Captain Marinus approached the railing to the edge of the airship, dropping his hands down onto the once polished wood railing to support him as he leaned out. The man sucked in a deep breath of the crisp, cold air of the night. His heavy long coat kept the chill of the Middle Winds out and his body heat in. The middle aged man scanned the horizon for several minutes before being able to make out the object he searched for. Partly obscured by clouds was an white iron clad ship. Its hull was illuminated barely by the moon light and the various spotlights that were slowly pivoting about, searching the sky ahead of it and to the sides. It seemed that they were searching for something. Fortunately, they weren’t going to find Marinus or his ship. The captain turned from the railing and walked down from the front of the ship to the main deck. He reached into his coat and pulled out a thin whistle. Giving the whistle a blow, the small device let out a shrill call. On cue, the crew of the ship appeared on the ship, appearing from all directions. Some monkey down from the riggings, others from below deck, another from the helm (save for the helmsman). Once the crew gathered on the deck, he tucked away the whistle he slid his hands into his pockets, glancing over the men and women in front of him. “Alright men, today it’s an imperial White Cruiser-“ began the captain, but was quickly cut off by one of the crew. “Who ya’ callin’ a man?” Protested Lina, the ship’s cook. This woman would easily be mistaken for the friendly neighborhood pudgy baker. Well, presuming she wasn’t garbed as a corsair. She looked like she weighed as much as a pregnant rhinoceros and was tall as most of the men. “Few ladies aroun’ here!” “You sure ain’t one of them.” Called out one of the men. The rest of the men laughed. Lina pouted. The captain sighed. “Calm down, calm down. Ladies and men…” He continued. “You know the drill. Take everything that isn’t bolted down to the ground that’s worth something. Avoid killing them if you can. They’re part of the White Falcon fleet; that means they are just your average law enforcers so it shouldn’t be too hard to rough them up without killing them. We’re thieves, not murders. As for our approach, we’ll be sailing in behind them as opposed to beside them, hopefully the man at the crow’s nest will be looking ahead along with the rest of the crew. Not sure what they are looking for, but they seem desperate enough to be doing the search during the night. Our goal is to board from behind, circle around to the deck and take out the sailor’s there quietly. I’ll deal with the man in the crow’s nest. The rest of you secure as much as the ship as we can before they start counter attacking. I’ll need someone to disable the engine. At that point, we should take what we can and leave the ship in a hurry. I’d rather we didn’t hang around for any other patrol ships to come to their aid or let fix their engine to come about and blow us to splinters.” By now the crew was rolling their eyes and yawning. The captain ignored it for the most part. Marinus liked to be careful with his looting. Having people die for some shiny coins never quite appealed with him. “Finally… Have some fun.” He announced, a faint tugging at the corners of the man’s mouth. “Prepair to board the enemy ship!” The crew let out a cheer as they lifted their weapons into the air. Captain Marinus of the pirate ship, Capri, turned away from the mob of corsairs he approached a weapons trunk to retrieve his weapon of choice for the raid. *** Meanwhile, Captain Inui of the Flaming Pigeon stood at the helm of the imperial ship. His hands rested on the iron rail in front of him, looking out over the dozen men and women manning the controls in the enclosed command center for the airship. They all were tired, well… except for Inui. They were ordered to conduct a search for a small vessel that had escaped the main military base in the city. He made his crew continue the search night and day while he, for the most part, relaxed in his cabin. Considering the urgency of the mission, he suspected there would be a promotion involved if he found that ship and returned it and what/who was on it. Thus, for the sake of his promotion and himself in general, he made his crew work to the bone. “First Mate, what is the status of our search?” Inui asked, taking that one important officer he never cared to remember his name. “Nothing yet, sir. We’re still searching.” Benactus replied, trying to hold back a sigh. Captain Inui never could remember his name and it was rather exasperating. “Well, keep searching!” Inui ordered, as if it weren’t happening already. “If we aren’t the first to find that ship, there will be hell to pay… Oh and the crew will be the one to pay for it.” The Captain returned to his seat and collected his after dinner tea from the polished oak table that sat next to him. It helped him digest the food before going to bed. Wanting to put some distance between him and his ‘superior,’ Benactus approached the tubing that lead to the other parts of the ship. Since it was an older ship, they didn’t have radio systems installed for communication. “Port side, report.” “Nothing here, sir.” “Starboard side, report.” “Nothing yet, sir.” “Bow, report.” “Nothing, sir.” “Crow’s-nest, report.” “I ain’t seen shit.” First Mate Benactus stepped away from the tubes and sighed again. It was going to be another long night. |

