Actually done by Game Arts and not outsourced like the gba game or the DS game (iirc).

Say what O_o

That's kinda random. How long has it been since Dragon Song flopped? Makes me wonder why Game Arts is deciding to do it now. I'm not complaining mind you I'm just a little confused is all.

I would be all over this if I had or wanted a PSP. Is that wrong?

Of course it's wrong.

(not really. I never have a p roblem with people liking things, I have a problem with people claiming untrue things)

...I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'D LIKE LUNAR HOW COULD YOU

The GBA version was unfortunately dumbed down, but I found the PS1 version to be rather charming.

Potential issues with a Working Designs translation aside, I rather like the combat in comparison to the rampant stay in your line waiting for the ATB gauge to fill over and over again tedium that was the norm at the time.

Well, if Atlus picked up this game for localization then we'd get the same quality translation as WD hopefully. Seriously, the localized script is one of the primary reasons why I loved the Playstation games.

But... the localised scripts are awful, and ignore huge sections of the original game's text in favour of WD's jokes...

Dawg, shut up. Bill Clinton jokes are as timless as Lewis Black's standup.

That's really insulting to Lewis Black. Because, you know, Lewis Black actually has witty humour that doesn't suck.

Oh I know. I love the man's other work, which makes his stand up all the more disappointing :( But you are right, as terrible as his stand up can be, he at the very least has a whole slew of redeeming qualities. Which is more than I can say for some things.

I felt that the original scripts were also considerably duller than the localised scripts. The localised scripts are part of the main reason why I enjoy the game so much.

I really disagree with the idea that irrelevant, anachronistic, "jokes" about Bill CLinton and American breakfast cereals improve the experience of a straight-up fantasy RPG. They wouldn't rile me so much if they were done with some subtlety and wit, but they really come across as "Welcome to Burg LOL I HAVE THE TEXT EDITOR DO YOU LIKE REESE'S CUPS???!!!???"

From the sounds of it, it's a no win situation.

Original script: Dull and boring
WD script: Stupid and irrelevant

SAVE US FROM LUNAR

So who's doing the translation for this one?

XSeed's bringing this over, so it'll get a very good localization.

That's almost a shame, because I imagine the general reaction will be people wondering where the "jokes" about dragon poo went.
