Summon Night Two Atlus GBA RPGs I've yet to pick up that came out last summer; anyone have any hands on experience with them? Yggdra Union Sting's new title, which I'll probably pick up regardless of people's opinions And of course the Super Robot Taisen titles; but those aren't high on my curiousity list as they've been discussed. I didn't see a thread on Summon Night, which is the one I'm most curious about. |

Summon Night is essentially a "Tales-of" game, but with only one playable character (either male or female), and a very traditional magic charge system instead of MP. There's also a lot of dialogue interaction and pseudo-date-simulation features. It's pretty cool, if just a tad childish looking. Haven't played the second yet, but it's on my Christmas list. |

The second one is more of the same, with more varied environments and utterly broken spells (at least for the summon I chose, which is Dinah the hell/angel girl). I literally mean it. Just use the weaker spells on small fry, use the bigger spells on bosses and you'll barely get scratched (once you have access to offensive spells at least). Not sure how it compares to the first one, cause I got bored really easily due to boring and repetitive dungeon layout. Then again, the second one has a lot of backtracking so...:( |

http://z11.invisionfree.com/Gamers_Abyss_4...p?showtopic=949 - Summon Night 1 http://z11.invisionfree.com/Gamers_Abyss_4...?showtopic=1207 - Summon Night 2 At times like these I wished the search function worked. Though I suppose it's easier to just poke thru the pages and dig them up myself. The games are pretty fun if you don't mind a little repetition. |

Thanks Justin, I was looking for those pages as well... I'm attempting to deliberate on what I should purchase for Christmas. :\ I don't think the theme of SRT will appeal to me, but then again, I could be wrong... and Yggdra Union, I'm not in a particular mood for SRPGs. A bit off-topic, I know, but now would be a good time to pick up RS:MS, eh? |
