You guys take me too seriously :kermit: here is the TRUE #1 game of the decade:

#1: Grand Theft Auto IV
Posted Image
Release Date: April 29, 2008
Platforms: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC
Developer: Rockstar Games

"Grand Theft Auto III was a revolutionary title, one that inspired a whole new generation of 3D action games. Grand Theft Auto IV is just as big a leap forward, though perhaps in subtler ways, and sets a new benchmark for open-world games. Everything in GTA IV works in harmony. The story would be nothing without the city; the city gains realism from the physics engine; the physics complement the improved AI; the AI would make no sense without the new cover system. And on and on. There is no one major weak aspect. " ~IGN

"In case you haven't guessed already, Grand Theft Auto IV is a game that you simply have to play. The single-player game, which you can still play long after you complete the story, is the series' best by far, and the multiplayer features are good enough that you'll likely have no problem finding people to play with for many months to come. The minor flaws that you'll experience are no more difficult to overlook than those in previous GTA games, and they're greatly outnumbered by the features that will impress and surprise you anytime you think you've already seen everything that the game has to offer. There's lots to see in Liberty City, so you'd best get started. " ~GameSpot

"There are honestly too many facets and nuances to the game to be covered in a single page review (seven, maybe, but not just one). Even dozens of hours in, you’ll notice little touches that make the game sing, like a tiny change in Niko’s expression during a cutscene or an incoming cell phone call making your car’s speakers buzz momentarily. The important thing is that after many years of frustrating missions, driving back home to save repeatedly, struggling with wonky physics, and dealing with farcical storylines, GTA IV has delivered a polished and almost fully renovated experience with a darker and more mature treatment of the subject matter. Grand Theft Auto IV is not just a great GTA game, but a legitimately great game. Rockstar North has taken the series that defined the previous gaming generation and not only updated it to meet next-gen standards, but raised the bar for all subsequent open-world games." ~X-Play

My largest complaint with this list is the inclusion of sequels etc. I don't understand why you need to include so many versions of Madden and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater; in the end the games are so similar from year to year that each year shouldn't be treated as a new game, but each new game treated as an expansion of the originals. Unless the games are radically different (FF, e.g.), then it's silly to keep tossing out the same games.
That doesn't make any sense.
Of course it does. Madden 2004 and Madden 2005 are so similar that you might as well review Halo 2 and Halo 2 + Expansion Pack Maps as two distinct titles.

This. Especially wtih sports games... how much can you really change each year. There is a huge difference between Madden 2000 vs. Madden 2010, but that was 10 years of little changes. In respect to this list, I don't really understand how every other sports game is on it. =/

GTA IV can take that spot rightfully, I suppose. :psypoke:

There is a light that never goes out...

When I saw "Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing" as #1, I was about to lock this topic, among other things. But then Adam saved himself D:

Anyway, this is a troll list :kermit:

nice troll sety

gta IV is alright i guess. and the huge hype surrounding its release, not to mention furious fapping by reviewers about it, justifies its #1 spot.

if there's something we can all get behind, it's running over scads of people in a supercar stolen from some uptown yuppie, who happened to be beaten to death for her trust fund money in front of the haute couture coffee house where all her other townie cohorts also met an unfortunate end at the flank of a careening SUV.

(i'm not bitter.)

I'd say it's a game that's taught me so many life lessons... Like if you're in need of a really good gun, kill a pimp, because for some reason those fuckers always have the nicest firearms. Also it's not prostitution if you kill them and get the money back.

Drug dealers seem to have more cash than pimps, though.

I think you are probably blind if you think the game is ugly.
