This is was tough choice for me. LttP was one of my favourite games growing up but I believe Wind Waker to be the all-round best, so I voted for that.

I didn't like OoT for one reason or another but I really liked Majora's Mask. Link's Awakening DX is easily my favourite out of the handheld editions.

I loved Majora's Mask. It was such a neat idea(s) with a great execution. Too bad mindless fanboys hate when anything deviates from the Zelda formula. OoT is great, but it has so many elemnets straight from LttP that it makes me sick.

I love Majora's Mask~. It's fun and really engrossing. It only inches slightly above Link's Awakening as my favorite.

This was a really, really tough decision between Wind Waker and Link's Awakening, because I love both games to death. In the end, though, I had to choose Wind Waker, because like KK, I think it's the overall best Zelda.

Someone who thinks they're funny. Why'd you put it up there?

Well, I certainly laughed when I saw the vote. So it worked.

Why not?

Never said it was a bad thing. I myself found it pretty funny.

Now for my totally wanted opinion. The first Zelda game I played through all the way was OoT, and I think that game is practically flawless in nearly every way. Everything about it is just the definition of classic.

But I really loved Wind Waker and Link's Awakening too. Majora's Mask was sweet, I really enjoyed the darker theme. Always ended up making me feel sad though. :[

...How could anyone not like Majora's Mask? .__.

Zelda II is still my favourite.

Wind Waker, and Link's Awakening come close though.

I'm surprised that WW is winning.

Yeah, I picked WW. I don't really think that it's the best overall; MM or OoT would probably hold that. The Triforce quest and how and empty and large the world was took away from WW, but I loved the art style so much: everything was so vivid and I could almost feel the wind on Outset Island.

Lttp hands down is my favorite. I've played through the damn game so many times I'm like a walking guide for it. Link's awakening would be my second. It's the best out of the handheld titles though Oracle of seasons gets brownie points for being nostalgic and Minish Cap is damn good too.

LTTP and Links Awakening are my favorite games on their respective systems. I loved Wind Waker and Majora's Mask; I just hope that what they added to the franchise remains in the franchise.

I liked LttP but I got lost so bad in it that I just couldn't enjoy it as much as others.

Four Swords Adventures is just plain frusterating. I think it had potential, but I don't think Japanese people know how totally uncoopertive american gamers are, especially when you add a Fire Wand into the mix. Then it's just every Link for himself.

LttP for the slight win!

I almost said Link's Awakening because it is technically more memorable, although I can beat both in my sleep.

This would most likely be due to getting yelled at by my parents for completing a "No Continues, No Saves, 100% Completion Run" of Link's Awakening in ~19 hours (yes, I fully realize that probably isn't anywhere near World Class) ... most of which I probably should have been sleeping -- as they pointed out (<-- THE understatement of last millennium :P)

In other words.... *agrees almost completely with Justin, even on the handheld comment*

Sadly, I wouldn't know. I could never find anyone interested in Four Swords long enough to clear the second level. <_<

It's fun with two people, but when four player kicks in it's better to pop in Smash Bros. Melee.

wind waker's art is beautiful, and the story and themes are far and away the best of the series as far as i'm concerned, with only link's awakening really measuring up. the actual gameplay gets bogged down in so many boring periods that i can't begrudge it a top position, though.

so i guess for me it's between the original two, link's awakening and link to the past since i never played majora's mask and hated every second of ocarina of time with a violent passion. the first two are in the running for me just because they're dangerous - link to the past is great and all, but it feels like hyrule hundreds of years later, where the wilderness has been tamed. there's the dark world of course, but since you're pretty much handed the magic mirror you can always warp back to bunnies and flowers hyrule in case you get in trouble.

were this a best of the series, i'd vote the first game, of all things. but since it's personal favorite i guess i'll say, link's awakening.

and, speaking as probably the only member of this forum who owns a cd-i: wand of gaemlon is not nearly as bad as the horrible horrible cutscenes would suggest. if you think about it, there's really no way it could be.

Link's Awakening, but to be fair there are a lot of Zeldas I have yet to play. I've only completed Original, Adventure of Link, Link to the Past, and Link's Awakening. The only other I've played is Oracle of Ages. Which I've stopped because I *********ing hate the Goron Dance mini game and I have to do it a second time. BLEH!

I've learned that whenever the word "Goron" is associated with anything in Zelda, it almost universally means that whatever it's associated with is going to suck goats hard.

And I agree that WW's art is beautiful. Just not its character designs. Like OoT, it sufferred from some terrible human models.

I kinda liked the Goron races in MM, though they were pretty frustrating. Also, Bolero of Fire is a neat tune.

So in other words the entire purpose of the Goron(s) is to piss gamers off with stupid rigged mini games? Now I'm scared.

Outside of the dreadful minigames I thought the Gorons were an interesting race. That and the Goron mask in MM is fun to screw around with. Although I'm more fond of the Zora mask myself.

But yes, that dance minigame in Oracle of ages can goto hell. What an awful minigame. >_< Thankfully I have damn good hand to eye and concentration for these kinds of things. Sure I'm not perfect but at least I can finish stuff like that eventually.

... You little .....

OK, that's out of my system. Anyways, I had to use emulator tricks (save state) to pass those stupid minigames.

Yes, I would agree with the rest of Justin's points; swimming as a Zora was actually my favorite part of MM.

Now that some of us have played Twilight Princess, we can confirm this!

I voted for Wind Waker since it's one of my two favorite Zelda games AND it's so underappreaciated... and all simply because it uses cel-shading. Bah, it was a wonderful game, and I LIKED the beautiful cel-shading! Certainly better than having Link as a brooding teen in a "dark" world.

In truth, it's really a tie between Wind Waker and Link to the Past. Both are outstanding games.

Also, words can't describe how happy I am that Ocarina of Time has only gotten 1 vote. It's a good game, but I've always felt it's just not good enough for all the praise it gets.
