"It was no more than a month ago.....I never really got a good look and it was dark in the forest. All I remember is the angry shouts....it was dark when my mother was captured, too. I was too scared to look at their faces so I just flew away as fast as I could....I panicked, I'm sorry. I couldn't be too far away from here, though..." She tilted her head to the side, again, puzzled at the piece or parchment Hassan brought out, "....May I ask what you're doing?" |

Hasan grimaced. That didn't leave him with a lot of information, not enough to warrent a search. "I was going to request for a search party, but that doesn't leave me with much information. I could ask the authorties to put out notices for missing people, though I doubt they'll be able to find your parents. It's been a month and you really can't tell me who attacked you or where it happened." The young man seemed to wither. So much for being able to do something. Useless like usual. |

Nienna put a hand on his forearm and gave him a soft smile to try to comfort him, "Honestly, Prince, I don't think they are missing. I'm fairly certain they are....dead. And I've made my peace with that...I miss them dearly, but nothing I can do will bring them back, so the only thing I can do is press on alone...regardless, we've got more important things to do than finding my parents...so don't worry about it, okay?" |

The young prince didn't look very reassured. "... Oh. Well, at the very least, we can put a notice out. It can't hurt." He picked up the pen and started to write a letter, but lacking the former energy he had. Once finished, he dried the letter, folded it, and sealed it. He stood up and sighed again. "I'm sorry Nienna. You have my brother, me, and the others at least. Right?" He offered her a little sad smile. |

"Yes." she smiled a little brighter at him, "That's right. And I'm happy to have you all....I think I was sent here for something important....somehow. Not just the plague, but...something else...." |

"Well, I'm sorry to let you down, but I'm the least important person here. Even though I'm a prince, I don't have much power. Helping you and Vaull is the most important thing I've done... Or rather been assigned. But I suppose we'll see after we do a little resesarch." |

"You haven't let me down, Hassan. I never expected you to bring my parents back to me. And you still have a lot left to teach me and tell me about, you know." She'd try to change the subject a a little, "And on that note what're we looking at first?" |

"I suppose so. I just feel like I should do something. But... Thanks." He wanted to hug her though didn't want to offend her or anything. He wanted to offer her some comfort, though he was far too timid to do that. "Oh, I thought we'd start by researching the origin of the Heron Laguz, Meleka, the Lady of the Song. I'm not very familiar with the mother of all heron laguz and daughter of Tau, the God of Beasts. I figured it might give us some insight to the capacity of your kin's magic." |

Nienna smiled and hugged him. More to comfort him than herself. "Really, it's okay." "Oh, that would me make me a very happy birdie! Let's get started." She was very excited about this part. Maybe even girlishly giddy. |

After returning her hug and not swooning, he let go with red cheeks and offered her a smile. "Thank you." "Oh, well the history part might not be too interesting, but it's a good place to start." He'd pick up a book and wander over to one of the comfortable looking chairs near the fire place. He gestured for her to "Back at the dawn of Austral, when the two goddesses and the mighty platypus god crafted our world, they birthed life and the children of the gods. One of many of these children was Meleka, Lady of the Song. She was the most beautiful and kind being in the world. Meleka was amongst the most benevolent of the deities aside from Anahera. She fed the hungry, tended to the sick, and solved strife where it arose. Her singing was renown amongst the gods, known to bewitch any soul to hear her beautiful song." "One day however, Elentra, the goddess of darkness, sent forth her malevolent shadow demons to prey on the people who lived in Anahera's light. Anahera bestowed Meleka gifts to vanquish these foes. The first of the gifts was to evoke Meleka's divine light to slay the beasts. The second gift was the ability to use that light to heal those injured by the shadows. The last of her gifts was the ability to peer into the souls of others, to tell if they were an agent of Elentra or wicked of heart." "Hmm... That looks like that's all the important parts. This is from the Temple to Anahera, so I'm not too sure how accurate it may be." |

Nienna took a seat next to Hassan and listened closely to what the book said, "Hmmm....Meleka...Elentra...I do recall my parents using those names, and of course Anahera. I think it's fairly accurate |

"On the contrary, Prince, I do, but I get the feeling that'd take awhile. I'll read them on my own once I learn to read common enough...unless you want to read it to me, that is." |

Hasan frowned at Nienna. "... I can read a few of them if you like. However, most of the stories about the heron laguz that I've heard don't end well." |

Nienna frowned back, "I see...." she sighed and took a deep breath, and let it out slowly, "....please read me a few. I...want to know about them and about myself. It feels strange not knowing about most of the history of my own people...." |
