For you musicians who record!

I've been trying out the 'Lightsnake' usb cable lately for my guitar, and to be honest, less than stellar results. But, it's not terrible either. It just doesn't sound... how should I say but, 'clear' enough. You know, like muddy.

Here's me testing out the Lightsnake on my guitar

any other suggested equipment?

Lightsnake is the best I know of without using an actual studio.

.

If you still have the link to UL, I'd post in their "Technical Help" section. There's a few people there who know a lot about the recording/technical aspect of making music, so they might be able to help you. Specifically, PM "Leyenda" if you want.

I'm suspended for spamming, so I can't do it for you. But just say you know me from another forum, and I'm sure people will reply.

Doesn't sound too bad to me, but I don't know what you think it should sound like, so it's difficult to really give a judgement.

One of my best friends will know which brands have skills, so next time I see him I'll try to remember to ask. He's built a recording studio at his house, recorded and mastered CDs for several bands (including his own), and is currently doing a degree in music... so yeah, I'll try to remember to ask him.

Every once in a while, the recording would sound like someone was blowing into a microphone, which is what I think Greth has a problem with.

you could try just using a mic with Audacity and turning up your amp really loud. That actually can sound pretty damn good.
