Pokemon without a doubt. Final Fantasy in close second with 6 and 4 and then the Mario RPGs with Superstar Saga being my top in that category. |

A lot of those are so not major RPG series'. That's closer to a list of every JRPG series than the major ones. You're only missing, like, Jade Cocoon and Marl Kingdom. Anyway, I was torn between Pokemon and SaGa, but I realized that I've actually put a lot more time and energy in Pokemon and it just has so much more to it and I've actually been almost entirely satisfied with all of its entries as opposed to SaGa which has some less than satisfactory bits to it, so despite my "feeling" that they're the same, Pokemon gets it. |

I'd say the series that has consistently delivered for me has always been Final Fantasy. Since 2 got remade, there is no longer a single truly 'bad' game in the whole series. Some of them are less good than others, sure; but I enjoyed them all to the extents that they offer. Why I didn't pick: >Pokemon: I love Pokemon to death but as single-player RPGs they aren't very good. A lot of my single-player stuff is actually done with the ulterior motive of the multiplayer. And the multiplayer is where the gold is at. >SaGa: SaGa games are great, but its overall quality is inconsistent and they're all unfinished; yes, even Unlimited! It's one of my favorite series, but not my absolute favorite. >MegaTen: MegaTen is actually more inconsistent than SaGa is on overall quality. The main series has great dungeon crawlers, but I didn't necessarily enjoy as many of them. >Mana: Mana is wonderful, but it seems to have gone really downhill lately. None of it is terrible per se, but it feels kinda Kirby-ish in that since its one big hit, it's been trying to replicate the same elements to an extent that made that hit a hit and failing every time; producing something that, while still good, is much lesser. |

Hm, I can't choose. All the ones where I've played the majority of the series have had a couple of games I really dislike, and it's not really fair for me to pick Fire Emblem or MegaTen based on the few games that have made it to the US, and I still need to play more than two SaGa games. (I swear I'll get to SF2 some day...) |

I'm going to have to go with my inner fanboy and vote for Chrono as my favorite with FF and Megaten in a close second. |

I picked FF, just because each entry tends to be of high quality whether I personally like it or not, and I do like the majority of the games in the series. Chrono is the closest thing on there to a series with no sub-par games, but seeing as how it's only two official games, and one non-canonical text adventure, I'm not sure I'd call that a series. I'd be happy to eat those words if Chrono Break ever gets released though. |

Not spectacular =/= bad or sub-par. I half agree with you though... Chrono Cross was good overall, but some parts of it were a bit of a mess. |

Chrono Cross was alright. It was certainly better than Trigger, which didn't not suck. |

I love Chrono Trigger too, so if I gave off the impression that I felt otherwise, well, I didn't mean to. Anything negative was directed solely towards Chrono Cross, and as I said, even that's a good game overall IMHO. |

I love Chrono Cross, but that may be because of the subjective reasons around it. Chrono Trigger is pretty suck, though. |

Ys > SaGa > MegaTen, would be my top three. Yes, I put Ys above SaGa. I really like my awesome ARPGs. |

I'm sorry, we haven't met... I don't lurk here or on any message boards nearly as much as I used to. SaGa. The only series that will get me to buy a console. (Again, any news on SaGa 10? Anyone?) |

I have this urge to ask you to define "mess" but, I have the feeling the words "Dead" and "Sea" are in there somewhere. Oh and uh "Divided timeline" ya that too. Maybe it's better I don't ask ^_^;; |

I can honestly say there is no SaGa game I hate; in fact my least favourite SaGa (3), isn't a bad game, it's just not nearly as deep as the rest. The few games I disliked on first play (SaGa Frontier 2, Romancing SaGa 2), are now two of my favourites in the series. Hence obviously my answer. No other series comes close. |

Heh, I have to be the only one voting for KH... :/ If I were to rank JRPGs, it would go KH > SD > PS > Chrono >> Pocket Monsters >>>>>>>>> Final Fantasy. EDIT: Final Fantasy was killed by FF7 and the slightly lacking (imho) FF9. 7 was the biggest waste of 100+ hours and $20 I have ever accomplished. 9 was just so cleche and rushed near the end (case in point: Necron and Ozma -- when I beat both, I'm like "WTF?! That's IT?!").

SaGa is my favorite RPG series. Although for the record I also love Final Fantasy, Mana, and Tales. I also enjoyed some games from other series as well. However it's SaGa and those other three series that mainly come to mind for me. |
