameCube gets jammed, you can put your finger in the little indentation and wiggle it until the it comes back to its normal position. Also, I have to turn my old PSX upside down to play games on it. |

Its true, towels have cured me off AIDS and ADD ![]() ... Well I've never had any problems with my Gamecube, and I'm lame so I don't own and XBOX 360, but my PS2 doesn't work (the newer slim one) First it started making little marks on the disks, then it would freeze, then it started to not read disks. My brother being the complete idiot that he is...well...he though it'd be a good idea to just smack it around. Yeah it started to work again but now it doesn't work at all. (he needs anger management) |

I don't know why I remember this, but we used to get the level select code in Sonic 3D Blast to work by tapping the cartridge at a certain part during the intro. It made no sense (clearly your cartridge was worn) but it worked almost every time.

I remember you got pissed and kicked the console and that's how it was discovered. There actually was a way to get to that screen without kicking everything, but this way was more fun. |

They are with the handhelds, but I can't agree about the consoles. My Gamecube gave me alot of shit with disk read errors. The disk drive eventually died on me more than once. The Cube is a lot more fragile than like, an Xbox. (sturdy as a brick) |

The Xbox is a brick. I don't know why my Wii feels more durable then my Xbox 360, but that's probably because of my bad experiences with broken 360s. |

I feel the same way. The Wii is compact. The 360 is heavy. I'm sure the Wii would take less damage if you would ever drop it than the 360. |

The towel trick is used to trap all the heat inside the case, it actually works by melting something temporarily and reestablishing a connection, but it can have adverse affects as well. |
