Your friendly neighbourhood spiderman.

That's at like 30 hours in or something isn't it? How is the game at that point?

I'm still in the white forest thing, where you first run into wild animals. I'm kinda liking Hope now that he's becoming less of a little bitch. Lightning is my favorite character though.

It was 26 hours for me, but yeah. It's still great, and the overworld is extremely impressive to walk around in. The pacing of the story kinda got shot to hell now that I'm off sidequesting, though, but it's still good.

Are the side-quests actually developed? Are they worth doing? Is it still go here, do this just on the world map for the story? I really need to get this game for myself, damnit.

The grounds for accepting the sidequests is developed, but the actual sidequests aren't. They're all missions where you're tasked to kill a specific enemy, pretty much. But they're pretty fun because it gives you a reason to explore the world and the mission-enemies are cool. That, and the rewards are awesome. The ability to teleport between areas is awesome in the huge world, and items acquired for successfully doing a mission can either be worn or sold for Gil, which is strangely scarce in this game.

The main plot is still advanced by going to a certain point. Like pretty much every other game.

Are the battles like those in FF12 because they look the same from what I've seen, save for the metamorphing Summons. :kermit:

No, it's completely different. I explained it slightly a few pages back.

This game sure has it rough. It seems like most people want to hate it just for being FF, despite the fact that it's actually a really good game.

Yeah I know, it got an 8.3 from IGN and on the 7-10 scale that's dissapointing.

There is a light that never goes out...

FF12 played like an MMORPG, except 1player. The battles in this game are an ATB battle system that is sort of Chrono Cross-ish, with a bit of FFX-2 IMO. Completely different from FF12.

I'd say it's just an improvement of FFX-2's system tbh. They just took that idea further.
