Deiser got me addicted to the original so I decided to get my hands on the 2nd game and I love it just as much as the first. In fact I played the game so much in the last week or so I had to take a break because my right hand was getting cramps ^_^;;

I was just curious if any of our other PSP owners have played either of these games and what they thought of them. If you haven't' given either of them a shot you're missing out on quite the unique experience.

PON PON PATA PON

I get bored because they both feel grindy at times.

Very true but, I have a strong tolerance for grinding and or repetition. More so when the game is this addictive. Though material hunting does aggravate me from time to time. Makes me wish I was better at the Ore mini game in Patapon 2. That and the blacksmith one. I'm horrible at both of them in the second game X_X

Though I make up for it by getting loads of free stuff by perfecting Ubo Bon's minigame
BON BON BONNNE!

My army is pretty killer right. My hero is wearing the Shubassa mask and is wielding the Great Thunder Spear. His attack speed is .32 secs XD Every time he goes into hero mode he throws not one, not two, but THREE super spears. Its like rape in a bottle.

I love the visuals and the idea, but I really can't get into either of them.

I would think that a beef up to the control scheme would be in order.

Like, instead of general commands, you can give specific commands. Say first 2 beats signify who and the last 2 beats signify what.

Just a thought.

Considering the various types of units in the game, this would make controlling them a living hell; either you'd have to remember the exact combinations for each type of unit or waste space on the screen to keep up a permanent list of commands... not to mention that if you make one mistake, you may find that you sent your wrong troops in to attack, or didn't make all your troops run away, etc etc.

At that point it becomes something that's far less friendly for a console/handheld, and starts going into PC-only-friendly territory.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of grouping them into various units.

Like...you have them in 3 groups already (as far as I've played, which isn't far). So 4 combinations would do; 1 each for units 1-3, 1 for all.

Then again, I don't know what is the limit of your army or your commands.

Your army is limited to 3 squads for each various unit. Smaller units have 6 members in their squad. Larger units/special units only have 3. At any given time you can only take 3 squads or less with you into combat. Patapon 2 adds the hero unit to your army who has the ability to change his class to any unlocked patapon type you have at the time, he can't be removed from the army.

The extent of your commands for the whole army is "march" "attack" "defend" "retreat" "charge up" "Perform miracle" "jump" (Pata2 only) and one or two more. Factor in the different classes, all the weapons you can get your hands on, Juju and what stews to bring into combat, and the game has a fair amount of depth to it albeit a bit repetitive.
