Perhaps this is a bit too early, but I think it's worth really aggressively trying to share the absolute heck out of everything we can. We have the blog, that's probably our best promotional material right now, and if we get people to start following our other social media accounts now then they'll soon be up and running fully and spreading the word and so on. So what I would like EVERYBODY to do at this point is to promote our little studio in any way you can. Show all your friends the blog, link to the Facebook page, make regular tweets about us... I hope i don't assume too much, but I imagine that we all want to make a game and we all want for that game to GET PLAYED. So let's just start bombarding everyone we know with as much publicity as we can, okay? Lots of links - even just making Facebook statuses about what we're up to would help. Good luck! (Oh, and I'll tack this on here: I have a friend who's pretty experienced in game development and codes for a living. He's too busy to join us full time (or, you know, whatever it is the rest of us do) but if anyone ever needs a spare hand coding or just figuring out how to fit things together, he wanted me to let everyone know that we can hit him up if we need to, so PM me if you need somebody like that on hand.) Also I have a friend with a pretty large developer/gamer Circle who are willing to give us input/first impressions/ and Feedback on anything we produce. EDIT: Were Also now on instagram @thinginabox. Also, don't advertise too much. To your friends and what not? That's fine. But we need at least a demo before we start shouting to the stars we have something. People will be happy to give our project their interest and good will. But only so much of it. We'll time it right, and I can almost promise this game will be a hit. All the work, and the quality of, that you guys are putting into is beautiful to see. |
