....It already looks far better than all of the DS games combined.

I'm already assuming that it'll be better than the PS2 games, since they weren't really good to begin with.

But.... Patrick Stewart, in a Kojima-made Castlevania..... and to top it off, it looks like a potential restart of the Castlevania timeline (the ending has "2010: Reborn", and there's a conspicuous lack of any mention of Dracula).

....Hot damn....

Oh wow... That was almost like watching a trailer for a movie or something. THIS is something I'm going to have to keep my eye on. It'll be interesting to see what Kojima does.

I think the "reborn" is more like a "we're doing something different for the series" kinda thing. I don't think the timeline is restarting.

Yes, but keep in mind that Kojima also LOVES to keep things ambiguous while also leaving subtle hints (and obvious ones as well) in his trailers. As I said, every other time a Castlevania game is announced there is at least some mention of either Belmont, Dracula or both. This is the first time where there is absolutely no mention of either in a CV game revealing, and in fact shows NONE of the primary "traits" of the series (the whip is a chain whip as I mentioned, not the Vampire Slayer) even going as far as showing only outdoor stages, with the castle looming in the background. It really does feel more like a redone timeline than anything else based on this trailer imo.

I don't remember where, but I read a rather unimpressive preview somewhere. Whether that was hands-on or off I can't remember, though.

Also: MercurySteam's last products were Jericho and Scrapland. =/

what
But MercurySteam can produce awesome visuals, in fact Jericho was used as a performance benchmark in some hardware sites for a while.

I'm certain Konami is designing the project while MS simply builds it. It really wouldn't make sense any other way.

Lords of Shadow was revealed quite a while ago, though, and was just recently retooled to be a CV game. I'm fairly certain that MS has been working on the game by themselves for a while.

The fact that Konami brought Kojima in on the project AND forced the game to be retooled as a CV obviously shows that they don't have that much faith in MS, especially after Jericho and such sold poorly. It's not as if this would be the first game that has been forced to get scrapped and restarted from the ground up.