Evelynn was daughter of a well to do gun smith. She was raised as, more or less, a well mannered girl. She helped her mother and father with the gunsmithing every now and then. She also practiced marksmanship and the blade. However her parents were executed when the Empire thought they were selling arms to enemy nations, leaving her to care for the shop. However an unfortunate accident when building her own gun destroyed her left arm, forcing her to get a prosthetic one. Her business didn't do well since it was just her, an inexperienced gunsmith, running the shop. Left with little in life, she was forced to sell the shop and find another line of work. During a visit to a tavern, she ran in with the current crew of the Capri and learned they frequently raided Imperial ships. Wanting a taste of adventure and revenge, she signed up. And here she sat on a barrel on the Capri polishing her gunblade, waiting for the ship to board the other so she could have a little fun. The gunblade was a present from her deceased father, and therefore very precious to her. She also had a pistol, but she preferred this. Evelynn had light pink hair and blue eyes, with full, pinkish lips, and a well toned body. She was quite lovely, but she could be a bit viscous if annoyed or provoked. Which was why most of the men learned to leave her be, though she supposed that didn't stop them from staring when they thought she didn't notice. She hopped down from the barrel and walked over to the Captain, flexing her prosthetic arm. It still felt strange to her. Like her arm was still there, but she knew it wasn't. She let her arm drop as she stood next to him. "Looks like it's almost time, huh? I could probably take out the engine unless you have someone better for that job." |

A smaller Isabella Starling, a reckless mercenary with penchant for trouble, had her eye on the Capri. While her current ship suited her needs well enough, Star was always aspiring for bigger and better things. The idea was to hi-jack the ship while it was battling the clearly-less-cool Flaming Pigeon. She watched the two ships overhead with a hint of impatience. "C'mooon..." |

"No, you'll do fine. Just don't destroy it. I don't mean to go out of my way to avoid homicide just let them wither in their boat until they die of thirst." Marinus instructed, turning to Eve. Everyone on the ship the captain made part of the crew for one reason or another. He didn’t take any regular savage to be part of his band of corsairs. These reasons weren’t often shared with others, save for his First Mate and ship physician, Lance Redman. The doctor with an eye patch was currently at the enclosed helm, commanding the helmsman towards the Flaming Pidgin. Marinus and his crew were unaware of the lurking *** The soldier in the crow’s nest was oblivious to the pirates unit he pivoted to look behind the ship. To his surprise, there floated the corsair ship. He quickly turned and opened the hindged metal flap to the communication pipe. It was then he heard a brief buzzing sound followed by a painful sensation in his neck. “What the-?” He said, reaching up to touch where the pain originated from. All he managed to make out was that it was a dart that was embedded in his neck before the world went black and he collapsed onto the deck. *** Captain Marinus lowered the rifle to get a look at the Flaming Pidgin’s crow’s nest, now occupied by an unconscious lookout. He replaced the rifle in one of the weapons lockers on deck and closed it. It was about then Lance came out of the helm to the mostly empty deck. Marinus turned to his first mate to deal with some final details before he went aboard the other ship. “Redman, I’m going aboard the other ship. You’re in charge here until we get back. Lina here will stay behind and help guard.” Lina huffed and glared at the captain. “Why do I always stay behind?” “It’s because…” He glanced between his two crew members before settling his gaze on the corsair bread baker. “Lance gets skittish when alone. Only a pretty lady such as yourself can soothe his nerves.” Lance gave Marinus a vacant stare with his one eye but didn’t care to reply. Lina smiled at that and glanced over to Lance timidly. Now that the captain had that figured out, he hopped onto the railing, and then jumped onto to the other ship. Fortunately, things were going smoothly and the helm hadn’t noticed yet. It was only a matter of time though. As Edited by Blank, Jun 25 2010, 01:08 AM.

