The problem with nations like Iran and North Korea, is they might use them even if we don't attack them. Iran has said many times it wants to destroy Israel, for example. So that is a tough situation. |

We are going to war cause America has nothing better to do with all its power. Make money? Are you kidding me? We're wasting money, thats why some people feel threatened by China. Its growing, and we're not. We have a C average president that comes up for a reason for war almost every time he speaks on the subject of war. I conclude by quote Gabriel Iglesias's statement:
He has proved that a kid with ADD can become president. Maybe not a good president, but yes a president. |

Do you even know what your talking about? There isn't a single person who is a leader of a country, other than maybe a tyrant somewhere, that would go to war for no reason. You may think the reasoning for going to war (reasoning republicans and democrats shared) was flawed, but saying the reason was because we didn't have anything better to do is retarded. At the time we went to war, the entire country, and every respectable inteligence agency in the world believe Saddam had WMDs. I'm fairly certain British Inteligence still stands by its claim that Saddam was trying to get Uranium from Africa. And I personally believe Saddam had them, or was working to develop them, and hid them somewhere before the begining of the war. And your ending quotes insulting the president are nothing short of childish. |

I do think there's people within our government who do want to stretch our military muscles for dubious reasons, they're just going to have a great time trying to convince the rest of us.

I'm still not sure I agree with the reasoning for going into Iraq and keeping into Iraq for such a long period of time. While we went in on misinformation, it hasn't changed other war blunders such as inefficient funding, lack of battle strategy, and President Bush's refusal of UN aid to rebuild Iraq shortly after we took Bagdhad. If these errors never occured, I'm certain that the war may have looked and gone better than it turned out to be. In short I feel that the Iraq War, while not necessarily a bad move in and of itself, turned into a disaterous affair that was handled poorly. |

This post seems spot on to me. Reasons for entering Iraq and such are debateable, but I find it hard to believe things have gone well there since we have. |

Pulling out isn't an option now. A lot of damage was caused by the troops being there, and it needs to be fixed. |

well...i remember there was a bill (that bush veto'd) stating a date to have all of our troops out completly. so it would seem like some other people want them out asap. whoever is going to be the next president is going to have a lot of pressure in getting them out. |

You mean, complete withdrawal? A lot longer than it implies, at the very least. You can't just get up and leave. That's simply unrealistic and probably not even possible. ![]() I'd give it a decade before we're completely gone. |

Yes it is. We need to tell the Iraqi government that we're going to begin to pull troops (as Crysta said, it's not going to be immediate) on a certain date, that will encourage growth in Iraq by Iraqis rather than America's influence drawing more fire and attention from terrorists. |
