Flood control is something applied to underdogs just in case, be good for the rest of the month and you're set. :3

I only fear dying really, not death. I don't mind the idea of forfeiting my conscious thought and never needing it again, but I fear how I'm to lose it. I'd rather go peacefully, happily, or quickly, and of the three would work for me.

It's not just "death". It's that you lose your frickin' life in a lot more than just the cosmic sense. You're not taking that into account, otherwise you'd be a lot less willing to let it go.

Quote:

"Every man is scared in his first battle. If he says he's not, he's a liar. Some men are cowards but they fight the same as the brave men or they get the hell slammed out of them watching men fight who are just as scared as they are. The real hero is the man who fights even though he is scared. Some men get over their fright in a minute under fire. For some, it takes an hour. For some, it takes days. But a real man will never let his fear of death overpower his honor, his sense of duty to his country, and his innate manhood. Battle is the most magnificent competition in which a human being can indulge. It brings out all that is best and it removes all that is base."

I always give frying pans to female survivors in Dead Rising. It's really the only thing I'm confident they know how to use.

I'm pretty reassured on where I'm going, so death itself doesn't scare me at all.

In any case, you can call it base if you want to, but I still say life is too good for me to not be afraid of losing it.

I agree with Solide.

I dont care about the afterlife as long as I'm alive. I'll worry bout it when I'm dead.

;) my opinion on this is a little difficult...

Im stuck in a mind frame that looks at everything no matter what it is as an energy form. (matter is just reeeaaaaly slow energy)

life energy is different from "spirit" energy tho technically everything is alive because everything is energy, its just some have less so than others. when we die the spirit energy seperates, from body and from its adjacent parts. (like a crystal breaking) when a new life form is made its the entropy and convergence of enough of these subsequent parts forming/attracting to physical reproductive sites in living creatures. (like a crystal growing) the more the energy collected the "stronger" the life form when it begins to grow on the physical level. the growth of the spirit energy isnt held to growth before the physical it can be gained throughout the organisms life as well.

sooo.... reincarnation?? (hahaha expains why lots of people think they are famous history buffs. they were often strong people, so they would have lots of energy.... but some are still just crazy...)

(i tryed to summerize that i hope it sorta make sence without all the dirty details)

Death is when you stop living. When the body is no longer able to function. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don't know if anything happens after death, because I've never (to my knowledge) died before, but that's what the actual event of death is.

There are ways being researched of postponing death by creating extreme longevity in humans (hundreds of years), by deactivating or modifying the gene that controls aging, but other than that, I don't know of any ways to prevent death.

To quote a book called Slaughter House Five

Quote:

When a person dies he only appears to die. He is still very much alive in the past, so it is very silly for people to cry at his funeral. All moments, past, present and future, always have existed, always will exist.