Eve hopped quietly onto the Flamin Pidgeon with her gunblade drawn, sticking to the darkest shadows she could find. She for the most part let the others deal with the crewmen. Her goal was the engine, though she still did her part in taking some down. Standard ships like this were pretty easy to read, so she made her way towards where she figured the engine room was. Upon reaching it, hopefully with few mishaps, she'd open the door a smidgen and check inside for people. |

Once the raid commenced, Star opened the cockpit and boarded the Capri in an unconventional way: by hookshot. Or rather claw shot. Whatever it was called, she didn't care. She didn't make it, but stole it. Still attempting to maintain stealth mode, she hoped the ensuing chaos would distract otherwise alert crew enough so she board the ship without notice. If this failed, she may have to go medieval on their asses. |

Eve would find that there was little resistance once inside. Partly because the crew was busy mopping up any unfortunate sailors that happen into their path. However she wouldn’t get lucky in one particular junction. She would end up a few feet away from the engineering room when she came upon two chatting sailors. The hall is too narrow to sneak past and going around would just put her back in the same situation. However she won’t have much time to ponder the situation… *** It was about then, first mate Benactus noticed something odd. The search lights on deck weren’t moving anymore. He curiously approached the window looking out over the ship and looked down onto the deck. It was dark, so it was hard to see, but he didn’t think there was anyone standing behind the search lights. The first mate returned to the speaking tubes and began to speak into them. “Search stations, report.” He announced into the tubes. After a long moment of silence he tried again. “Search teams, report!” Still no answer. The officer leaned into listen to each of the tubes. It was hard to hear since the flaps were probably closed on the other end, but he heard he thought he heard gruff voices. It wasn’t unheard of to slack on one’s duties on the ship, but it was odd for even the man at the crow’s nest to not reply. Everyone on this ship knew that without a man at the crow’s nest, they were wide open for attack or collision with other objects in the sky. The first mate started to call in several other stations on the ship to report but a handful failed to reply. This couldn’t be a coincidence. “All hands, code Beta! Code Beta! Code Beta! Begin lockdown, defensive measures, and rollcall.” The first mate announced to the bridge. Red lights on the ship started to flash and the lighting is dimmed slightly. Alarms sound throughout the ship. Inui jumps at the sudden announcement. “What is happening!? Owww! First mate Benactus, explain this! It had better be good, because you made me spill my tea!” Protested the superior officer, now with searing hot flavored liquid burning his genitals while he tried to brush away the hot water. “… Sir, I believe we are under attack. Many of our officers haven’t reported in and there are no signs our crew is on deck or in the crow’s nest. As a counter measure, I’ve initiated a lockdown.” Explained the first mate to the captain. “You aren’t authorized to give such commands!” He said, jumping to his feet and approaching the spot where the wheel was at before puffing up his chest. “All crew, code Beta! That’s an order.” Inui repeated Benactus’ command before turning to his first mate. “First mate, prepare my escape craft.” “But sir, we aren’t ev-“ Benactus began. “Silence! Haven’t you heard the most important rule of a captain? They aren’t supposed to go down with their ship! No excuses, first mate. If you ignore this order, I’ll be sure to tell on you!” Benactus grimaced but turned to the next in the chain of command. “Officer Redman, you have the ship until my return. I have to see Captain Inui to his escape boat. Continue with the lockdown and investigation of our lost crew. If it’s any form of assault on our ship, you have my… I mean his authorization to meet this aggression with force.” The first mate said before turning to escort his crotch soaked captain to the escape craft in the cargo bay. *** It was then the alarms went off and the code beta announcement was heard throughout the ship. The two chatting sailors jumped. “What? Is this a drill?” “Doesn’t matter, we need to start locking down the ship.” One turned to hurry off in another direction while the other turned towards Eve. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a lot of places to hide, so picking out the pirate wouldn’t be too difficult for the sailor. “Ah! Intruder!” In protocol with the military’s response to intruders on the ship, he followed standard procedure of “shoot now and ask questions later.” The man drew his pistol on the woman and would try to take a shot at her. Regardless the outcome the other sailor would hear and reverse course to aid his comrade, pulling out his cutlass in the process. *** Meanwhile, on the boat a Lance glanced around briefly. Frowning when he didn’t see anything at first. “Did you hear something?” “Just the sirens of love… In my heart.” Lina said, still giving the first mate oogly eyes. “… Right. Go look over there.” Lance said pointing towards the side Star was trying to sneak up on. |

