They generally do fine, aside from Synergist Sazh, who for some reason wants to cast every possible buff on Vanille before moving on to himself. Really now, Vanille doesn't even have an attack command, it's quite alright if you skip the attack-strengthening magic, Sazh, but noooo. |

Hmm, I'm kinda "over" Vanille...I'm at the part with her and Sazh in the area where you can change the weather; the duo-boss at the end is like, gay. Can someone who got that far want to give me some tips? On another note, I like what they did with the Lightning-Hope team, and can't wait to (possibly) kick major ass with Snow and Fang...because Snow's stockpiled about 1 billion CP so far... I still like vanille but I'm over snow by the cut scenes alone, lol. It'd be great if vanille (as a healer) could evntually learn how to attack. So far she just stands there until I need healing or I change the paradigm settings. I used to hate hope but he's less bitchy now and he's the only one with Protect so far :/ |

I made a stupid mistake; I didn't make Sazh a Commando during the fight. I've since breezed through that level, and am now at the point where Snow and Hope have teamed up, and have just escaped an angry (albeit harmless) mob. But, more on my mistake. In case any of you didn't know, the Commando and Ravager have both similar yet different roles in battle; this being said, it's good to use both at once during any given battle. The main difference is that the Commando is able to keep the Stagger gauge steady and not lower; the Ravager is there to provide quick and large spurts of the gauge's level; however, Ravagers have the tendency to have the gauge fall at an impressive rate. tl;dr, Commando will keep your Stagger gauge at the amount the Ravager boosts it to. (This makes Paradigms such as Dualcasting obsolete, IMO) Your Ravager characters should have access to the Medic role as well, so it's simply a switch between COM/RAV -> COM/MED, whenever somebody's low on HP. And with three party members...I haven't formed a good strategy yet, since the game doesn't really let you have three characters too often. :/ |

Anyone? I'm poor as hell, and you don't get money from battles anymore, I don't think. So do I just have to live off treasure chests? |

I'd like to add that although the ravager increases the stagger gauge a good amount for each attack, it does no good unless the commando attacks before the gauge falls so far that you lose the gauge bonuses the Ravager provided through his or her attacks since the commandos' attacks slow down the rate of depletion in the stagger gauge. Right now its Lightning and Hope in the white forest thing for me. I like commando/Synergist until Hope finishes casting protect and then switch to commando/ravager. I mostly do this against larger groups or high HP enemies. Money is fairly scarce in the game, granted some "chests" or whatever give you a few hundred Gil. You can sell upgrade materials or unwanted/unneeded weapons and accessories but I'd keep the upgrade materials. I'm not at a point in the game where I need to buy things just yet so every ones' weapons are either level 3 or higher and Lightning's Gladius sword might be at level 5 or 6 |

Just got my entire party reuinited, the upgrade system is easy to abuse once you learn how. Level 20 Denneb Duelers/Gladius/Power Circle ftw. Money is easy to come by, just sell those upgrade components called Incentive Chips and... something else-Chips. They're only there for selling. |

At that point I was on some huge airship and the entire party was united for the first time. I forgot the playtime. I got to the part where the game opens up and becomes unlinear. Probably my favorite "world map" (something of a misnomer) ever. |
