What's truly ridiculous isn't that Nintendo's making games easier or harder, it's that they're not going to just make everyone happy with multiple difficulties.

Multiple difficulties would require programming in additional puzzles and possibly new enemies or making the enemies smarter/stronger. That's a lot of extra effort to put into a game.

It's effort that alot of other major game franchises seem to be willing to put in, so "it's too hard" isn't much of an excuse for Nintendo.

'sides, the only Nintendo games with Difficulty settings were 2nd party titles, unless I'm mistaken.
