The purpose of this topic is just to sing Treasure's praises and to talk about which of their games you are currently playing and have previously played. If you are unlucky and have never touched one of Treasure's games then you are missing out. Almost everything they make is a brilliant example of whatever genre it belongs to and is also incredibly unique. Currently I am playing Guardian Heroes for the Saturn. It is a lot better than I expected; the GBA game didn't leave the best impression. Mostly because it had one good level and it was over about 20 minutes into the game. Anyway what I find amazing is how differently all of the character's play. The 40+ paths rock as well. Still learning the Tri-Plane system. Having to train myself to block again, Godhand kind of fucked me up in this regard. Mischief Makers, Alien Soldier, and Gunstar Heroes are currently my favorite Treasure titles, and will likely be met by Guardian Heroes soon enough. Light Crusader is incredibly underrated. |

My personal favourites are Alien Soldier, Guardian Heroes and Radiant Silvergun. I'm on-and-off aiming for a 1CC run through Alien Soldier, but so far I'm only hitting stage 10 before I die (it's the tight platforms that are causing me problems there). If you haven't already, check out the GBA Astro Boy. I avoided it for ages as I was disappointed by Treasures other GBA efforts (especially Guardian Heroes), but it's an excellent game with real replayability. |

I wish I was better at Gunstar Heroes. Watching Dark's video made me oh so very jealous. D: |

I'm all about Ikaruga, probably my favourite SHMUP after Tyrian 2K. I've played Radiant Silvergun but it wasn't the nicest experience (kinda choppy on a saturn emulator). |

I tried Radiant Silvergun on a MAME emu. Shaddup, I know that was an even unnicer experience. |

I've played Guardian Heroes, Gunstar Heroes, Radiant Silvergun, Ikaruga and Gradius V. My favorite is Gradius V. But they're all brilliant of course. |

adore bangai-o and dynamite headdy, expect to also love alien soldier. like gradius 5 although most days i'd prefer gaiden. can't stand ikaruga and would probably feel the same about radiant silvergun. don't really care for astro boy. don't really get mischief makers or stretch panic. |

I'm ashamed to say I completely forgot about Bangai-O :S I loved the original, but the DS game left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm very glad I don't own it any more. |

yeah, i kind of fail to see what purpose the ds remake could serve beyond a) releasing the game for those who didn't get to try it on the dreamcast and b) giving the creative types a neat level editor to play around with. neither of which makes a difference to me.
i'll have to try astro boy on the gb player now that i have one; i got to the last boss rush and just lost patience with it. i'd like to see why everyone says the second lop is so amazing. |
