Gilbert Melendez vs Diego Sanchez was a quite good fight. Striking wasn't that technical in parts when Diego went crazy but there was a bit of good grappling too so yeh. Don't think it was as amazing as people are making out though. Gilbert Melendez needs to get a UFC title shot again. Problem is the next title shot is lined up already, and then TJ Grant is meant to have one since he missed his last 2 chances because of injury. How Melendez would do idk, he was pretty effected by the kicks to the body that Sanchez threw (even though he was dominating the fight for the most part) and Pettis throws a lot of body kicks - several times more than Sanchez. nobody cares |

It's not like nobody cares. It's just that you're in the wrong neighbourhood, son. Maybe people would like UFC better if they acted better. Like in the WWE, it actually looks real. In UFC, they're crap at doing that. It looks way too fake. Nah, I just don't think that there currently are people on here that like MMA as much as you do. People are still gonna read what you write, but don't expect others to get it or add something to it. |

Yeh I know nobody cares here I mean. I just typed it up because I have nowhere else to say it. If I say it on that other forum Steve might say something stupid about Bruce Lee or someone might just be like "give up already nobody cares!" (even though there is at least one member there these days who likes MMA....used to be a few more) so I just put it here. You walked a fine line with that 2nd sentence there. MMA should be legal in France. Bet there are lots of potential good fighters there. MMA isn't legal in New York basically because the UFC is owned by 2 brothers who own casinos. Pride>UFC Pride theme is the best theme ever would be amazing to have that theme playing as you get ready to fight in front of 40,000+ people in Japan But alas Pride is dead and MMA is not what it was but there are still many great fighters who aren't boring. MMA fighters get paid like nothing until they're contenders in a big organisation. Like 6k to show up to fight and then 6k to win even though training and food is really expensive and in the UFC they only pay for 1 cornerman's transport and stuff, and if you fight abroad you have to pay taxes twice which leaves you with nothing.... Rampage Jackson has been in TNA do you know him? He was in the A-Team movie as Mr T too but I didn't know who he was at the time. |

Lmao @ that French thing. What about Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn do you know those? Some guy called Alberto Del Rio was in MMA and WWE too apparently but idk who that is. There are some others too but nobody else is notable except Brock Lesnar obviously. |

Yeah, I know Ken and Alberto, but not too well. Brock Lesnar was just very popular before MMA already, so you can't expect him to go unnoticed. |

No I meant "not notable" as in they didn't achieve anything in MMA so their MMA record isn't notable. Dan Severn is famous for competing in the early UFCs (and getting submitted by Royce Gracie....) and Ken Shamrock is just an early MMA legend basically (and his brother Frank Shamrock is too and is one of my favourite fighters who released an autobiography last year and there's a new documentary about him which I just found out about because I just looked him up). Brock Lesnar was a UFC heavyweight champion (not that the heavyweight division was that amazing but still good). Gonna start posting good MMA fights now. Also was just thinking of how Aleksander Emilianenko KOed James Thompson even though James Thompson is way bigger and more muscular and Royce Gracie beat guys like Dan Severn and Ken Shamrock even though he's way smaller....basically makes what Steve said about MMA just being strong guys who go to the gym look even more retarded.... This is the fight I mean Yeh because having big muscles helped him there.... Anyway this is an actual good fight- Takanori Gomi vs Nick Diaz (at Pride 33 in 2007 under special rules for the USA so no kicks/knees to the head of a downed opponent so basically UFC rules) 2 of my fave fighters edit: btw watched that Diaz vs Gomi fight a few times and still can't figure out wtf Gomi is doing lol Edited by suckas, Nov 2 2013, 08:37 AM.
