Pretty big PS3 exclusive is now multi-platform:

SEGA has revealed that Virtua Fighter 5 will be released on Xbox 360 after all, in late summer 2007.

That gives it a bit of time on its own on PlayStation 3, for which it will be released on 20th February in North America and at PS3's March launch in Europe, but will certainly come as a relief to ardent fans of the game who didn't fancy the latter's price tag.

"Those people lucky enough to have already played Virtua Fighter 5 [in the arcade] will know that it's laid the foundations to become the clear benchmark for fighting games on all next generation consoles," reckons SEGA's Matt Woodley.

Expect more on this in the near future, with the game due out in both the US and Europe in late summer 2007.

Now, I'm no console warrior, but this combined with Konami's "at this time" statement is starting to have me wary of the PS3's library in the long run period.

Which is good, because I don't have a PS3 yet.

Care to elaborate about Konami's speech? This is the first I've heard about it...

Regarding MGS4 rumors, Konami released a statement saying that MGS4 was a PS3 exclusive at this time. I expect to see MGS4 Substance 360 within six months of the game's release.

Christ. Virtua Fighter 5 was the only thing that really made me want a PS3.

Man Sony just keeps getting kicked where it hurts. All these companies are "jumping ship" left and right. Makes wonder if SE will eventually crack, I doubt it.

Both MGS 1 and 2 were ported to other formats, so it's not anything new. No doubt PS3 will also be getting a Subsitence-style re-release at the same time anyway.

Back to VF5... this is great news! Finally, the 360 will have a fighter worth playing! Considering the game runs on Lindburgh boards anyway, it makes more sense to port it to 360 than it did to PS3.
