A mafia game with an ace attorney/bad sci-fi novel twist. You'll see what I mean once I've sent all the PMs. :Psyduck:

Behold, the mafia roles of the ace attorney world, and their FEFF counterparts. I did make some of these roles up, and I'm not sure how they'll work out. But let's make it fun anyway.

Head Rivales, a.k.a. the Godfather
The leader of the family. He/she will select one person to kill each Night Phase. Knows the identity of everybody in the family - of course. If the Head Rivales dies, a randomly chosen family member will take their place.

Rivales Family, a.k.a. the Mafia
The members of the mafia out to get control of the city. These people will know each other’s identity.

Dick Gumshoe a.k.a. the Detective
This scruffy citizen is nevertheless the only detective on your side, pal. Each Night Phase, the Detective can investigate one person and learn their role.

Ron DeLite a.k.a. the Bodyguard
Ron will choose one person per Night Phase to defend. This person cannot be killed by the mafia or vigilante. This KB security guard can choose to save their own skin, but not for two Night Phases in a row.

Wocky Kitaki a.k.a. the Vigilante
A citizen O.G. who finds everyone suspicious. He/she may choose one person to kill per Night Phase. Wocky does not have to act.

Larry Butz a.k.a. the Witness
When something smells, it’s usually the Butz. Larry seems to witness more than his fair share of murderers. One day it might get him into trouble. Has a chance of witnessing one of the kills made during the Night Phase - but he won’t know whether this person is the mafia or vigilante.

Wesley Stickler a.k.a. the Prostitute
Intrigued by a certain magician’s show, the panty snatcher has taken it upon himself to investigate this panty phenomenon. Well, they say you can tell a lot about a person by their laundry. Can discover the role of one person per night, and if they have a special role, they will be unable to act - too busy trying to recover their underwear. However, if the panty snatcher or his victim is killed, the other will die too.

Maya Fey a.k.a. the Spirit Medium
During the Night Phase, Maya may choose to channel a dead citizen. The spirit medium can then perform the special role of this citizen. If she channels a citizen with no special role, she will be told the identity of one remaining player. Cannot channel for two Night Phases in a row, and cannot channel the same person more than once.

Apollo Justice a.k.a. the Attorney
A skilled defence attorney capable of extracting information from any witness. Knows the identity of Larry Butz. When Larry witnesses a night phase kill, Apollo will investigate the crime scene and obtain clues as to the killer’s identity - vigilante or Rivales?

Klavier Gavin a.k.a. the Rockstar
Even during these troubled times, he still has his token following of fangirls. If Klavier and his fangirls are killed, the murderer will leave a lot of clues at the scene.

Phoenix Wright a.k.a. the Bullet-Proof Citizen
The man himself. His luck seems impossibly good. Cannot be killed during the Night Phase.

Citizen a.k.a. the Nameless Masses
Ordinary, run-of-the-mill person. No special talents. If you didn’t get a PM, you know who you are.

And the stars of the show . . . ((Updated up to NP5))

This is what I meant by weird.

To have an Ace Attorney theme I had to roll with whatever came into my head. And guess what, it was this crap. :Psyduck:

Warning: tl;dr alert. But it does feature HI_Alchemist.

Fusion Mafia VII: Ace Attorney
The Oddest Game Fef Has Ever Seen

Because of the sudden rise in the influence of the mafia, the city of Fef had seen many changes. The mayor was trying everything in his power to stop this sudden uprising of criminals. He even went as far as enlisting the services of the great HI-Alchemist.

The area north of the river, known as Chitchat, hid an underground network of huge proportions. Some said it was as old as the city itself. Some said it was even older than that. One thing that everyone agreed on, though, was that this network of tunnels belonged solely to one ancient group of Fef: the alchemists.

“Get me some copper sulphate!” HI-Alchemist demanded. His assistant, standing in for her friend Linoud because he was too lazy to turn up for work, sighed and went to fetch the ingredient.

Hollie searched the shelves for the blue powder (what sort of alchemist used copper sulphate anyway?). This was definitely the last time she agreed to cover for that Irish bastard. It hadn’t seemed such a bad deal at the time, she got to keep the day’s pay after all, but even the fact that she was getting paid didn’t make putting up with HI-Alchemist any easier. He might be brilliant and immortal and everything, but he was really, really bossy.

Frowning, Hollie suddenly caught sight of something on a shelf nearby. It looked like a magatama, but as she picked it up curiously and inspected it, she could see that it was actually an oddly-shaped bottle and contained some sort of powder. Unscrewing the lid, she was mildly surprised to find that it smelled faintly of mint and that the silvery powder inside glowed a little. She stared at it, wondering what the hell it could be.

“Hurry up, dammit! I don’t have all day!”

The sudden shout from HI-Alchemist made her jump and Hollie dropped the magatama-bottle. It fell to the floor and shattered into a thousand tiny pieces, green-ish glass and silvery powder scattering everywhere. Oddly, she thought, looking down at the mess, none of it had fallen on her. There was a tiny circle of clean floor around her feet.

Suddenly, the powder began to glow, brighter and brighter until Hollie was forced to shut her eyes against the glare. The smell of mint became overpowering. She had never liked the taste of mint to begin with, which made it all the worse.

There was a noise like the screech of fingernails down a blackboard, as loud as a person’s shout. Then, abruptly, the light disappeared. There was no sign of the powder that had littered the floor only moments earlier; the only evidence of Hollie’s clumsiness that remained were the tiny pieces of green glass.

