I voted for the second last one because as I look through my current PS2, GC, PS1, N64, and recent PC game collection, I can only think of a few titles I disliked more than it.

So what's your opinion of the game?

I voted "Definitely below average."

There's only one thing wrong with it... the story is so frigging awful that I stopped playing for over a month after what is quite possibly the worst story scene this side of Chrono Cross' last hour of play (in a game which, by contrast, was otherwise decent enough to make up for it), once I reached the Tower of Salvation.

The problem is, as I implied, that while the rest of the game isn't really bad in any way, nothing really makes up for this either. I mean, I did finish the game, and I don't regret purchasing it, but nothing about the game really impressed me aside from the stupidity of the plot and the game's length... not a good combination.

Oh, and Lloyd is an idiot. I don't care how many times it's said, it's always worth repeating: Lloyd is a freakin idiot.

On the plus side, Zelos, Mithos, Genis, and Raine were somewhat likable characters. Sheena might have been too if she weren't so obviously fanservice and maybe a bit brighter.

I voted for average. It was fun, I enjoyed it, but it suffers from an utter lack of any depth whatsoever and a really stupid plot.

do not want!

i don't think anything short of a gun to my temple will make me want to play any more of this game. i'm the kind of person who will tough it out and play through just about anything, but i quit symphonia before i even hit ten hours in and had zero desire to ever play it again.

It's not one of my personal favs, but I like it more than the second option and less than the first.

I loved ToS alot, it was a cute game.

I voted "Average" only because it kept my attention long enough to complete it. Probably from about 80% complete, I finished out the final 20% just because I didn't want to quit because I knew I'd never play it again. As I've said somewhere else, it is a forgetful game.

Haha, I guess I should have voted for it to be "Below Average." I'm never good at these poll things.

I despise Tales of Symphonia, but I reckognize it's only slightly below average for a title. My criticism is in it's rather extremely flawed combat engine, while the over-the-top melo-dramatic story is atleast told decently and helps keep the game afloat despite how weak the plot actually is with a solid narrative structure. In the end, it's something I would never touch again with a ten foot pole, but I can see how it can captivate someone who isn't as picky as I am about the combat engine and doesn't mind mindless button mashing.

I'm undecided between voting for the first option and the second option. I don't consider Tales of Symphonia to be anything ground breaking, but for certain I enjoyed playing the game. Which ultimately what matters most to me. Plus I love Colette and Presea. Of course it helps I like Tales in general. The fact I like some anime and don't have an intense hatred of anime as some do may also be a factor.
