Competitive Pokemon is where it's at, yo.

i laugh at your statement.

Pokemon games never had a good storyline, but looking to beat all the gym leaders and then the elite four is a formula that just... doesnt die.

competitive pokemon is for children at Toys 'R' Us hosted events. :NomNomNom:

@Kovu - If FF3 is any kind of grindfest, then I wouldn't want to play it. Are the story and characters any good though? I'm assuming no, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

The best aspect in FFIII, I'm afraid to say, is the music.
It's pretty much FFI story-wise, except with some actual attempted plot. You can tell they were trying to throw characters and plot into a game that originally didn't have any.

I suppose, if nothing else, the game is moderately difficult unless you grind the fuck out of your characters, which takes awhile in this game.

If you're fond of the FF series, this ranks slightly below average (though there are games that are FAR worse-- this falls above FFX-2, CC, MQ and is slightly below games like FFV and TA in overal game value). Play it if you like the series, otherwise there are certainly better choices.

It certainly doesn't hinder the integrity of the overall series (like aforementioned three others). But really, IV's much better. You didn't want that suggestion though. =p

No it's not. People just hate it because they were expecting a generic FF for the GC, but got something else instead.

That's not really a Rpg to me since in-game sucks >_>

Competitive Pokemon is where it's at, yo.

I don't see the joy in competitive pokemon when it requires hours upon hours to get a competative pokemon, then even more to raise it.

Shuddy Battle is your friend.
Free, PC-hosted competitive pokemon battles >_>
No breeding or training required =D

And even then pokemon in-game is boring.
H4x Tower aside, atleast, that thing gives me headaches.

And there’s always Pokésav if your have a ARDS, but dont ask me how that works, I just know it exists.

Rare Candies are your friend, but without EV training...they suck.

lol what? It's better. It's better sound-quality, too. I loved CC's music.

Also, it's fun to play, which FFIII never is. Sure it gets repetetive after a while, but as long as it's fun for 10 seconds, then that's still more then FFIII. :NomNomNom:

Kovu, you're just so closed minded of other kinds of RPGs or something :pacman:

I tried it once and it seemed fine to me. I might even go out and buy it if I'm motivated enough to get moneyz

I do have to admit it, but the Pokemon series does get really repetitive to some people as they are actually annoyed by the same forumla in every freckin game.

No, no. You've got me all wrong. All types of RPGs are good, though some better. It's stuff outside of RPGs that I'm closed-minded to. That'll never change.
Within the realm of RPG I'm open to all the different possibilities. That doesn't stop some games from failing.

@ Kristoph Gavin: I don't actually know who you are with all of the name changing going on around here, but you're terribly wrong on all fronts. (Except, possibly, sound quality. But that can be forgiven.)

There are like 10 rare candies in the game.

EV Training takes too much effort and time to create a pokemon that MIGHT help you play competitively. I just don't see the fun.