"Too slow." Eve said coolly. In a flash her arm and gunblade were aimed at the sailor's head before he even got halfway to aiming at her. She fired, hopefully scoring a If that killed both she'd take a look at the engine, noticing there were alarms going off and the ship seemed to have stopped. "Maybe I should've used my other arm. That was no fun." she almost pouted. |

Star began to smoothly climb up the side of the Capri, unaware that she and her claw shot have been noticed. Once Lina looked over the edge, assuming she does, this fact readily becomes apparent. She paused and creased her brow as she stared up at the other woman. "Well, hello there. This is quite a dilemma..." |

The first one ended up with his brains painting the steel ceiling behind him before his soulless body tumbled to the floor. His blood from his head injury oozed onto the floor. His comrade was a little more fortunate in their encounter with Eve. The other man threw himself up against the steel wall and partly behind a steel beam to provide cover. The only thing he received was a grazing wound to his shoulder. The sailor swore, trying to squeeze himself further behind cover as he fumbled for something. A metallic ping could be heard before it was followed by the sound of something like a tin can hitting the ground. Eve would see the wounded sailor throwing something at her feet. Even if she did dodge the projectile and take cover, she’d be in for a nasty surprise. The canister exploded into a flash of light. Once the grenade went off, the sailor would try to come around and get a stab at her when while she recovered from the attack. *** Lina stared dumbly down at Star for a moment before a wide grin appeared on her pudgy face. She would try to reach down to try and grab Star by the scruff of her shirt and haul her up. “Look Lance! I found a boy!” |

Evelynn saw light, lots of light. "Tch." she growled, closing her eyes, and rubbing her forehead with her free hand. Luckily, she suspected he'd try to attack her, and opened her eyes in time to see his attack, though she still saw a lot of lights. She kind of sluggishly slid to the side a little, caught his wrist, and pulled while kneeing him swiftly in the stomach area. Eve let go, letting him fall forward, and then darted at him herself, slashing at his mid-section that would probably cut him in half. If not, she'd probably just shoot him in the back after he hit the ground. Anyway, after blinking a lot and letting her eyes clear, she'd take a look at the engine and the control panel. She'd see if she could find an easy on off switch, which she'd switch off and then shoot the panel. Unless they had a bunch of extra control panels around they'd be sitting around for awhile unless they knew how to hot wire an engine. Before leaving she'd make sure the ship stopped. |

Star frowned deeper once Lina took ahold of her, and promptly responded with... violence! Namely a swing to the face, but only once she was capable of putting two feet on the Capri. She didn't want to suddenly be thrown off into the abyss. Which may happen anyway. Boy!? Her orange hair may be short, but she wasn't ugly enough to be a man! Well, then again... this is probably an animu universe wherein ugly people are kept locked away.

"What the-" cried the sailor as he was some how butchered by the young woman when she was under the effects of a flash grenade. He let out a gargling... gargle as he keeled over and bled out. However when she reached the door to the engine, they were already shut tight. Might be due to the lock down. She would have to find another way in. *** Lina was forced to hold the trashing ship thief away from her else be hurt by her volatile retaliation. "And a feisty boy at that!" "That's not a boy, it's a girl, Lina." Lance pointed out, as he turned to Lina and approached her and the captive. "Put her down Lina, she isn't a thing. But don't let her go... This one doesn't look like she's up to good." He ordered the chef as he stopped in front of them. "So, young lady, who are you and what are you doing on this ship? |
