Sariena leaned back from the fire a bit, her eyes on the star-lit sky overhead, subconsciously feeling the small lump in her robes that told her the Philosopher's Stone was still in the hidden compartment she had left it in. While she did manage to slip past the quarantine and escape the city with Zanzoo, she couldn't help but wonder what was worse: Being stuck in the city with everyone hunting her for the Stone, or being stuck with Talon's group of robbers outside. She could feel Talons eyes on her, making her want to reach for her Thunder tome and zap the laguz into oblivion, but immediately discarded that idea. The rest of his men would have objected. Probably. The first time he had made avances at her, they ended up having a shouting match, and Zanzoo had ultimately ended up locked in a cage for his trouble. No, she needed a different plan. Running away would mean Talon would kill her to prevent being ratted out to the authorities, and said authorities would likely want to kill her for having stolen the Philosopher's Stone. The worst part of it was that Talon knew of her reputation as the Black Cat, making him blackmail her with handing her over to city officials if she didn't join his band. She was locked between a rock and a hard place, but she ad a plan. It was a long shot of course, but anything was better than this. |

Zanzoo was trying to be careful to not get IN to these situations with Sariena. But here he was. In a cramped animal cage. All he did was try to defend the cat laguz and here he was, in a cell. No weapons, no personal belongings beside his armor, and no means of escaping soon. The lock looked weak enough to break, but he was lacking something break it with. The guards were thieves, but probably subpar when facing a professional soldier. However he was... again, without weapons. He should avoid trusting women in the future. Especially women that are thieves. |

Completely ignoring Talon, she got up from where she was sitting, walking in the direction Zanzoo was being kept in. She really did feel sorry for getting him into this mess in the first place, but truth be told if she hadn't, she very much doubted she'd still be alive, as both the Cult and the nobles looked as if they could have drank her blood. There was a single guard at the cages, looking bored at being assigned to the task, but it prevented Zanzoo from breaking te lock open before an alarm could be raised anyway. - "Evenin' Toram, lemme talk to him for a bit, 'kay?" Not waiting on a response, she - "Hey... Sorry about getting you into this mess, y'know?" Truth be said, she was at a loss for words. Normally when she was talking through a set of bars she was the one locked in, and to now experience that feeling the other way around felt... awkward. Still, she had to go through with this or the entire situation would just keep going further and further downhill for her here. For the both of them. Edited by Jehaine, Dec 14 2008, 03:04 PM.

Zanzoo glanced to see who was coming by. He didn't have much else to do other than watch the thieves and count the number of bars of his cell. Fifty eight to be exsact. The twenty ninth bar from the origin (the bar on the left corner from his perspective) was rusted slightly at the base. Nothing really worth remembering though, even if he broke that one bar, he wouldn't be able to get out. He saw that the newcomer had a familiar pair of legs. He wasn't going to hold his breath though for any new developments. He forced a bit of a smile as she brushed away the hair from his face. "Well, as long as you are sorry, I'll forgive you. Though I hope you intend to get me out soon. I haven't figured out what to do if nature calls." |

Sariena grinned at Zanzoo's comment. At least he hadn't lost his sense of humor, so perhaps things weren't so bad after all. Still, she winced almost unnoticeably as he asked her to get him out of the cage. She couldn't do that... Well, she could, but it would involve her sleeping with Talon, and that was something she didn't want to do. - "Can't do that, sorry. Talon's keeping an eye on me himself. Still, that doesn't stop me from being grateful you stuck up for me..." She grinned, reaching in through the bars again to grab his shirt and pull his face closer to hers. Her other hand went through the bars as well, her arms wrapping themselves around his neck as she kissed him. There was a very noticeable rustle in one of the nearby bushes, and the cat laguz gave a soft chuckle, knowing fully well that she had just stepped on Talon's pride again. Zanzoo would find something shoved in the back of his shirt though. - "Now then, be sure to show me what i taught you, okay?" <3 Standing up again, she waved and left again, ignoring the look the guard was giving her. Her tail swished back and forth as she walked, a sign that she was feeling amused at the current situation. Should Zanzoo check what Sariena had left him, he would find a small note telling him to find the Church and lead them to her, and to tell them she knew the location of the Philosopher's Stone. Knowing them, they'd definitely take the bait regardless of hwether it was a trap or not. Oh, and the note had been wraped up around a lockpick too, never knew when that might come in handy. Sariena hadn't seen Talon anywhere after she had kissed Zanzoo, he was probably fuming in his tent. Good. Taking out a small blowpipe, she loaded it with a dart and snuck up to the man guarding Zanzoo. The man swatted what he believed was a fly landing on his neck, but before he could look he collapsed and started to snore. If Zanzoo was to escape, now'd be the time to do it. |

"I can't entirely blame him. You are a masterpiece after all." He said, referring to their flirting back in Gannus' manor. "Though I don't think he's you're type." Seriena probably didn't fit in too well with other thieves. She was a freelancer and enjoyed a bit of theatrics. Zanzoo wasn't fully sure that he knew why he was tagging along with her actually, but she was rather good company and made things interesting. Very interesting after the kiss too. He was startled at first but got into a little afterwards, returning the kiss. If this was a consequence of being jailed, he'd have to get caught more often. He felt something slipped down the back of his shirt. He had an idea of what it was. "I won't let you down." He whispered back. He offered a bit of a grin and investigated his present after she was gone and no one was looking. He read the note quickly then got onto his knees. He was going to bolt from his cage once he opened it to get the jump on the guards, but a few seconds later apparently she had already dealt with that. He reached out from his prison with the pick in hand and worked away at the cold lock. He was getting better at picking locks, but no master yet. It took him several seconds to liberate the lock, but it popped open. He crawled out of his cage as not to cause a ruckus and liberated the guard of his weapon, gold, and anything else on him that would be of use. The warrior didn't waste time standing there, he rushed away... As quietly as he could while still wearing some of his armor. He'd have to thank Seriena later. |

- "WHAT DO YOU MEAN, HE ESCAPED?!" Talon's voice roared through the campsite when he heard Zanzoo had escaped from his cage. Fortunately for Sariena, most of the hawk laguz' anger had been aimed at the person assigned to guard him rather than herself, despite knowing she and Zanzoo were partners. Then again, Talon had never been the sharpest tool in the shed anyway. Camp was broken up shortly afterwards as the band of rogues feared their location might have been compromised by now, and Sariena acted as if she fully cooperated. That is, if you didn't count the hidden signs she was leaving behind for Zanzoo to follow later on. It might take him a while to get some help and catch up to her again, but that he would she was certain of. They simply needed the Stone too badly. |