Across the city of Fef, people who had been there only seconds ago - albeit surrounded by a cloud of an odd silvery powder that glowed and smelt, strangely, of mint - suddenly disappeared. Spectators looked on, astounded, convinced that they had gone mad. Or perhaps it was a close encounter? Laharl telephoned the local newspaper in excitement, only to be told to stfu and gtfo because the Editor had disappeared.

Hollie stared at the floor in surprise. Something had happened, that was for sure. But what? She knew it had been a bad idea to come here, you never knew what could happen with the strange alchemists.

“What the hell was--?” HI-Alchemist stopped mid-sentence, taking in the guilty teenager and the glass on the floor. “You broke the magatama, didn’t you? Do you have any idea what you’ve just done?”
“Something really bad?”
“Well, let’s just say that this isn’t something covered by the insurance . . .”

Meanwhile, in a messed-up parallel universe . . .

20 residents of Fef suddenly found themselves in a strange place with no one else in sight, in a body that definitely wasn’t theirs. It was only until they looked in a mirror, however, that they realised that something very weird had happened.

“Not good,” DSie said, staring at her reflection.

“I swear I didn’t have that much to drink last night,” Linoud thought glumly.

“Oh, awesome, look at me,” PZ smirked, admiring his new self in the mirror.

“WHAT THE FUCK WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS I WILL END YOU!” Sentenal shouted wildly, smashing the glass of the mirror he’d found, although a few people might’ve said his reflection was a marked improvement.

Suddenly, a voice with no source was heard. “Hello? Hello? Can you all hear me? I can’t tell if this stupid thing is ever on . . . just speak out loud, I’ll be able to hear you.”

“What the hell is going on? Why do I look like Apollo Justice?” a voice piped up.

A chorus of similar complaints fell on HI-Alchemist’s ears. Ron DeLite, Dick Gumshoe, Klavier Gavin, Wesley Stickler . . .

“God, shut up! I only wanted a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer!” The effect of shouting from a disembodied voice was not insubstantial, and everybody fell silent. “Right, okay, there’s been a little accident here and it seems you lot got the short end of the stick. The fact is, one of my world-transporters shattered. And of course, it would be the cursed one.”

In the background, another, feminine, voice could be faintly heard, “It’s not my fault! Why leave something like that lying around anyway?”

“As I was saying,” HI-Alchemist interrupted sharply, “A world-transporter is supposed to take you to another world, oddly enough, but this cursed one seems to have created one for you. One with an evil twist.”

“The concept of evil is only the angle from which we, humans, view things, but not a term that can be defined. We must consider not the ‘good’ and the ‘evil’ but the effect of deeds on today’s society. The definition of evil is a matter of scholarly interest dating back--”

“Shut up already! Feezus Christ, you people are impossible! I’m trying to help here!” HI-Alchemist’s voice carried a distinct tone of annoyance, “Anyway, the bad thing about this gadget creating another world is that it’s not meant to exist. It’ll collapse on itself and ultimately be destroyed, with you in it. I can keep it open for longer but I can’t help you find a way back, you’ll have to do that yourselves. Wow, this is starting to sound like a cliché fantasy novel . . .”

“So wait, what does the Ace Attorney series have to do with all of this?”

“Put simply the world-transporter created a world based on the mind of the person who broke it. Unfortunately - or fortunately, take your pick - for you, its shape just happened to remind them of Phoenix’s magat-- WHAT?!”

The citizens of Fef winced in unison.

“Crap, a bad situation just got worse.” HI-Alchemist told them, “I’ve reason to believe that when you were picked at random, five members of the mafia were included.”

“What?!”

“You’re kidding me!”

“That can’t be right, pal.”

“Oh I assure you it’s correct. This changes everything. The mafia are gonna be out to get you.”

“That’s insane.”

“Didn’t you hear our Wesley Stickler earlier? You might still be citizens of Fef at heart, but whilst you’re in this universe you’ll abide by its laws. That includes roleplaying, of a sort. To get home, I’m pretty sure you’ll have to win the game.”

“The game? But you’ve just made me lose it!”

“Not that game. Since this world is based on a game, it stands to reason you’d have to win a game to get out of there . . . wow, now this sounds like a bad sci-fi novel . . .”

“What the hell are you talking about?”

“Oh you’ll see, you’ll see . . . anyway, I need to go stabilise the rest of the universe. You can manage by yourselves from here.”

Needless to say, this was not the most encouraging note to finish on. The Fef citizens - and the five mafia amongst their ranks - were prepared for the worst.

Back in a slightly more normal world . . .

“Here,” HI-Alchemist said, handing Hollie a pile of tarot cards.

She stared at them in confusion. “What the hell are these for?”

“Weren’t you listening to a word I said? I’m going to save the universe, so somebody’s got to look after them!”

“But you said . . .”

“Nevermind what I said! That was just for their benefit.”

Hollie sighed. “Well, what am I supposed to do with the tarot cards?!”

“I don’t know. You work something out.”

HI-Alchemist left, muttering under his breath, to stop the universe from pulling itself apart. Hollie stared at the cards in her hands for a while. After some time, her face broke into a grin. She’d just had an idea.

She only hoped that it would work . . .

Hollie, the GM, has really screwed up this time! PMs now please!

Night Phase 1 begins.

EDIT: And there were no clues in the above at all. I just wrote it.

They'd need the Godfather, and the Godfather stops being the Godfather when they die.

x_o Somehow it seems like the mafia's advantage shrinks with every game. Now the civilians have even more special roles. It was tough when I was in Soja's mafia, now the mafia has to deal with this?

Whatever I guess. Holly's choice.

I have some more special roles for citizens in my game.

In contrast, I have more roles for mafia in my game as well. :hmm:
