Yep, you heard me right: 30 EXTRA hours tied in to the end of Persona 3.

From IGN

December 11, 2006 - Don't you just love it when Japan gets word of a sequel to a hit game while we're still waiting for the original's release? Such is the case with Persona 3. Atlus USA is planning a second quarter release for the US version of the game. Meanwhile, the latest issue of Famitsu has delivered first details on an update, Persona 3 Fes.

The Fes stands for Festival, presumably as in "Festival of Persona 3." This isn't strictly a new game. Fes consists of Persona 3's content, along with 30 hours of additional gameplay. The new gameplay comes primarily in the form of the "Gojitsudan," a story sequence that comes after the original's ending. Atlus has put together a large number of new, animated movies for this section.

The main Persona 3 storyline has also been updated with new features. While the main storyline is the same, it's been tuned up with new events. Gameplay has been updated as well, with a new "hard" setting (the original had just easy and normal), 23 new Personas, a weapon synthesis system and a system for changing your characters' clothes.

Atlus will be offering Fes in two packages, a standard full-price version and in the form of an append disk. The append disk will be sold for cheaper, but will require that players insert their Persona 3 disk before starting play. Pricing for both versions has yet to be set.

Japan will get this update on April 19, 2007. Our version of Persona 3 will likely arrive after that, so let's hope Atlus is good enough to include all the bonus content.

I haven't played a Persona game before but I'd really like to so I've been following this game a little bit. The trailers are really sweet and people seem to like the series as a whole. I'm excited!

I can't wait until all this is coming to America~~.

Persona 3 looks and sounds like it is going to kick copious amounts of ass ^_^. I love the artstyle, the focus on pop music, the setting and the fact that it's a high school simulator combination dungeon crawler on top of that it's the latest sequel to my favorite branch of MegaTen. It's like Atlus made the entire game just to appeal to me.

This mofo be pre-ordered, yo.

The game has been delayed for a US release until June. The delay was announced just before the P3: Fes announcement.

Coincidence? I think not!

I've been heavily anticipating Persona 3 ever since it was announced... and if Fes comes along with the US version, I'll be more of an Atlus fangirl than I already am.

Keep your fingers crossed...
