Institutes, also known as orders, clans or houses, are groups of individuals who have gathered around a common purpose or goal that they wish to further. Over time, as the Coalition has grown, it has evolved to include these institutes within its broad membership; creating new families within our greater community. All Coalition members are encouraged to join an institute, but may only be a registered member with one institute at a time, and are also free to create their own order if it means they meet the minimum requirements detailed below. Coalition members in an institute do, of course, continue within their Coalition department as normal; institutes have no power to command their members in relation to their Coalition rank or department. It is expressly forbidden for Institutes to interfere with the Coalition or with its progress. Each institute can have whatever focus it wishes, within reason. One institute may be focused on a profession, another on a moral perspective or religion and a third on enjoying fine cuisine! Your only limit is your imagination. ((Of course we do have minimum standards, so use your common sense and anything vulgar won't be accepted)) An institute can be organized in any way the group sees fit; hierarchical, leaderless, or any variation in between. Institutes are also free to create their own legal system. If however there is conflict, Coalition law is sovereign. And although not strictly required, institutes will be expected to present and promote a Senator when an election period begins. Minimum Requirements for Forming Institutes * Three or more active members * Description (IC text) of 100 words or more * Logo (100x100) - This must be accepted by Gilbert * Indication on your alliance page that you are an Institute of the GC |
