The site is up, and it's been confirmed that they're working on it: http://www.thief4.com/ Not much is known though. No pics or videos or anything, just the site and a lot of hopes. I can't wait to chat with all of you and tell me how great (read: scary) the game is looking out to be and how great (read: scary) the previous games were. I heard rumours of a Deus EX 3 too but I can't be bothered to look for that. |

Deus Ex 3 is confirmed and it's shaping up to be terrible. I predict that this is somehow going to be a lot worse than Thief 3. |

Was Thief 3 supposed to be good or not? I played a bit of it and got bored. Btw avoid Velvet Assassin. Presentation is top notch, but the level design (early ones at least) is so linear, the there is only one best way to do everything. |

It was consolized just like Deus Ex 2, so it was not nearly as good or interesting as the first 2 games. But if you got bored then you probably won't like any game in the series, as you have to be very patient to get things done. |

Thief 3 had really cramped and terribly designed levels. I loved both Thief 1 and 2, but was bored with Thief 3 within the hour. There is really no exploration or interaction within the levels in Thief 3, which is what the first two games were built on. Patience is a part of the first two games, but you are constantly on the move and trying to make plans on the fly. The levels also allowed for a great deal of improvisation. Thief 3 instead was cramped and had NPCs that followed overly simplistic and drawn out patterns. Plus every every level followed extremely linear paths, and there was little in the way of actual choice. If Darkstalker felt Thief 3 moved too slowly then Thief might not be the series for him. Boredom is an unfair measure for the rest of the series, because Thief 3 is simply just a boring game while the others could be described as anything but. This isn't even taking into account Thief's 3 failures in atmosphere. |

Anyone else find it roffle-worthy that the official title for this one is Thi4f, or Thiaf. That's just weird. Haven't played any of the Thief games, but for the sake of the fans, I hope it turns out at least halfway decent. |

Well, Thief 3 did at least have the Shalebridge Cradle. Not saying that excuses the rest of it, just that it wasn't a complete loss... |

yeah, betting a million dollars they try to take this down some parkour-heavy modern day angle and rip heavily from games like mirror's edge oh, can't believe i missed this but darkstalker, everyone should avoid velvet assassin because it's made by southpeak games and they're absolutely fucking horrible at everything. |

Yeah, well, I know that NOW. It's more restrictive than Thief 3, I can say that much. |

This wouldn't be a bad idea if Mirror's Edge or Assassin's Creed were anything but extremely repetitive. |

*sighs* Oh well, there's still plenty of awesome Thief 1/2 mods out there to mess around with for some real fun. |
