King Crimson - Exiles This song is from the second King Crimson album I'm listening to. It needs a few more listens before I can fully appreciate it (as always), but it sounds good. I came across this performance of a King Crimson song ("In the Court of the Crimson King") on YouTube, and I must say, it's really, really good. I suggest you give it a listen. |

lol @ people just now discovering the Decemberists. And you can call anything progressive today, I guess. Most of their work is folk-pop as written by a mad English professor stuck in the 1700s. I don't know that it's progressive, but it is very good. Also, The Crane Wife is by far, by FAR their worst album. Please, go back and listen to their previous three. |

The Crane Wife is decent, but compared to any of their earlier work it sucks. There is a track or two that is exceptional, the rest is mediocre. Every track on Picaresque is head and shoulders above anything on The Crane Wife. |

The Decemberists - Summersong I've listened to most of the album, but I have to say I'm not too impressed. It's not bad music, but I don't find the singer's voice all that pleasant to listen to. One song I do find worthwhile is "Yankee Bayonet (I Will Be Home Then)", because the guest singer's voice is just lovely in it (not so much in her other music). And I'd definitely not call this music progressive. |
