What's wrong with the Canadian and European healthcare? I used it and it works fucking fine.

...Our system right now is a private system. You know that, right? And increased government bureaucracy is supposed to save the Government money? When has that EVER happened? |

It's not like the Republicans have done a lot about it, not from what I can remember when they had power. Don't get me wrong, I don't care much for the Democrats right now either. Their rampant spending has me rather put out. The debt caused by bills passed has been staggering and the results are questionable at best. Would have we been better off without those spend stimulus plans? Maybe, but I have my doubts. Both sides seem equally incompetent, but it's not like there is a golden third option out there. |

Policies individually will cost more. Those who are in group policies, there would be no significant change in premiums. 32 million persons would fall into the nongroup market, but they would make up only 17 percent of workers covered by private insurance. We still take $200 or something from each family to cover the uninsured, however, so to say it doesn't cost money is lolz. And this is definitely one of the bigger plans. I'm not going get into whether or not another country's health care system is superior or inferior, or that someone is a communist or not. Edited by Crysta, Mar 22 2010, 12:31 AM.

Couldn't they have implemented their own idea of how health care should have been handled? Anyways, it doesn't matter too much now. |

Was it the Senate the one that didn't approve the bill last time? |

Canada's system makes it so it takes forever to get into a hosipital. America's system makes it so you can't get into the hospital at all. Then again, my mom thinks I'm a noob with this stuff (she really said that), so dont' expect me to post here again.

No, you always get in, no matter how much money you have. Recently one of my best friend's uncle got emergency surgery on his heart without insurance or money. Blank, the bill is still going back to the Senate from what I know. |

Let me rephrase: Insurance covers you almost 100% of the time in Canada, it just takes forever to actually get into the Hospital (due to so many cases). American Health Care is so corrupt that getting coverage on damn near anything is pretty rare.
lol@implying there was no cost for that surgery
Funny, because I can't tell if you are trolling, or just a giant douchebag. Edited by AdamNW, Mar 22 2010, 01:01 AM.

You can always get into hospitals in the US... usually. If they have too many in the ER or whatever, they have to start direct ambulances to other hospitals and hopefully they have beds. I know at least some hospitals (like Providence) usually eat the cost of some million dollars of debt that people can’t pay in medical bills. Then again, they are a non-profit hospital but I suspect other hospitals do the same. @Inui: ah I see. |
