there is no way out
the only way out
is to give in...

When there's no way out
the only way out
is to give in...

How...I...Loved...to
How....I....loved....to
How....I....loved.....to....give in....

Here no one sleeps
One lays up
While the other lays down...

Well no one sleeps
One lays up
While the other lays down...

Ask the line
on your face
what the line
on your hand
meant.........

We couldn't see
What was
coming....

fuck it if it's trendy I'm rockin it

King Crimson - Exiles

This song is from the second King Crimson album I'm listening to. It needs a few more listens before I can fully appreciate it (as always), but it sounds good.

I came across this performance of a King Crimson song ("In the Court of the Crimson King") on YouTube, and I must say, it's really, really good. I suggest you give it a listen.

Yes, the band is absolutely horrible -- however, "23" is a masterpiece. I suppose every band has to at least have one good song...

I'm listening to "I Will Be Heard" by Hatebreed.

"Now is the time for me to rise to my feet!
Wipe the spit from my face! Wipe these tears from my eyes!!!"

That's probably one of the best songs ever for mosh pits!

Btw, I saw Hatebreed at Ozzfest and they truly were incredible! If you enjoy heavy metal, then give them a listen.

lol @ people just now discovering the Decemberists.

And you can call anything progressive today, I guess. Most of their work is folk-pop as written by a mad English professor stuck in the 1700s. I don't know that it's progressive, but it is very good.

Also, The Crane Wife is by far, by FAR their worst album. Please, go back and listen to their previous three.

I absolutely love The Crane Wife. I think it's miles ahead of Picaresque, my second-favorite album of theirs.

And of course I've known about them for a while now, but only recently have I actually listened to them.

The Crane Wife is decent, but compared to any of their earlier work it sucks. There is a track or two that is exceptional, the rest is mediocre. Every track on Picaresque is head and shoulders above anything on The Crane Wife.

Sure, early. I'll go with that. At first I thought the album was rushed and incomplete. But it's the type of album where the more you listen the better it gets.

Well, see, I think that the reason why I like The Crane Wife so much is that I usually listen to albums from start to finish as opposed to individual songs, and The Crane Wife just works in that regard, moreso than their other CDs.

I tried that, but the general security sector 5's Security Combulation system keeps destroying my level six password blastoid. Should I try tightening up the graphics?

Tighten up the grafx with a new air intake import system to transmute the pixels to micro-binoculars.

The Decemberists - Summersong

I've listened to most of the album, but I have to say I'm not too impressed. It's not bad music, but I don't find the singer's voice all that pleasant to listen to. One song I do find worthwhile is "Yankee Bayonet (I Will Be Home Then)", because the guest singer's voice is just lovely in it (not so much in her other music).

And I'd definitely not call this music progressive.

Croi, do you like Ted Leo and the Pharmacists? I just got The Tyranny of Distance and I love it so far.

And maybe I just have a thing for unusual-and-often-polarizing voices (I love Spencer Krug's voice, believe it or not) but I adore Colin's voice.

That's cause Okkervil River rules. All of Black Sheep Boy and Down the River of Golden Dreams is really good. Actually, most of their shit is good.

And yeah, I like Ted Leo. One of those bands that I've heard but haven't actually had time to hear, so I don't have too much of an opinion yet. But someday I'll get around to it.
