I usually go with Both or just Guy. :/ I don't really play it seriously or for rankings anymore since, like you said, the enemies are about as durable as Isadora with a Devil's axe and zero luck. Guy does just as good in my book that and I have HORRIBLE luck with Raven's Skill and/or Def |

Both get HHM Bonuses, so applying them wouldn't make any difference. |

Reikken: I'm halfway through reading it, but it's so bad; I can't finish. --- Inui: You say Ilia holds more weight, but I don't, since Shin >>> Pegs and Sacae is more fun due to enemies that aren't fail and not having to move through forests all day. --- SACAE. It's more fun than Ilia. | |

Two things: One, you're blaming this in Raven's RES, which hardly applies here. Luna doesn't give a flying fuck about RES, it's a useless argument. Two, don't blame Raven for getting killed by a critical, blame the RNG for dishing the critical and you for moving in a weakened Raven. |

Raven sucks. Plain and simple. I even find Guy more useful. This may not be set in stone fact, but Raven never seems to be a great character to me...

Raven is an awesome unit, Bosco. And what's with the "even Guy"...? Guy is really good as well. |

Guy has which supports? Rath comes too late, let's face it. Matthew is a thief and isn't going to be near to give Guy any bonuses, we're not recruiting Karel and the Louise support is quite slow. Who is left? Priscilla. If the pkayer does not take Serra over her, then she still has a lot of other support options. Let's not forget that she's running around the field, not too much supporting to do. Also, by 20/5, I sincerely doubt if Guy's level lead will be anything worthwile, if existant. |

Guy's level lead should liquidate within 1-2 chapters at most. There is absolutely no excuse for keeping Raven behind the rest of the party on levels. |

Hey guyz i still tink raven is better i wuz just sayin taht guy is rly good 2 Because he is, really, a good unit, especially on HM. Granted, his supports aren't amazing, but his stats are pretty awesome, and he's very useful. I don't like Guy enough to make an argument out of this, but my honest opinion is that he is a good unit. @Bosco: "Raven sux" was never a fact in the first place. |

I have a hard time seeing Guy as a good unit. Crap Str and mono Swords are serious handicaps, his Supports don't impress me either, and he really has nothing to compensate for that. |

The idea of a swordmaster is to have a load of critical to greatly improve their STR and damage output. Comparing 20/20 Guy to 20/20 Oswin, for example, I'll demonstrate. Assume a soldier named "Generic Soldier 32" has a DEF of 12. Guy gets about 19 STR, therefore has 24 MT with an Iron Sword. Oswin has about 27 STR, therefore 34 MT with an Iron Lance. Let's also assume that "Generic Soldier 32" has a SPD of 0 because he's a fatty and 0 LUK because he's an evil man. Both will double and their critical rates won't be affected. Oswin will deal 44 total damage, Guy will deal 24 total damage. Not too good, huh? Assuming Guy has a hard mode bonus to add to his average 27.7 STR (29 exact if you don't slow the growth), Guy should max out SKL. 29/2 = 14 (14.5), plus his 15% critical bonus gives him a 29 chance of critical hitting. Therefore, if Guy criticals once, he's dealing 48 total damage to pull ahead of Oswin. This is, of course, without any supports. The idea of Guy is to triple one of his attacks to deal great damage to the enemy. Granted, this relies on critical, but with swords like the Wo Dao (if you're silly enough to NOT get Harken) and the Killing Edge, you increase this chance. I agree with you that Guy isn't a great unit, but his STR isn't much of an issue to me. |

Guy is better than Raven though. I'm not even going to bother proving it.
