Hard mode.

That's where it's at, baby. ;)

Not N00b Mode/Marcus's Solo Mode/Karla Rapes the Final Chapter Mode.

Oh no, dear Marcus. Karla cannot rape the final chapter or VoD on her own in NM. ^_^ She sucks that badly.

Anyway, I like Legault A LOT better. I also like his stat leads and his 9 CON. Killing Edge FTW :hmm:

Killing Edge has 7 Wt.
Reikken: I'm halfway through reading it, but it's so bad; I can't finish.

---

Inui: You say Ilia holds more weight, but I don't, since Shin >>> Pegs and Sacae is more fun due to enemies that aren't fail and not having to move through forests all day.

---

SACAE. It's more fun than Ilia.

Matthew is also better support wise. Matthew has Hector, Oswin, Legault, Guy, Serra, and Jaffar. Jaffar, Hector, Oswin, and Legault are out for obvious reasons, namely that Oswin and Hector are too good, Jaffar joins way late, and you shouldn't go with two theives (unless it's the desert level). This leaves him with Serra and Guy. Serra might be good because they both can go behind lines, but if you don't like healers and much prefer Matthew recieving a 3 STR, 15 HIT, and 15 CRT bonus you like Guy more. Both are swift swordsmen with "meh" defense, but since Matthew is going to be behind lines you just run your army a little bit differently.

As for Legault, you have Heath, Matthew, Nino, Jaffar, and Isadora. Jaffar and Matthew should be off-limites for the same reason above, Nino should be in the same boat as Jaffar, and Isadora's support goes way to slow paired with her subpar stats. That leaves Heath. Of course, Heath and Legault are bad options by the nature of their classes, so Legault doesn't have many good supports.

Legault's stats and ability to get more items (assuming you switch off at Dragon's Gate) make him better, but Matthew is still better than Low Tier and is still a better unit than he's made out to be.

Thieves don't need supports, they just need to not die, which Legault is better at. Save those supports for fighting units.

Hell, I only use thieves on the chapters they're needed in, so the other person of the support wouldn't get much out of the investment.

Matthew comes in Lyn's story and, besides opening doors, Matthew grabs an Armorslayer, a Hammer, and an Angelic Robe for your team. Other items he grabs for the party Pre-Legault?

Red Gem
Guy/Killing Edge
Silver Axe
Mend
Lockpick (Steal from Thief on Chapter 16)
Unlock Staff
Hero's Crest
Knight's Crest
Silver Sword
Pure Water (Steal)
Elysian Whip (Steal from Pegasai Knight)
Speedwings (Steal from Zoldam)
Guiding Ring (Steal from Shaman)
Mine (Steal from Cavalier)
Silver Card (Steal from Aion)
Talisman
Eclipse
Dragonshield

That's it, but the Silver Card goes a LONG way, halving funds requires for weapons and almost assuring a perfect funds rating. Also, Matthew can easily snag a few treasures on "Dragon's Gate" before you recruit Legault and open doors before you get Legault so your tactics rating goes up. Matthew is better than you make him out to be.

You can obtain a lot of those items by letting a thief get the chest and then killing the thief. And there's downloading the items from MK:DD.

Legault gets you better stuff later on, anyways. Boots and Delphi Shield, for instance.

I could say the same for Legault. I could also point out that halving the price of every item in shop >>> Boots and Delphi Shield. It takes a whole lot to top the Silver Card, which requires Matthew and, paired with the other items he gets, should place him at the lower section of mid-tier.

Killing Edge has 7 Wt.

Wait...what  Maybe I was looking at a different sword XD

Anyway .... Stat leads and 9 CON > Mathew's Joining time.

Reason why I say this is that Mathew can be used when you want to or if you just need him for one chapter. I have never had the need to use Mathew for any chapter that didn't have chests and I usually don't feel like trying to raise him from a low stat unit to a less-than-mediocre fighter. The same goes to Legault but he already has the base stats to join as a fighter as well, rather than being stuck to thieving.

I really don't see anything special in them as units but I KNOW Legault beats Mathew out of the team.

Hurray for door and chest keys :feez:

Not just that, a Body Ring, Emblem weapons, Emblem Seal or whatever it's called (item that gives +5 Hit and Avoid), and a Dragon Axe, too.

The disc does not even exist as far as I'm concerned. Another game is required to get it in the first place, and it stopped being available at all through conventional means quite some time ago, IIRC.

Pretty much, but once you get them...you won't need to drag along Mathew and just use some mounted unit to open the doors and chest :P
