My point is that games are supposed to be pastimes. Tournament players -- just like professional athletes -- choose to take games to another level, which is good as it shows how much they like the game, and how good players they can be. Even so, saying that a 'no grabs rule' is bad in a casual gaming environment is like ruling high school football games with NFL rules. Sounds ridiculous to me. |

The reason that a "no grabs" rule is stupid is because grabbing is an essential part of the game. It would be as if a "casual" game of football where nobody ever passed, because that was considered a part of their rules. Grabbing exists in Brawl, and it's a key game element. |

That's like the rule Linoud and Soja mentioned. Not passing is fine during a practice/informal scrimmage, as it forces you to rely on your running game more. Your running game will eventually get better from that way of practice or w/e. When playing a real game (or attending a tournament), however, you need to use everything you have at your disposal; be it passes or grabs, respectively. In that sense, I agree with your point. Practices and casual/not serious games =/= serious matches and tournaments. The problem here isn't playing casual games without grabs, but that it has become a bad habit that needs to be worked on, IMO. |

...but then if you choose to take your game to a competitive level you phail because you never grab when you need to There's really no point to keep debating this. Bottom line - Casual or Not you need to fucking grab when you need to |

brawl got me into using the c stick, now when I go back to melee it feels completely different and I can't use it, it's a brawl habit. In brawl I can just flick it, melee I need to press fully. |

Whilst I like brawl in general, it has one major thing that annoys me: inability to copy save data. |

This is pretty true but, I just enjoy it for what it is. Tiara, You can't copy data at all for Brawl to use on a friends wii with an SD card. That means you have to unlock everything on each Wii console you play it on, and no transfer of characters, yknow?

In actuality, I'd much rather become a pro at an FPS or some other fighting game than Smash brothers.

Honestly, unless you are going pro in like Counter Strike or something, being pro in Smash means more money. Or if you really want make lots of money, move to Korea and try to be a Pro Starcraft player
