I make Lincolnshire plum loaf - the cake version not the bread one- The tradition is that you give them as gifts at Christmas and if you recieve one it comes with a wish for a merry month.

I don't make mince pies - I buy them as my pastry is like industrial cement :(
Curiosity that sounds delicious
have you tried Lincolnshire plum loaf ?
Is it the mince pies that sound delicious or the plum loaf - the former definately isn't the the plum loaf is!
Sorry curiosity . I meant to say ask puffin if she's made it as she has loads of plums . Her Plum jam is delicious .

Along the same theme ie Christmas grub, I picked up a flier from the village hotel today.

If we were to go out for lunch on Christmas Day, it would cost us £35 each for myself, Mr RC and eldest RC, then youngest RC would cost £20. SO a grand total of £125 for lunch, that doesn't include service or wine or even a soft drink. It was a nice enough menu, but you just know it won't be relaxed, they will try and fit as many servings in as possible.

Thank goodness we never went out, I like it at home anyway.
