Orcs

Orcish Appearance

While elves are the race of beauty, orcs are the race of monstrosity. The orcs are taller than all humans and shorter than most elves, but their hulking muscle mass tends to make them seem much larger. All orcs, male and female, have broad shoulders and bulky muscle. There is no such thing as a 'thin' or 'curvy' orc woman. Orcs have a very caveman-like skull structure: large ridge above the eyebrow, square jaw, flattened nose, and many have underbites. As with the elves, orcs can be found in many different colors, but their skin tones tend to be much darker and grayer than those of elves. The most common of their skin tones (no matter where they live) are purple, green, and blue. Regardless of their skin tone, all orcs have pure black hair.

Culture

As a people, the orcs are violent, warlike and unintelligent. The concepts of art and the sciences are lost on them. Orcs have no interest in schooling because most orcs cannot read. The only subject that is widely known by the orcs is crafting. The orcs have many skilled weapon smiths that work in bronze or iron, so while they tend to use primative materials, their weapons are often far better craftsmanship than those of the humans.

Ancient Orcish History:
The orcs developed as a warlike, belligerent people; constantly fighting amoung themselves or the other races. In ancient times the orcs lived only in the mountains, and were usually united under one warlord. These warlords united the orcs, but were prone to unnecessary acts of violence as a display of power. While the ancient orcs had no written language, pictograms from ancient caves depict the warlords executing 'weaker' orcs that didn't value brawn over brain, thus developing the breed of orcs that exists today.

Orco-Reman War
After the orcs had begun to spread into the desert, the great warlord Za-Mir Akhi feared that he would lose his power. He called upon the orcs to destroy the humans, something the violent race gladly tried. While the orcs had superior weapons, they were severely outmatched when it came to fighting the humans. Akhi did not expect the horses or the tactics used by the Reman Empire.

Post-War:
After the crushing defeat of the orcs, Akhi was dethroned by his son Za-Mir II and daughter Ikura. The children learned from their father's defeat and began kidnapping more intelligent humans and elves to aid the leaders as strategists. Naturally this changed the way of orcish battles, because now leaders actually knew what to do, and their power could not be challenged by mere strength of their underlings.

Modern Times:
While still officially united under the longstanding Akhi regime, most areas are controlled by gangs. Many gangs roam the lands seeking out fights, some going as far as to unofficially invade the human and elvish nations. One of the most prominent gang leaders in the nation is Ya-Kala Tiyapo, a ruthless and brutal orc picking fights wherever she goes.
