Deiser was kind enough to "get" this game for me. Thanks again man ^_^ I Just got done playing it today and I gotta say Falcom needs to hurry up and release another Ys game cause this one was fantastic. I've been on quite the Ys binge in the last couple of weeks. Played this, Origins again, Ys: Mask of the sun, the DS port of Ys I and II (Blasphemy I know, I'm getting the PC ones eventually ^_^;;) Felghana was a lot harder than Origins I struggled on quite a few of the bosses but I managed. Ys: mask of the sun just ticked me off at certain points. More so cause I couldn't figure out how to damage a few of the bosses. The battle system took some getting used to since I had never played a classic Ys game. The ports of Book I and II weren't that horrible but I understand that the PC versions are far superior and I plan to play them eventually. So what have the rest of you played? Is anything else in the series worth playing? Carby tells me Ys 5 is garbage and I own and have beaten Ys 6. Oh and BTW if any of you are interested in playing Felghana and need a clean English patch I'd be more then happy to help you out. Just say the word ; ) |

Ys V Expert isn't garbage, because the difficulty was increased to the proper level for it, as well as various bugfixes. |

SNES. It only saw a PC release as an limited extra with another game Falcom published (Tsukikage was it?), and even then it was just an emulation of the original. In any case, Falcom are hurrying up with a new Ys game - Ys 7 has an official website up and running now, as do the latest ports of YS 1 & 2 (PSP). Far more important than either of those though is the new that there's a Legend of Heroes 7 due soon, and it ties into the Sora no Kiseki series ^^~ Edit: If you liked Felghana the most obvious choice is to play Ys Origin next, as that and Ys 6 are the only other Ys games like it. Which version of Ys 6 did you play? The PSP version is closer to the original PC game, but suffers from being such a shoddy port (I gave up after a while, I couldn't stand it), the PS2 version has some basic changes that make it quite a different thing too. The PC version has an English patch now, so there's really no excuse for not trying out the game the way it was meant to be played. If you want to try out the first two, go for Ys 1 & 2 Complete (PC) over the "Eternal" versions, as they are the definitive versions of those two games. You must also try out Xanadu Next, it's an amazing game that's well worth anyones time. |

I saw the headlines on RPG fan. I'm not going to bother going news hunting for awhile since the game is slated for Sept in Japan. It'll be awhile before anyone else sees it. Acutally Kimmi I've already played the rest of the series save for 5. I had Origins on PC for a while but ended up deleting it by mistake. Deiser was kind enough to retrieve another copy for me. This time around I even got the text to display properly and I got some bonus goodies to muck around with. I <3 Ys:F Adol in time attack. I own the PS2 version of Napistim and have played through it at least 2-3 times. Gave the ISO of the PSP version a shot and dropped out of playing much like yourself. It's REALLY shoddy port. How much is different between the PC version and the others anyways? I'm fairly certain it was mostly graphical with a few other things missing. IE the trials area, ETC. Foolishly I played the DS port of the first two games. I have yet to find some way to get myself the PC versions. Though I am intending to get them. Xanadu? Can't say I've heard that name before. What kinda game is it? |

Xanadu Next is a more thoughtful action RPG with an emphasis on dungeon/area exploration in a Metroid-ish style - not everywhere is available to you at once just because you are able to visit an area, as you progress you learn new abilities and skills that will allow you to reach places that were previously off limits. Hey I dug up my old topic - link |

Gah I read that as "You should try out Xandu next, it's an amazing game that's well worth any ones time. " Glossed over the "Next" being part of the title. ^_^;; Either way Ren you have made my day with that link. XD Even though you're being a bit of a jerk : P I kid, I kid. Alright so my next question is was that English patch ever finished Kimmi? If so where can I get this game? I have a feeling I may have to "acquire" it. |

THe English patch for Xanadu Next? Nah, they haven't even started it yet! Ys Origin is being worked on right now, with Xanadu Next queued up after it. There is a great FAQ for it up on GameFAQs though, so you'd have no problems with item selection and so on. It's well worth the effort. |

Of course there hasn't been any posts since April. I very much doubt we'll be seeing the patch anytime soon but it's still nice to know that someone is finally working on it. |
