This is a question that's been brought up several times, so I thought I'd make a thread about it.

Do you think that playing on a Nintendo console is serious gaming?

Surely you cannot say Sonic was a fail?
Sonic isn't a fail. As mentioned, it started going the wrong way. And as well, Sonic is the only SEGA game I know...

I think Nintendo is stuck in between a rock and a hard place. The rock being, if they made new series, chances are it would go down the toilet, and be way overshadowed by Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Mario, Zelda and Metroid. The hard place being, if they stop making those classic games, everybody will hate them.
Because Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Fit and Nintendoland didn't sell well at all.

I though Wii Sports came with every Wii console. Or maybe that was just in New Zealand.

I don't think it was sold in every Wii here in the states, but I do think a large majority of sales were thanks to it being sold with the Wii.

Can't vouch for the other versions of Wii Sports.

That Nintendo has no problem introducing new IPs.

Ironically, I have all those games on my gaming shelf.

The main problem is more because it's waaay harder to create a reputable game on the Nintendo console. For example, games might sell and all, but it's most probable it'll be completely overshadowed by the likes of Pokemon and Mario.
